Shannon Corey
If you took a chick Ben Folds and added in a bit of Fiona Apple and Tori Amos, you'd get Shannon Corey. Originally from Rhode Island, Shannon moved to NYC in hopes of pursuing a career in music. For the past two years, this classically trained pianist turned contemporary singer/songwriter has been plugging away at the New York City music scene, playing various venues including The Knitting Factory and late great, CBGB's.
The band consists of piano, bass, drums, electric guitar, cello, viola and violin; all contributing to a pop-rock-classical sound.
Shannon’s debut album unsaid, produced by Charles Newman of Mother West Records, is due out at the end of January. The CD release party will be held at the Canal Room on January 31st. For more info, visit www.canalroomlive.com.
unsaid can be found at CD Baby and on iTunes by Feb 1st.
