Snoop Dogg Busted for Pot in West Texas

If you’re a world-famous musician with a predilection for marijuana traveling via tour bus, you should probably steer clear of Sierra Blanca, Texas. Back in late 2010, country music legend Willie Nelson got busted in that small West Texas town with what eventually was determined to be less than two ounces. And, this past weekend, rapper Snoop Dogg was busted in Sierra Blanca for “several joints.”

Nelson eventually pleaded no contest and was fined $500 as well as $280 …More

No Fair: Cannabis Group Banned From Willie Nelson Concert

This week the Nebraska State Fair is being held in Grand Island, complete with carnival rides, livestock petting zoos and kids eating too much junk food. Just about the only thing you won’t find at the State Fair are petitions to sign for the legalization of marijuana, which the Nebraska Cannabis Coalition (NCC) planned to circulate during a Willie Nelson concert to be performed this coming Sunday, September 4. The NCC’s plans were unceremoniously snuffed when State Fair …More

Willie Nelson Pleads No Contest to Possession Charge, Receives Fine

Late last year country music legend and impenitent pot advocate Willie Nelson was busted on his tour bus in Hudspeth County, Texas. Initial reports indicated Nelson had five to six ounces of marijuana on his bus (a felony), however it was later determined that less than two ounces were found (a misdemeanor).

After the arrest, a tough talking County Sheriff, Arvin West, said of Nelson, who was 77 at the time, “He could get 180 days in county jail, which, if he does, I’m …More

Snoop Dogg has come to Willie Nelson’s defense after the country singer was arrested in Sierra Blanca last month. According to Snoop, “Willie Nelson is a legend … Sometimes you need to back up off of certain people and have a certain amount of respect for your elders. And Willie Nelson is our elder … If you got a problem with Willie Nelson, you got a problem with me.”

On Friday morning, November 26 – the day after Thanksgiving – country music legend Willie Nelson was charged by the U.S. Border Patrol with possession of marijuana when officers found six ounces of Willie Weed aboard his tour bus at a Texas checkpoint.

On Saturday night, Willie e-mailed CelebStoner.com and suggested the creation of the Teapot Party: "Tax it, regulate it and legalize it," Nelson said, "And stop the border wars over drugs…. …More

On The Road Again

Interview and photo by Mary Otte

On September 18, the legendary and perpetually touring Willie Nelson played to a full house at the historic McMenamins Edgefield venue in Portland, Oregon. Except it’s not really a house, it’s a lawn, and in true Oregon fashion it rained nearly an inch for Nelson’s set. But not surprisingly, that full lawn wasn’t going anywhere. A mud stomping good time was had by all and Nelson was in top form, giving the crowd hit after …More

News Hit - Willie Nelson’s Tour Bus…

• Moonshine and marijuana were found on Willie Nelson’s tour bus Thursday night. Six band members were cited – but not arrested – for possession. Nelson was not present when the officers issued the citations.

According to the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division, “The band members were very respectful of law enforcement.” Also, “We did it (processed the band members) as fast as possible so it wouldn’t delay the concert.” …More

Poodie Locke – RIP

The first time I met Poodie Locke I didn’t know who he was. I had the privileged of watching my very first Willie Nelson show from the VIP section above the stage at the Old Irving Plaza in New York City. This was ten years ago. I noticed that the tables in the VIP section were filled with two kinds of people: the New York music industry types (I guess that included me) and members of “The Family” – the infamous extended network of road show professionals, support …More
