Bonghitters Get Even, Crush Trader Monthly In Regular Season Finale

After smoking the Bonghitters in the league opener; 14-6, the Bonghitters returned the favor in the finale of the regular 2008 season as The Green Machine "rolls" into the playoffs.

Trader Monthly scored two runs on a homer in the top of the 1st inning and it looked like The Stoners were in trouble again. But this time the Bonghitters were ready. In the bottom of the inning, they batted around the order and scored a Bonghitter record 15 runs!

The big hits came from Nico (2B, 3B and 3 RBI) and Darren (two hits including a three-run HR). Four walks and a whole bunch of errors and EVERYBODY scored. Trader Monthly little resembled the team that punished the Bonghitters on their home field back in June.

This game also had playoff implications. The Bonghitters found themselves in the position of needing to win by nine runs in order to avoid arch-rival Business Week in the 1st round of the Playoffs (the Bonghitters defeated Business Week in last year's Championship game). Mission Accomplished. Media League playoffs will take place Sept 6th on Central Park's Great Lawn.
