How to start and maintain vigorous mother plants.

Strong, healthy mother plants are the cornerstone of any successful grow operation. The ability to consistently regenerate top-quality clones is essential to any garden’s productivity. While almost all vegging plants can provide a few choice clones from their upper branches, a well-groomed mom will provide you with dozens of choice cuttings from multiple branches.

To get a good mother plant, you’ll need to select one special seedling or female clone to pamper. With a heavily noded plant, you can create a bonsai-like mother that will yield healthy clones for numerous gardens. Most people don’t realize that one of the most important keys to creating a successful mother plant is to top the rooted clone early. This forces the plant to increase its primary root system, providing it with the solid foundation it will need to become a small tree. Also, topping the young mom frequently lets young branches grow into healthy, tree-like stalks; this will support all the shoots that grow when you trim the mother.

Every time you take a cutting from a plant, two new branches will grow at the node site below your cut. If you trim a mother plant during the early stage of its life, you’ll wind up with a multi-branched plant, and you’ll be able to take a greater number of clones from a smaller bush.

you dont even need to start flowering to determine sex if you know what your doing. you can catch pre flower signs at microscopit porportion by waiting till the eigth node is developed. generally right in there youll see the "balls" or "hairs"....

on the real tho growing is awesome i only see my plants 1x every 2 3 or 4 days the morning you look n you see like a clump of seeds round stuff during vegatation stage "maybe 1n h alf mo into growing pluck em get them far far away they are males youll see little white hairs FEMALES over 2 or 3 days youll know whats what now your flowering put the timer 12 on 12 off leave em al;one no pluckin buds dummy about 3 months 4rm now your in their like bootyhair wait till plant is maxxed for max thc youll know cuz the hairs are turnin amber is is very imporntant to pluck when rite time im not growing any more that was years aago i quit but theirs a littler advice 2 ya

i got a 4x4 mirroredgrow box n grow nuthin but flame start now get those females ready im pluckin males now im workin on 6 bc females but in a reg grow box 18 on 6 off pluck em early last year 3 lbs of mouthwaterin crystals myprob is drying the hairs were amber but this year its gonna b better it takes practice this is WORK not fun n games watering electricity p food paranoia drying trimmin sellin smokin ooh good luck n dont pluck till there ready lol

I'm trying to grow some marijane from seeds I collected from bud that I have bought. I sprouted 10 seeds in a paper towel. When they sprouted I planted them into some pots that can be planted directly into the soil. They have one set of round leaves and two set of the pointed leaves. How will I tell if they are females? Also, how long before I can have some to smoke.

Thicker buds can be gained by HPS light for a full 12 off 12 on for the whole flower period via a timing device. Outdoors you have limits. PH of soil and nutrients, and full sun will help. indoors thrive alive helps along with 0-5-7 nutrients towards the end. last week pure water with lemond juice to bring ph up. areoponics will help with size. And if all that fails, your strain is of low yeild and best to discard. bigbud,NLxG, Kola to name a few large yeilders. Some plants just are small yeilders. Wait as long as you can before harvest , an extra 2 week wait could make the buds huge; before you cut. Good luck, via con dios

let your seedling grow in the cup for now, as it gets bigger the white roots will be grown out to the sides of the cup, when this happens, transplant the plant, soil roots and all into a larger pot, pack soil around it and on top and water it generously

you will be able to tell if your plant is male or female by looking the 3 or 4th branch internode(where a branch grows from the trunk) before the plant is 8 weeks old, it is a female if it has two pystols growing out and the surrounding branch will have color dots up the branch, it is a male if the node has a pollen sack growing out of it.
