Edible Adventures at the SoCal Cup, Part 1

Creativity, diversity and innovation greet you around every corner at the sprawling HIGH TIMES SoCal Cannabis Cup, with more than 500 vendors bringing edibles, glass, hash, flowers, apparel and more to the NOS Center in San Bernardino. On a sunny Saturday, I wandered the massive expo sampling a variety of medicated foods and meeting the ganjapreneurs who made them. During my adventure, I covered about half of the booths, leaving many more treats to discover next weekend!

I started my day at Kush Tacos, where you can get tacos with or without a medicated salsa at about 10 – 15 milligrams of THC.

Also available at the Kush Tacos booth, medicated Twinkies called Dankies pack a punch of 100 milligrams.

Over in the AHHS Village, the ladies at Madame Munchie hand out samples of their Cannabis Cup-winning medicated macarons.

Say "high" to Emily and the crew at Utopia Edibles, makers of Cannabis Cup-winning raw, vegan, gluten-free, organic cannabis-infused macaroons.

Created by Chef Sam Christopher, an award-winning chocolatier and pastry chef, Zuma Chocolates blend 20 mg of THC with gourmet ingredients for an elegant experience. Stop by their booth for a sample!

Stock up on savory medicated jerky at Badfish Extracts, and try the new flavors created by Kurt Kaufeldt, including Cannabis Cup entry Maui Wowie and spicy hot Firestorm, each dosed at 100 mg of THC.

As night fell, I headed over to Clean Healing to try a medicated pizza, available with either 5 or 50 milligrams of THC. A family-run business created by a brother and sister, Clean Healing sauces are available in a variety of dosage levels and include high CBD options.

After my dinner of Pot Pizza, I got dessert in the form of freshly baked, still warm cookies at Big Pete's Treats. Straight outta an Easy Bake Oven, these gooey, chocolatey cookies will make your evening sparkle!

Cookies at Big Pete's Treats come in a variety of flavors and dosage options. Get a six-pack of cookies, each dosed at 20 mg of THC for a mellow vibration.

Sunday's panel discussion on "The Emerging Edibles Industry" included Cannabis Cup winners (from left to right): Kim from Madame Munchie, Kenny from Venice Cookie Company, Angela from Lifted Edibles, Maya from Om Edibles, and Emily from Utopia Edibles

Don't miss a cannabis juicing demo with Chef Payton Curry next Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Citrus Pavilion, and demos in the VIP Area every day at 6 p.m.
