On Saturday, January 16, 2010 Ploppy Palace Productions and Tobacco Road will be hosting the 12th Annual Medical Marijuana Benefit Concert to raise funds for PUFMM’s (People United For Medical Marijuana), South Florida NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) and Patients Out Of Time’s medical marijuana campaign and the protection of patients’ rights. Held at Miami's Tobacco Road, the three-stage event will feature live painting demonstrations, spoken word, community speakers, dancers, and an array of South Florida bands. In addition Irvin Rosenfeld and Elvy Musikka, the directors of Patients Out Of Time, will describe their experiences with obtaining medical marijuana through the federal government. More info at Ploppy Palace Productions

Robert Platshort, aka Bobby Tuna, America's longest serving prisoner for a non-violent offense, for his 30-year prison sentence will be at the concert. Bobby is the author of Black Tuna Diaries and was featured in the HIGH TIMES 35th Anniversary Issue. He'll be signing books and collecting signatures for PUFMM and NORML to help put medical marijuana on the Florida ballot.

Florida is not one of the 13 states that allow medical marijuana. Currently there is a statewide petition drive to get the medical marijuana issue on the ballot to change the laws in Florida. Come be a part of the movement for safe access to patient's medication.
