The 4th Annual World Marijuana Film Festival

The 4th HIGH TIMES World Marijuana Film Festival (WMFF) will be held in Marina Del Rey, California, on June 26, 2009. The festival celebrates independent films about marijuana. This year, four finalists have been selected to be screened during the one-day event, and one of them will receive the coveted Golden Leaf Award for best independent marijuana-based feature of the year. The finalists include: Cash Crop, The Union, and Strainhunters, (all documentaries), and High Society: A Pot Boiler.

"Marijuana-based films are hot commodities, especially during times of economic turmoil," says festival founder Steve Hager, creative director of HIGH TIMES magazine. "WMFF provides a forum where anyone interested in producing marijuana-related content can meet, network, and get inspired by some of the best work of the year. These are not studio films, but small independent features typically financed on shoestring budgets."

Tickets to the event are $25 and can be purchased at www.apothecarytravel.com. The festival is being held at the upscale Marina Del Rey Hotel on the marina at Marina Del Rey, California. Doors open at 2 PM. Screening times are as follows: The Union, 2:30 PM; Cash Crop, 4:15 PM; High Society, 7 PM; Strainhunters, 8:45 PM.
