HIGH TIMES Cannabis Cook-off

HIGH TIMES is calling stoner chefs and homegrown cooks to submit their favorite weed-infused recipes. Submissions that pique our palates will be tested, and our most original, tastiest entries will be included in HIGH TIMES. If you are an aspiring chef or baker, this is a great opportunity to promote yourself!

Selection criteria will be based on several factors:

-Simplicity
The fewer ingredients and time required to make the dish, the better. Clarity in describing the instructions step-by-step is very important.

-Creativity
Everyone has eaten a pot brownie or a gooball, but have you created an original and interesting dish, perhaps after a late-night bong session? Or out of necessity, have you combined odd leftovers or weird ingredients into something delectably delicious?

-Dosage
Does the food get you feeling "medicated" without the uncomfortable anxiety that is a symptom of too much THC?

-Health
Of course, dessert recipes are appreciated in moderation, but we also want savory, lean treats. Extra consideration will be given to vegetarian, and vegan recipes, as well as those that use hemp foods or seasonal, organic ingredients.

Write out your recipes and email them to cookoff@hightimes.com. If your recipe is selected to be published, you will receive a confirmation email.

We reserve the right to edit your submission for length and clarity. Remember, by submitting recipes, you therby grant permission to the publisher to reprint recipes in HIGH TIMES, as well as in any other Trans-High Corp. publication.

To "KNOW YOUR TOLERANCE" you must first be able to regulate the actual amount of THC you are ingesting. Pure Cure can now tell you how many milligrams of THC is in 1/2 tablespoon of Pure Cure Cooking Oil. 1/2 tablespoon contains approximately 28.5 mg of actual THC ! Pure Cure specializes in custom diets. Patients who have special diets may now medicate through edibles and never mess up their normal diet. Dialysis patients, cancer patients, people with allergies, vegetarians, vegans, any patient can medicate and know how much THC they are using. THAT'S COOL !!Pure Cure link

Here's how I do it. Pot is fat soluble so I use butter not Margarine. I put in 2.5 sticks as that is how much I use in my cookies most of the time.
I melt the butter and stir in enough weed to get'er done. The amount depends on you. I use like a 1/2 ounce of dank.
I let that cook and watch it close. After a couple of minutes I add in a cup of water. I let simmer for an hour or so then I add is some more water and simmer for another hour.
I add the extra half stick of butter to off set the loss you are about to experience.
Place the mix in the fridge over night. The next day the butter will be hardened on top of the water and you can lift it off. Be careful once you break the seal the water will escape, so be ready.
You can use the canna butter as is or go the step and make it better canna butter.
In the extra step you melt the butter down again being careful not to burn it. Filter out the particles by pouring the butter threw some cheese cloth. This gives you clean butter that has a cleaner taste.

Good Luck

I've had several people tell me they shouldn't have eaten a whole cookie...one guy ate 2 and couldn't dial a telephone for a cab home. You think they're too strong? LMSAO!

Butter
Cut & smash stems, stalks, no seeds. Put into a large pot. I used about 1/4 lb crushed stems to two gallons of water. Boiled then simmered for 24 hours. Weighted the whole mess down with a brick. New brick run through the dishwasher. When all is sunk, add pound of butter. Let simmer, add water now & then, pre boiled is best.
Make sugar cookies out of the Joy of cooking. Keep away from children, who if they find them hidden in the bottom of the freezer, will eat them all, then act funny.

If you want to make the best buttter for bread or rolls just try this.

4 grams cannabis ( the best you got)
1 pound butter (room temp)
Grinder

First take and grind the cannabis up carefull to remove any steam pieces or seeds. Next take the butter and place it in a bowl then pour in your green. Blend by folding the cannabis with the butter. When they are well blended take and seperate into 4 balls and cover with shrink wrap and refidgerate till needed.

I don't know how else to do this. First or second year of High times they had a recipe for pot butter using 2 cups of stems and seeds, 2 quarts of water, pound of unsalted butter. It was the best, but lost complete recipe and have found nothing like it since. Anyone have it?

Have you ever noticed the comparison between the courts and the church? In the church you confess your sins so they can be forgiven, in the court you are made to pay for your sins. Both have a jury box as if the church was a court and punished with the verdict replaced with the song and dance of the choir (liar). The church has father (falter), the court a judge with the church a monk (punk) and the court a bailiff. In the court the audience remains quite while in the church they sing like the liar does. The church was a court and was so out of it their government turned them into tax collection courts and the mockery evolved from that with new courts in different buildings. It makes since as it explains the nuns and why they are not supposed to have sex as they had them work as prostitutes to pay off taxes.

Hey HT editors..how about you remove the "." (period) at the end of the email address referenced in the article because if readers click onto the link their mail program will add the email address and period as one and result in an error. JAT
