The question I get most, whether it be on Myspace, Facebook, or Twitter, is what kind of weed am I smoking? And my answer is always the same: Whatever my dealer brought me.

In Kentucky we don't have dispensaries, with clearly marked weed strains. We have to sneak around, buying weed while at the same time looking for cops. Around here weed is dark green, or light green, or brown dirt weed. Sometimes it has little crystals on it, and when you see those, you know it's going to be good.

But my dealer doesn't have the faintest idea what he's selling me. I don't mind; it's consistently good, and has been for almost ten years. Sure, I wish I had a cool strain name to go with my high, but it is what it is. If it's light green with crystals (and little red hairs), I know I'm going to be stoned.

When asked, I would love to say I'm tokin' on some Kush or say it's a nice Sativa. But to me it's just weed, and some weed is better than other weed. Someday we will all have dispensaries and will be able to buy marijuana that's marked, but for now, I'm driving through bad neighborhoods at night, or waiting 6 hours for my dealer to come by.

Some people seem to think that not knowing what strain I'm smoking makes me less of a stoner. Oh well, I won't lose a minute of high over it. I've been a stoner for 13 years, and have observed dozens of other stoners. I've fought for marijuana reform for almost a decade.

And when it comes down to it, that's what I focus on, activism. Too many people are being hurt by the current marijuana laws. The madness must end.

Not gonna lie . . . I do like to know what I'm smoking. I'm kind of a weed connoisseur. Whenever my boyfriend and I get weed that we don't know what it is specifically . . . we crack open the "Cannabis Bible" and see if we can figure it out by taste, smell, high, and look. Usually we're pretty close. We've gotten pretty good at it, so we can usually ball park most strains.

Wouldn't it be nice to have an informed choice of weed when you buy the next time. You know, several varieties of packaged smoke with labels indicating the strength, variety and cost per gram on the package. Maybe,someday.
