"I was terminated because I failed a drug screening," says former WalMart employee Joseph Casias.
It's not like Wal-Mart doesn't get enough bad press. The big, bad corporation that crushes poor little mom and pop stores into the dust as they roll on to world domination. So they decided that the firing of a state-licensed medical marijuana patient was a great cause to champion.
Maybe they're legally in the right, maybe they aren't. Either way, why cause an uproar by standing by the firing of a man who is, by all accounts, a great and loyal employee?

There are all kinds of dangerous things out there. Things that will harm you. I could sit here for the next 6 hours and list them, but I won't. We all know this is true. Death lurks around every corner.
I'm not a synthetic marijuana expert; in fact, I've never tried it before. All I know is the anecdotal evidence I've heard on the news. Suffice it to say, synthetic marijuana (or K2 or Spice) has gotten a bad rap in the press. Apparently it's not as safe as real marijuana. So be it.

It's been two weeks since my last blog and boy do the ladies look different!
As you can see from the images below, one issue I noticed were the T-5 upgrade lights at the bottom of the box are starting to cause some leaf burns, and even a stem decapitation.

For years we've heard tall tales from the government about the dreaded "gateway effect" of marijuana. 'Try it and soon you'll be hankering for a stronger high. Shortly thereafter, you're a junkie on the street desperately seeking another fix.'
I won't go into the many reasons why this is an obvious fallacy based on specious logic. I'll leave that to your own common sense.
Personally, I believe that marijuana can have the exact opposite effect; that smoking or vaporizing cannabis can actually become the saving grace in a hard-drug addict's or alcoholic's life.
Anecdotally, I've seen this played out time and time again. I hear from and meet people on a weekly basis who use marijuana as their "anti-drug", to appropriate a phrase from the prohibitionists. These are former hard drug addicts and alcoholics who quit using those poisons and now smoke pot as their only "vice". …READ MORE

After over a decade of medical marijuana legislation in the New York State legislature, it looks like this is the year. Last month the bill passed the Senate Health Committee with its largest margin ever and we anticipate another victory in the Codes Committee, which is its next vote. These achievements, along with a new supportive leadership and bipartisan support makes this the most exciting year for medical marijuana in New York's recent history.
NY Patients First held a press conference in the Capital Building after the Health Committee’s vote of support where we invited patients to tell their stories. The support and press coverage we got proves how much of a mainstream issue this is. The patients were on nearly every nightly news station, including major outlets. It was hard for opposition to attack us with legitimate fact based arguments, and the news stories reflected that.
