The 2012 New York Guitar Festival (January 6 – 29) will kick off with a free all-star concert performance of world-renowned composer/producer Brian Eno’s landmark album, Apollo: Atmospheres & Soundtracks.

2012 marks the 30th anniversary of Apollo – a mesmerizing album that evokes the wonder and desolation of space with a “rich, deeply moving sonic landscape.” While Apollo originally accompanied footage of the Apollo moon missions as the soundtrack for the documentary For All Mankind, the album stands on its own as a virtuosic, thought-provoking, and groundbreaking work from one of the music industry’s most innovative producers.

The Apollo Project will open this year’s New York Guitar Festival with a live performance of Eno’s classic album. This free concert will feature Brooklyn-based ensemble itsnotyouitsme, guitarist Larry Campbell and very special guests Mike Gordon (Phish), Jeff Parker (Tortoise), Noveller and David Torn.

Don’t miss this rare live treat. No tickets or reservations required. The Apollo Project will liftoff Friday, January 6 at the World Financial Center Winter Garden at 8pm.
