Kottonmouth Kings’ Daddy X: Reflections On The Road – Cloud Nine Tour Update

What's up my good people? Daddy X here, Kottonmouth King Family...it is a stoney night in San Francisco, we are up in the Bay Area playing the West Coast dates on the "Cloud Nine Tour." We started the tour in Upstate New York in mid November and blazed all the way across the country playing shows, pinchin’ the hooch and spreading the good word!! Peace, love and personal freedom!!

I can safely report from the front lines that good herb is everywhere...we used to hit spots of the country that had bunk weed…it seems like high grade has made its way to every town...people are taking their strains more seriously...and why not? The crime is the same whether you grow garbage or chronic...

The 21 Jar Salute: Cannabis Cup Day Two by Danny Danko

It's the day after Opening Ceremonies of the 20th Annual Cannabis Cup and day two of judging sativas from seed companies who enter with the hopes of winning the elusive prize of bragging rights and seed sales. We were presented with over twenty jars to test with fake names randomly assigned from the tarot in order to keep the judging blind and untainted. It's a tough job, but we're slogging through, smoking joint after joint along with vapor hits and bong hits to determine the tastiest and strongest weed. In between, some fruits and snacks cleanse the pallet before we move on to the next variety of pot.

Sativas typically make you giddy and the spirit of the celebrity judges is off the hook. The presence of legendary hip-hop artist Redman has significantly enlivened the mood as well. Redman, also known as Doc or the Funk Doctor Spock is known as every rapper's favorite rapper and alot of that has to do with his skills on and off the mic. He's entertaining as ever and taking his judging duties very seriously and testing each and every jar knowing how much is riding on the decision. Redman also knows his weed, that's for sure.

Stephen and Ina May Gaskin are participating and providing the perspective of years of wisdom and weed. The stories being told in the judging chamber are amazing and I'm honored and humbled to even be in the room.

Is it hard to judge the high while you're already high? Sure, but the stuff that shines through is always worth a second or third look over and we're smoking at a steady and purposeful clip. The narrowing-down process proceeds.

There are so many great strains on the table and it's hard to say anything bad about almost all of them. Do you choose the one that's the strongest or the one that most represents a pure sativa?

After that it's on to seed company indicas and after that the import and dutch made hash. Tonight is the party at the Melkweg with Honkeytonk Homeslice and Moe. I'll be back later with more hits from the blog...

Things To Do While Most Of The HIGH TIMES Staff Is At The Cannabis Cup

Okay, just because 98% of the HIGH TIMES staff left a handful of us here in New York holding the bong while they live it up at the 20th Anniversary Cannabis Cup doesn’t mean we can’t still have fun, right?

Here’s the bottom half of the top 10 things we staffers left behind are doing to keep what’s left of our sanity. Check back next week for the top 5 (assuming we last that long):

DANNY DANKO: LIVE FROM B.C.

After a weekend spent stalking the elusive wild cannabis of Vancouver Island, your intrepid cultivation reporters have finally arrived to a place called civilization. Our brief stop allows us the opportunity to post some of the photos we've acquired and release the info on harvest time in beautiful British Columbia. Canadians work long and hard all spring and summer to get their plants out into the bush and keep them happy with water and nutrients that provide nourishment through the sometimes harsh seasons. This one in particular has been rainy and chilly, making for some stunted growth. Growers have expressed their frustrations with the weather yet still the pot is growing here in record numbers.

FULL HOUSE OF WEEDS

Either way, former child star Mary-Kate Olsen has taken a star turn on the show this season, as a lover of the Lord who also enjoys Lord Shiva. Check it out, and let us know what you think of the show in the comments.
