Concert Review: Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe
Bowery Ballroom, NYC
Tue, Nov 03, 2009 11:37 am
Taking the stage dressed up as various versions of Michael Jackson, and careening through a raucous show featuring copious covers from the King of Pop’s legendary back catalogue, the reunited (and it felt so good) Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe whipped a largely costumed crowd into a frenzy on a rainy Halloween night in New York City.
With the parties raging all over town, and the Yankees in the World Series, the intimate Bowery Ballroom still felt like the place to be as jazzman extraordinaire Karl Denson led his band through a Jackson tribute that also featured songs off his own latest album, Brother’s Keeper. He’ll be on the road till the end of the year, so don’t miss out!
This bit of YouTube magic should hold you over in the meantime:
