The answer to that really depends on how the crop became seeded. If it was stressed and hermaphed out then likely the progeny from the seeds would exhibit an increased tendency to produce hermies. If the crop was seeded because of the lack of culling out males... then the likelyhood of some of the seeds possibly being of good genetics is only as likely as the source in which the seeds originally came from being of solid genetics. It's always tough to distinguish a plant's finer traits when dealing with seeded crops, because it took an awful lot of energy to revert its metabolism to produce seed as opposed to flowers. This is why sensi crops can tell you so much more about these finer qualities... Hope this helps

grassmaster: yeah i saw my buds on here>>> sep twenty fifth pics fourth one down on the right is a lower branch of my buds at about week 6 and Im just days from chopping those babies down now. i think i can fit more than a dozen plants in my closet and i will be sure to capture a few shots of my yield. one plant went down early (i think to overwatering dammit!) and i got over a half ounce from it and it only stood about twelve inches but COMPLETELY covered in trichromes, that one plant made my scissors all gummy as hell

eastend budz: If you are looking for a self-contained unit that will fit in a small closet, look the phototron. I have used one many years ago and it worked well. There are many other routes that you could take in a small closet like you describe, but the keyword in your request was "self-contained", which is why I suggested the phototron. It only uses on average, $4 per month in electricty. (base model/before upgrades)

http://www.phototron.com/

I've said it before and it is worth repeating, get Jorge Cervantes growers bible, it's worth it's weight in buds. Oh yea, a subscription to HT is also worth it's weight in buds.

Oct 2 2009, 11:19 am

hey JAING.....dont use anything lees than a 400 watt high pressure sodium when you flower. if you want the best outcome use HPS not LED or T5's. its not worth it to use anything less. HPS will never steer to wrong and keep it 14" to 16" from the tops.
i use T5's to veg.

Jon-E

Oct 2 2009, 11:11 am

my power bill is just over $200 and i run two 4foot T5(8bulbs), carbon filter, A/C, fans, air pumps and a 600 watt hps. so like i said before if you know what your doing and take a sec to look at all the options and not just do the first thing you think of, you can have lots of good stuff ALL the time. sorry i've been out a while....been taking care of "things"....bishop whats up boy!!!

Oct 2 2009, 12:59 am

You would need at least a 150 watt just for the heat. You would also need a good grow lamp. Personally I use the LED for the simple reason that it does not get hot because it does not use filiments as do the lamp. You for sure need a grow lamp of some sort. You dont want your electric bill all of a sudden jump up in usage. That can put up a red flag. Try a LED you will not be disapointed. You will have no jump in your bill. Good Luck

ive been convinced to grow some plants and because the time of the year im doing it indoors of coarse. Is there a certain amount of watts i need in a light bulb? My stupid friend said i can just use an average lightbulb around 60 watts and i know that isnt correct. Thanks for the help everyone. Stay "green".

outdoorsman: Some of us grow indoors because we have no other choice under our current set of laws. While I do see your point about being "green", think about the neighbor that attaches an HID light to the side of his house and blasts it all night long, polluting our night sky. When was the last time you saw the Milky Way? Using all that electricity to grow plants, be it tomatoes for food or pot for pain, at least it is a 'productive' use of power.

BC OrganicMechanic: If you don't see your prized photos posted here, you may want to make sure that you get the next few issues of the printed magazine, you may just find them there!

outdoorsman

Sep 30 2009, 9:05 pm

i am for weed 1000000%. I know everyone says that its green and helps the enviroment and everything which it does. but if you grow indoors doesnt that make you use alot of electricity which is wasted? and that isnt too green if you ask me.

BISHOP: is there any kind of hydroponics store in your area? If youre going to go with the odor neutralizer i found an airwick brand auto spray that costs one third what an ONA costs just buy the ONA PRO spray (which will fit in the airwick device) because that works best for neutralizing the sweet budda smell instead of just trying to mask it> walmart should have the sprayer youll need and it was only fifteen bucks here in canada>

Hey Bishop, 4th one down on the right is one of my white rhino at week 5. Check out the crystal development, and that's just a side branch. I don't know why they didn't post any pics of the colas...
HELP PLEASE: if growin from seed, it will be about 4-6 weeks before you can start them to flowering, which will be another 8-10 weeks depending on the strain. If you want to grow small, then usually the size of the container and when you start it to flower (can be started as small as 8-10" tall) will determine the size of the plants. A plant grown in a 2gallon pot should give you about a half ounce or so

You need too much information from us. Get this book by Jorge Cervantes: http://www.marijuanagrowing.com/dhtml/books_bible.php

Best investment you'll ever make, and it'll save you from wasting your time and money on useless products and techniques. It covers indoor growing and out.

It is our bible. You guys agree?

help please.

_>(Cutter)

hang them on a rope upside down, entire plant dries faster if its all together, dont ask i why i dont know. Or cut the branches down to a workable size. TRIM as much leaf as you possibly can, just be careful not to cut off nug. They should hang fer about 3-5 days. You'll know when there done when the branches snap when you bend them. Almost done, now you have to cure the bud. Either Air Tight mason jars ( walmart), or if you have tupperware containers those will do ( but not preferred). clip off all the nug and place in the air tight storage , fill them only 2/3 or 3/4 full (very important) and seal. at least 2-3 times a day you'll have to air out the containers for air to exchage so the nugs dont mold. After another week or so they should be ready to burn, if the strain is more exotic, I'd cure it for a month..trust me its well worth the wait.. good luck
