Hugs for everyone who picked up a copy of the March 2010 issue of HIGH TIMES and then proceeded to actually take time out of their day to check out my new blog! I really appreciate the attention, because well, let’s face it – attention is usually loads of fun!
Now, with that being said, I’d like to take this opportunity to send out a special R.I.P. to the beautiful piece you all saw me holding in the March 2010 issue of HIGH TIMES. My favorite pipe, who I affectionately refer to as Zoolander, met his untimely end in a horrible glass thinning accident. It’s true; so sad, but true. I was sitting on my couch one day preparing for 4:20 when all of the sudden, CRACK! And that was it, the center of the bowl collapsed and chips of kelly green glass clinked to the bottom of the pipe.
Zoolander was a beautiful piece blown by an artist who lives and works in Colorado, but whose name currently escapes me… an imperfection in my reporting that will surely be cleared up as soon as my source emerges from his winter storm hiding spot.
And so the search is on for a new perfect pipe, or possibly the opportunity to special order a Zoolander clone. Either way, I really need a new pipe. I did find one design online at grasscity.com that I fancied quite intensely and I vowed that it would be mine. It would be called Afrika Bambaataa… or at least it was going to be, but I checked the other day and couldn’t relocate it for the life of me. I guess everyone else thought it was pretty incredible too. So, while I may have impeccable taste in glass pipe art, I still lack my very own perfect pipe. And that my friends, is very sad.
Until next time… Peace and Love!
