We have a running debate within the HIGH TIMES office: Does Showtime's "Weeds" portray the world of marijuana poorly, what with all the guns, shootings, DEA raids, and highly inappropriate parenting, or is the joke on those who still believe that this kind of Reefer Madness represents the norm.

Either way, former child star Mary-Kate Olsen has taken a star turn on the show this season, as a lover of the Lord who also enjoys Lord Shiva. Check it out, and let us know what you think of the show in the comments.

i think its fine. . it was created by God. its society and government that make it wrong. but i agree with what she says infact i smoke a joint while i do my devotions. god hates achoilic behavior not the drinker. same with pot

Mary-Kate Olson is funny as hell on weeds but she is also a crule little bitch for leading Silas on but at the same time she makes and awesome stoner edition to the show and i can't wait till the new season comes out in August.

Dude... this show kicks ass I love it I have every season and japenese utube the 3 season big time smoker and i like the angle it potrays not all smokers deal with shit like that but everything they do happens somewhere all the time maybe not to the same person anyway props to weed and weeds

Oh man...you HT staff kids, you so funny, crosspromoting both Weeds and yourselves without any direct reference. HT writer Chris Bennett wrote a great article on this exact subject on 02/10/03, just do a search.

Yea i think it's good there trying to get herb out there like dat we all jus need to find a president that that will legalize the shit now!!!
I mean if t.v. exects aren't worried about putting a show on and it getting cancled why can't a running canidate use us stoners to there advantage and get our vote's by tryin to legalize it they got the power, I know I would vote how bout ever body else??????????????

Weeds is probably my favorite show of all time. I think it accuratetly portrays the marijuana culture that thrives in California! Too bad I'm from the police state of AZ. It's dark comedy and bright sides gives a stoner some inner peace. I think they should start putting up ads for high times and norml at the end of shows. It was cool though that they had the NORML/High Times booths up in season 2 ep#2 thought :)

The show was Full House and the Olsen twins should've stopped there. Who cares about Mary-Kate...Kevin Nealon is what Weeds is all about (except for weed that is). Some of the stuff he says is hilarious. :)

That show is entertaining sometimes, but some of the stuff is totally whackass retarded. The shootings, the "desperate housewives" approach to all her friends and how everyone gets along....

Its funny, but it dances a very thin line on being anti-weed

All young girls act "stoned" because that's the way they are! I remember the hippy chicks used to act like they were tripping 24/7, just out of it. Maybe that's what they were trying to convey, dunno.

I would like to see WEEDS but don't have Showtime. Goddamn cable bill is higher than all of us as it is!
