Tyte Wurk
Tyte Wurk is simply a product of “the grind.” “The grind” is the hard work, time and dedication put into a project before the measure of success that all artists in every genre strive for, can be achieved. The group Tyte Wurk is the result of creativity, dedication, 1000’s of hours of hard work and vivid imagination.
Kosha and Dirty Black are members of this uninhibited exploration of sound, rhyme, emotion and impulse. They share a common goal of creating carefully crafted tracks, lyrics, and beats combined with an unmatched work ethic. Both of the artists have experienced their personal ups and downs in the music industry and have come together to articulate their own style.
The sounds shaped by this duo are carving out a niche all their own in southern hip-hop today. Their new single “Mary Jane: REMIX,” AKA “The Smoker’s Anthem,” has had a tremendous impact in clubs and on the radio. It is currently being spun on stations that understand great songs deserve to be heard, no matter where they come from
The group is currently touring extensively promoting the single as well as other club favorites, traveling across the country spreading the word. In this day and age of mega-conglomerate music companies that allow little variety in what you listen to, Tyte Wurk offers something different. This is a group that subscribes to no rules, and adheres to no agenda, simply a product of their “grind.”
Tyte Wurk is:
DIRTY BLACK
Christopher Johnson, AKA Dirty Black comes from Panama City, Florida. With an uncanny mixture of talent - writing captivating lyrics, delivered with a melodic range on hooks, or with speed and clarity on his verses - Dirty Black is on the road to becoming one of the most distinguished vocalists in all of hip-hop. Tragedy often breeds triumph, and in Dirty Black's case, the loss of his brother has become the inspiration that wakes him up every morning and pushes him to go that extra mile, stay that extra hour, and work that much harder to accomplish his goals.
KOSHA
Straight from the backwoods of Georgia, Kosha AKA Kelvin Seldon has been rhyming since he could talk. Raised with 7 older siblings in Talbotton, GA, Kosha learned quickly about life, music, and surviving through tough times. His brothers had a makeshift studio in the back of an old funeral home where locals would record. It was the basic principles of recording that would prove valuable later in life. Already an accomplished artist, having appeared on numerous underground Southern mix tapes, Kosha has become well versed in all aspects of the music industry from production to writing to promotion.
