When's the best day to arrive at the Cannabis Cup?

Hey,
Me and my guy wanted to get some advice for coming out to Amsterdam. We were really trying to make it out for the Cup this year however some things with school came up, but we're still dead on making it out there. When is it better to be out there, the weekend before or after?

ANSWER: The best time to arrive at the Cannabis Cup is Friday, Nov. 20th, or Saturday Nov. 21st, the week-end before the event officially starts on Sunday. That way you get a jump on the coffeeshop crawl and get registered before the lines develop.

Hi brothers and sisters!im from greece and i booked two tickets for me and my girl to amsterdam from november 18 till november 26!i heard that in 2010 the law changes and allow only holland citizens to buy weed from the coffeshops,not tha tourists!is that allready happening or not yet?cause i dont wonna go and find out that i can not buy anything!please help me!

Have never been but hope to honeymoon there and trying to find the cheapest way to maximize our smokability. Like to get some feedback on low fares or package deals for the cup itself.

D>Dunne Brum uk I go by myself every year and leave my husband at home he never wants to go. You will have an absolutely insane time and you will meet people and end up hanging with them all the time during your trip (if you choose to). Getting lost is ok but getting lost in Amsterdam with like minded people is great! Solo travel means you are the King of your own destiny no arguing about where to go.

Kresgie, Flying Pig Downtown, not the Bulldog. I've stayed at Flying Downtown 11 or 12 times and would not stay anywhere else. Feels like home!

I'm italian and i'm coming for the first time in amsterdam...i choose to arrive in the city the 21st november to take the cannabis cup's pass before the competition starts! i want to meet FRANCO of the green house,he is italian like me and he wins the 2008 cannabis cup with the super lemon haze... I have been to Amsterdam over 25 times and 12 cups in a row. Here are some facts. The judges pass is well worth it. From the free stuff to the discounted stuff, concerts, seminars, parties, the expo and more. It's more than your monies worth.
You would be crazy not to visit the Van Gogh & Rijks museums, Heineken, music & more between coffeeshops.
The best place to start is at Barney's. They open at 7a.m. and have a great breakfast and the best smoke menu by far.
They are also great for info and directions.
You can find me there most of the time and I can consult you with the best info. Just ask for me. Pittsburgh from San diego.

Hey,I'm going there with some friends from 19th till 24th.Do they sell compiting varieties during the event in the coffee shops? are they easy to be out of stock cuz the many smokers who come or they have enough supplies??

im guna get there early , im guna get to amsterdam on the 15 and leave dec. 6 because i felt it would be the best thing 4 me to do....idk if this helps, hope it does , it a trip to remmber and CANT WAIT!!!!!lol

a tip from somebody who's in amsterdam 4-5 times a year: be there for the cup of course, to get the best weed of the year plus parties, grow seminar and all the bernfits of the cup. BUT then try to stay a week longer to get a feeling what amsterdam and especially the coffeshops are really like. it's a complete different experience, when there are no crowds in every shop. you get to smoke and chill out then and you can really enjoy the nice atmosphere that completely gets lost when there_'s so many people there.

like i said, i get to go to amsterdam several times a year to enjoy this. but this is due to the fact that i live in germany and it only takes me 3 hours to get there. if you're coming from overseas for the cup, just extend your trip for an extra week AFTER the cup....

In reply to your question. If you can't make it during the Cup the defo go the weekend after. All the coffee shops will still be stocked with all the cup entries. IF you go the week before 1.) It will be mega busy and 2.)you might miss some of theh greatest buds ever seen if coffee shops hold back some special sticky icky for the actual event to start!!!!

Definitely get there early. Get to know this wonderful town before the Cup. Meet some of the most friendly and interesting people in the world, the Nederlanders, especially the Amsterdamers. When the Cup starts you are surrounded by Americans.
BTW, you don't need to speak any Dutch, everyone there speaks excellent English. However knowing a few words or phrases in Dutch is greatly appreciated.

Alstublieft, learn to roll a proper Dutch joint while you are there. The Amsterdamers are willing teachers. Come home and practice for a year and then go back next year and show off your new skill.
