HIGH TIMES SEED BANK HALL OF FAME

Introducing the first annual inductions into the HIGH TIMES Seed Bank Hall of Fame, our list commemorating the brave pot pioneers and trailblazers that make it possible for us to smoke the tremendous amount of quality strains now available.

By Danny Danko

In the Beginning…
Since the dawn of organized agriculture, farmers have traded quality seeds to ensure better harvests. In the United States, hippie folklore places the beginnings of American cannabis breeding for seeds in the early 1960s. Later, the smuggling organization known as the Brotherhood of Eternal Love brought cannabis seeds back from Afghanistan, Nepal and other stops on the Hippie Trail.

Around that same time, the Dutch Provos opened the Afrikaanse Druk Store in Amsterdam and began selling buds as well as distributing cannabis plants for one guilder per plant (at that time, the equivalent of 30 cents). A few years later, Wernard Bruining opened the “tea house” Mellow Yellow and jump-started the coffeeshop revolution.

It wasn’t until the early 1970’s that the first official seed company, Sam Skunkman’s Sacred Seeds, began to distribute the genetic material in Holland to grow the acclaimed hybrids, such as Haze and Skunk #1, that were winning secret harvest festivals up and down the West Coast. Then came the Seed Bank, started by the legendary breeder Nevil—the first seed company to advertise directly to the public in HIGH TIMES magazine.

The Super Sativa Seed Club (SSSC) breeder collective, located in the Hague, continued the work done by Sacred Seeds and became famous for their Durban x Thai varieties as well as the legendary William’s Wonder and M39. Other banks, such as Lowlands Seed Company (Old Ed, RIP, June 7, 2007) and Cultivator’s Choice, continued the work of these pioneers. The names may have changed over the years, but the work done back then ensured that more of our beloved cannabis strains weren’t lost forever.

And so we are proud to induct the following five companies into the HIGH TIMES Seed Bank Hall of Fame as Esteemed Seed Bank Pioneers:

Sacred Seeds/Cultivator’s Choice
The Seed Bank
Super Sativa Seed Club (SSSC)
Lowlands Weed/Seed Company
Positronics.

And now for the first inaugural entrants into the HIGH TIMES Seed Bank Hall of Fame…

Sensi Seeds/Sensi Seed Club
Out of the spent ashes of these earliest seed bank pioneers rose the almighty Sensi Seeds. Founder Ben Dronkers and sons Alan and Ravi created and manage an empire that’s extended into store ownership and a thriving hemp/flax business. Ben began collecting genetics in the 1970’s and officially began Sensi Seed Club in 1988, then partnered up with The Seed Bank in 1991 to form Sensi Seed Bank. Winners of more pot prizes than any other seed company in history and founders of the Hash Marijuana Hemp Museum, Sensi is also one of the oldest of the seed companies still doing business today. Strains such as Superskunk and Hindu Kush solidify their place in ganja genetics history, but they’re not done yet – Sensi introduced new strains this year and plan to continue well into the future.

“Sensi Seed Bank is delighted to accept this induction into the Seed Bank Hall of Fame. On behalf of everyone at Sensi, I’d like to thank HIGH TIMES and its readers, as well as all the activists and cannabis lovers around the world who work towards the reacceptance and celebration of cannabis.
It’s a long, tough fight we’re in, and even though it may sometimes seem hopeless, we the friends of cannabis are in the right and we will win. As a great man once said ‘First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.’
Most of all, Sensi Seed Bank would like to thank all the growers who have taken our F1 hybrids and pedigree cultivars to every corner of the globe and helped them to flourish and multiply. Breeding is only part of the equation; the spread of gourmet ganja always requires the skill, love and attention of dedicated growers.” -Ben Dronkers, Sensi Seeds President and Founder

Flying Dutchmen
Eddie worked originally with Sam Skunkman over 35 years ago at Cultivator’s Choice and honed his skills on the strains that became the basic building blocks of almost all Dutch seeds. Since 1984, Flying Dutchmen has provided quality genetics that harken back to those days of old when strains like Skunk and Haze ruled the world. Nowadays, the Flying Dutchmen shop in Amsterdam sells incredible seeds over the counter as well as glass, hemp clothes, books and nutrients. Look for their Original Haze, The Real McCoy and Thai-tanic for a taste of old-school genetics that have been chosen from large selections over the course of many years. These strains are the exotic flavors you’ve been looking for. You will not be disappointed…

Dutch Passion
The first of the breeders to commercially “feminize” seeds, Henk from Dutch Passion began his enterprise in 1987 and continues to produce premium pot seeds 20 years later. Strains such as Durban Poison and Purple Star kept Dutch Passion at the top of their field and their Super Haze won the Cannabis Cup in 1992. Later, in 1999 their Mazar took 2nd place further solidifying the Dutch Passion name into the annals of pot seed history. Lately, they’ve been working with Strawberry Cough and their newest version of Hempstar called Brainstorm. Another Dutch Passion strain called Euphoria evokes the original Skunk #1 heritage with the sought-after “Roadkill” skunk smell and taste. Years of service to the cannabis community reveal the true passion behind this innovative company.

TH Seeds/ CIA KGB
Established in 1993 and originally known as CIA/KGB or Cannabis In Amsterdam/Know Good Buds, this seed bank became known for their Original Bubblegum but continued to put out winner after winner. Doug and Adam’s MK Ultra and S.A.G.E. (Sativa Afghani Genetic Equilibrium) earned numerous Cannabis Cups and new projects such as Burmese Kush and Sage ‘n Sour continue to rack up the awards for TH Seeds. Their HOG strain caused quite a stir as well after winning the indica seed bank category of the 2002 Cup. California’s best strains are finally represented in Holland and TH Seeds are the grower and smoker’s choice for quality and potency. Stop by their amazing shop Hempworks for the best cannabis-related products in Amsterdam.

“To protect genetics and serve mankind that is our motto. Over the years, many strains have come and gone. Some pop back up to be reborn and others are just legends. It’s important to remember that these seeds represent a lot of work done by many people; Some know each other, others only know the plant itself, but it is work non-stop nevertheless.
So I would like to thank the growers/breeders who have gotten us this far and through their efforts pre-selected and sorted through the thousands of examples to bring to the table all the great flavors such as Sour Diesel, OG Kush, Hogsbreath, and the Purps, and give us an opportunity to work with these already established strains. The seed industry is about growing, sometimes growing together, sometimes growing apart and sometimes alone, but always growing.” –Adam from TH Seeds

Paradise Seeds
Luc founded Paradise Seeds also in 1994, a seminal year (pun intended) that saw the establishment of several prominent seed banks still existing today. The goal was to spread stronger seeds with more power and flavor than the earliest crossbreeds available at the time. Strains such as Sensi Star and Nebula quickly began winning harvest contests as the high resin counts and subtle tastes of Paradise’s offerings became better known. They recently introduced several feminized versions of their quality strains for farmers with no time to waste growing out males. Paradise Seeds have won multiple Cannabis Cups as well as prizes in pot tastings and contests all over the World.

“Paradise Seeds maintains strict selection criteria on characteristics such as potency and taste. This results in the creation of powerful strains which will satisfy everyone who wants to enjoy the sweetest fruits of the Dutch Garden of Eden. Our seeds are grown organically and tested regularly for viability.” –Luc, Paradise Seeds

Serious Seeds
Collecting seeds since traveling through Africa in 1986,
Simon, the breeder behind Serious Seeds, was teaching biology at a high school when Alan Dronkers asked him to come work for Sensi. Simon joined up with the juggernaut for a while but soon found it was time to go his own way. In 1995, Simon founded Serious Seeds with the intention of providing ganja growers with potent yet consistent strains. Famous for focusing on just a few varieties, Simon’s strains are known for their uniform growth and genetic stability. Serious Seeds have won over a dozen cups with legendary strains such as the devastating AK-47 and Kali Mist, one of the world’s finest and most unique sativas. Bubble Gum, Chronic and White Russian round out their illustrious stable of seeds.

Soma Seeds
Years ago, master grower and breeder Soma migrated to Holland from the Pacific Northwest fleeing oppression and bringing with him many of his treasured genetics to infuse Dutch strains with new vigor. Founded in 1995 as Seeds of Courage, Soma Seeds has always been fueled by an intense desire to protect and preserve genetics for future generations. Strains such as Lavender, G13/Haze, Somango, and Amnesia Haze ensure that Soma’s hard work and lifelong love of the plant remain as a legacy for generations of cannabis afficianados and freedom fighters.

“Soma's Sacred Seeds is proud to have been chosen for the High Times Seed Bank Hall Of Fame. Having been a freedom fighter all these long years is starting to bring me some justice. I love the sacred herb and will do all I can to protect her for all of eternity. Much Thanks to you All, Soma”

Greenhouse Seeds
After years of winning Cannabis Cups with his coffeeshops, Arjan decided in 1995 to establish a separate seed company to produce quality genetics worthy of the Greenhouse name. Glories soon followed as strains such as White Widow and Super Silver Haze claimed prize after prize in cannabis competitions around the world including dozens of HIGH TIMES Cannabis Cups. Arjan and his right hand man Franco are constantly on the search for new strains and travel extensively in the pot-producing regions for breeding stock. Check out White Rhino, Hawaiian Snow, and The Church or look into new varieties such as Argan’s Ultra Haze or the original Trainwreck, coming soon.

Legends/ DJ Short
Although breeding since the early 1970’s, Canadian breeder DJ Short burst onto the seed scene with his Blueberry in the ‘90s, culminating in a Cannabis Cup win in 2000 in the Indica Seed Company category. Several companies sell “Blueberry” but none with the careful selection from large populations that are the hallmarks of DJ Short’s process. Fantastic newer hybrids such as Blue Moonshine, F-13, Flo and Grape Krush prove that his methods are sound and necessary for proper pot evolution to take place. Try his Old Time Moonshine (OTM) if you’re interested in a hashy indica with a great taste and high. DJ Short teaming up with Legends Seeds only added to the arsenal as strains such as Legends Ultimate Indica (LUI), Sweet Skunk and Highend continue to be cultivated and celebrated worldwide. Stay tuned for an amazing article by DJ Short about some breeding work he did on his Blueberry in the November 07 issue of HIGH TIMES.

Reeferman Seeds
Reeferman Seeds began as Prairie Fire Seeds around TK in the Canadian wilderness, where a former hog farmer used his breeding expertise and love for old-school genetics to produce stable varieties with potency and bag appeal galore. Strains such as Love Potion #1, Petrolia Headstash, Willie Nelson and  Charles’ Kush win awards and accolades all over the world, with numerous Cannabis Cup victories since first entering in 2004. In the near future, Reef plans to release seeds of his breeding stock, something no other seed company would do (Imagine Coca Cola giving out their soda recipe!) He also plans to drastically reduce the price-per-bean to unprecedented levels in the near future.

"Reeferman Seed Company is proud to be considered for this Hall of Fame. We believe in true breeding principals through population-based selection. Our success has been work-based on deeds, not talk. We believe the only way to guarantee the future of the cannabis gene pool is through actual research.” -Reeferman

Sagarmatha Seeds
Yet another American immigrant to Holland fleeing the tyranny of the War on Pot, Tony established Sagarmatha Seeds with the intention of bringing more varieties from the Pacific Northwest into the Dutch seed mix. Yumboldt, winner of the 2001 Cannabis Cup in the Seed Company indica category, represents the finest of Northern California genes.     Western Winds, an amazing almost pure sativa with a soaring high and intense flavor, further establishes Sagarmatha as among the highest of seeds. Other amazing “Sag” varieties include Stonehenge, Matanuska Tundra and Bubbleberry.

Ms. neilson,

if you have ordered seeds from a reputable seed company such as BCBD, didnt receive them, and now their giving u the run around, its probly because seed companys technically cant send them to the USA (which is where im assuming ur from) and some times they get confiscated by the US postal service. they notify the sender (as they cant prosecute)via rude letters. BCBD might not want to admit that they illegally sent cannabis seeds to the USA, considering thats why we are trying to extradite the prince.... simple advice, if u can support your local growers and strains then do it, dutch and canadian pot is bomb but its not the best, if we all ordered ssh or skunk we be fuckd, but not everyones from cali haha

I ordered from this site: http://www.wix.com/STSEEDS/STS
They talk a real good game. I'm an old-timer, and remember the Alaskan Thunderf**k variety fondly. This site is a complete fraud. They deal with a mail-drop in a Town that's never heard of them. They don't respond to enquiries - they just keep your money! These folks have some bad Karma coming their way.

Homegrown Hydroponics is a rip-off!

They send cheap crap, WAY overprice it, refuse to answer emails, package poorly AND didn't even send the nutrients I paid for. They still will not answer thier emails or send the nutrients!

DON'T waste your money on these thieves "looks like a computer" grow box, or anything else they make either!

There are so many good companies out there, why suffer the aggravatrion I did but dealing with a shitty one?

I really cant understand why HT didnt recognize MR.NICE .. lets face it Howards Marks the founder of MR.NICE and legendary hash smuggler has assembled a group of the most well know names in the breeding world.

neville shoenmaker and shantibaba, these two guys are responcable for many of the cup winning strains for the past 20 years, white widow, great white shark, super silver haze, white rhino... and many more.... many of the top names these days are directly linkes to one or both of these two guys.. let face it GREENHOUSE SEEDS has based there work on nevilles and shantis strains as they both worked for GHS before they left...

and as for feminized seeds, forget them... any good grower can easily find a beautiful female in a pack of seeds, and a suitable male as well to make a few back crosses... feminized seeds are killing the buzz, and are for novice growers who dont know what there doing...

by the way if you look at the price of ten seeds versus 5 fem seeds it works out to the same price usually. the chances of 10 males out of ten seeds is very very low and its usually 50%....

plus mr.nice usually give 18-22 seeds in there packs , for the same price of others ten packs or fem 5 packs... plus you will never have the chance of hermis with regular seeds...

feminized = monsanto.... death from adutch.....

Having someone's IP address doesn't mean much in the first place. You can trace where they're from, but that'll only get you to the City, then what? I don't know why that one guy is sayin "Bust me bitch" all cocky like, kinda retarded, but whatever.

Anyway, Attitude is a very well known and good place. Ordered from em before, and it was great!

I use BCBD for seeds.I hear a lot of complaints but they always provide me withtop notch seeds that always have at least 9 out of 10 germ rate.Prices cant be beat 125 bucks for fem godbud is a great deal.My godbuds yielded more than bigbud and way more potent.Plus they always send me extra seeds to make up for the longer shipping times.Try the purps, godbud, original bc blueberry, plan B black indica or BOG's LSD.My garden is super dank.

Oct 21 2009, 12:10 pm

that is all fine and dandy but i think we should try to focus on the breeders here and not the gripes with fly by night distributors.....are there any breeders out there that are willing to help the gene pool by seeding and selling out the oldest and most basic landrace strains on the planet? Now is the time to open the flood gate to the world and send early genes, pure genes to locations all about....is it truly preserving if the genes aren't shared and redistributed to the green breeders. To the young at heart and skill to adapt and vary the strains and to help midigate the issues of genetic stabilization (witch leads to horrific and unstable prodects) We need fervor and an open grow policy.....everyone can be a breeder! Well ok but alot could if they had the beanz. Are there any places that share like this? Please Help - Genetically challenged in the High Country.....

Apr 30 2009, 1:33 pm

I want to write about Subcool,TGA seeds.I have been growing since 1974 here in Hawaii. One of the best strains I have ever grown (I have grown plenty killer kind ok)was Jack the Ripper I got from BCBD back in 07. All the beans cracked, 5 males 5 female. 94 days days latter CRIPPLER CRONIC. Lets say I have never had better. BUT,as of late the Subcool beans I purchased (JILLYBEAN, JTR,)were small pale and underdeveloped. They were all duds. WHATS UP SUB are the stories about you true. MADOFF TOOK FROM THE RICH SUBCRUEL TOOK FROM THE SICK AND POOR.You tape worm. From Hilo, Hawaii

You might want to check the distributor you ordered from. We caught BC bud depot swapping our seeds out for what ever they had on hand. I hand select every seed myself and take great pride in the fact we provide mature dark striped seeds to our distributors. Once we caught BCbud depot swapping seeds we no longer supply there site.

Our only authorized distributors are
www.hempdepot.ca
www.breedbay.co.uk/auction
www.cannaseur.com

I cant control it when scum distributors sawp our gear for what they have laying about.

This amsterdammarijuanaseedbank.com is definitly no scam. I never experienced such an excellent customer support, high germination rates and fast delivery. I am a frequent buyer and once my order didn't make it. i reported it and i got a replacement. I thought i lost the order since i live in a country where seeds are prohibited. The replacement arrived a few days later by registered mail. If i had to choose a seedbank i would go to amsterdammarijuanaseedbank.com ( i had very bad luck with previous suppliers.

Hey I looking to buy seeds online, does any one know of a good and reliable web-site.
I'm tired of buying clones from the streets, most of the time they don't know what they are and I end up gettting two or more different stands...I'm just looking to get my own healthy mother so I can clone her for my use...I'm looking for quality seeds. I was gong to purchase from amsterdammarijuanaseedbank.com but I seen some complaints...I don't know if they're true but Is there any recommadations...Thanks

Mar 13 2009, 6:57 am

I have also been ripped off by amsterdammarijuanaseedbank.com, ordered seeds over 2 months ago, when i emailed them they replied with details of my order where my address did not include my street name & then tried to blame it on me by saying that i did not provide my OWN address correctly! When i returned to their website the autofill had my full address including the street name, when i pointed this out to them, their e-mails dried up.What they didn't realize is that I am Dutch & I have since opened a case against them with the trading standards department in Holland, who have informed me that they have many other cases against the owners & that they are in the process of stopping these crooks from trading.

So ... DO NOT BUY FROM amsterdammarijuanaseedbank.com THEY ARE A RIP OFF COMPANY THAT ARE BEING INVESTIGATED & KNOW IT.THIS IS WHY THEY HAVE STARTED DOING buy 10 & get 20 seeds free, SCAM.They know their days are numbered & are trying to make the most of it.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED AVOID amsterdammarijuanaseedbank.com.

Is it true that feminized seeds often create hermaphrodite plants, and the genetics are weakened? I am not a grower, wish I was, but I'd like to know.
The strains mentioned from these companies are all top notch, but two really jumped out at me. Sage n Sour is the most potent marijuana I have ever smoked. Sensi Star is another one. It's always around here in Los Angeles, and it's a fantastic med.
If any of you have ever had the great fortune to smoke Green Crack, I heard that the strain was created using a SSSC Skunk #1 and some Indica from California, though I think it was created in Ohio. If anyone knows about that story, I'd love to know if it's true. Apparently, I'm obsessed with GC. Anyway, it's Purple Urkel tonight. Hear that, PURPLE URKEL. Will you guys please cross it and make more seeds? Purple Sensi Star? Purple Sage n' Sour? Not a high yielder, but the best buzz I know of. You guys wouldn't have to put much work in it, the high is perfect IMO as is. Think about it, if you haven't already.
How do these plants get transported from California to Holland? I'd love to know how to do that. If it is legal, I'm an MMJ patient and I'll ship you guys all the clones I legally can. Keep up the incredible work, your product makes my life a whole lot better. I appreciate what you do for the world.

They aren't they only scammers! Never buy from Homegrown hydroponics! They have thousands of incoherent spam posts all over the net(builds their ranking on google, unless they get turned in), and have numerous posts about ripping people off! STAY SWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!

I also have a comment about www.amsterdammarijuanaseeds.com. I have been growing my own smoke for many years and way beyond the novice home grower level. I thought I would give them a try and received 50 seeds and NOT ONE sprouted, I agree with the other post about this company. Don't even waste your time looking at their site or they might slip their hand in your wallet.

I really appreciate High Times mag. as they do a great job keeping "the family" on top of the latest strains.

(contd) A question for you all:

Back in 1994 I grew a 3-way cross, most probably Skunk x Northern Lights X Indian Kerala ; also, most probably, it was from Super Sativa Seed Company (SSSC) Amsterdam, though bought in England. It may have been SK x Haze x Kerala. Does anyone know if these genetics survived SSSC? This was amazing gear and I had one plant deliver 150gms + indoors under a tiny 250w HPS. Anyone know anything about this strain or what happened to SSSC's gene stock?

Limey is back! (see below) Wel, I tracked down where that Maui Mist came from: British Colombia Seed Company. A Haze x Hawaiian apparently. Oh, sweet memories. I cant find a website for these people anymore so guess they went under - shame. Guess you could recreate the strain with your own cross. Am still ploughing through a box of Early Pearl that a mate started outdoors in London. The plant I took on was a heavyily sativa-leaning pheno and was taking too long in our cold, damp autumn so brought it in under lights to finish. Fabulous, functional all in the head high. This year I may try Greenhouse's Opium in a flood and drain. Looks legendary.

hey fellas...i first bought from growhigh in the UK after some research and some fantastic customer service answered my emails very promptly. they are a distributor for some great seed companys listed in our 2007 hall of fame inductees. i purchased seeds by paradise seeds...white berry (10)/ and greenhouse seeds...big bang (70) both all female. total dollars was $420 us. 100 percent germination on 80 seeds. the seeds arrived discreetly and covertly packaged in about 10 days. they are for real.the big bang got me just under 2 pounds per plant outdoor this past summer. i also grow them indoors. the white berry is grown in sea of gren indoors in hydrponic system. currrently i'm getting 1.1 grams per watt from each strain. am i a happy customer...ABSOLUTELY.CHECK THEM OUT AT WWW.GROWHIGH.CO.UK
i have posted in many other forums so that good people dont get ripped off from dirty rotten fly by night scammers.

i recently purchased some from dutch passion. 9/10 were genetic mutants, and the other was a hermie under perfect conditions. i dropped $180 and they were awful seeds. i have grown for 13 yrs now and never seen anything like this. I emailed them and they laughed at me and said it was my fault and to experiment before spending that kind of money.

Now, I know not much about "hippie folklore" or the beginnings of the modern seedbank. But I do know one thing is certain , ARJAN is King, no one even comes close. GREENHOUSE SEED company has won more than 30 Cannabis Cups with no end in sight. GREENHOUSE has quite simply changed the face of modern cannabis as we know it, and thank GOD for that. I mean seriously, if you are growing, buying, or smoking, you have to go greenhouse. Forget tired ole Indicas and drowsy dumb stones. From Indica goddesses like White Widow and Whit Rhino..to the best HAZEs in the world. Nevilles, Super Silver, and the best. Arjans ultra Haze #1!!!. Fucking incredible. Ultra #1 when u smoke it it feels like Hlaf baked when they are floating. Seriously No shit. Try the GREEnHOUSE and youre trying the best and youll thank me when you do! PEACE

Nice to see positronics up here. I started with some of their strains back in 1994 as they were easy and inexpensive to buy here in the UK. I think their Cali.OrangexSkunk#1 was my favourite: low yields but fabulous puff. From 1994 onwards I grew strains from a variety of houses, including the very strange Quicksilver from KGB/CIA (now THSeeds), a whole host of strains from Sensi and, my all time favourite, Maui Mist (which I think was a Dutch Passion strain). The only duff seeds I ever bought were Lambsbread, and I don't remember where they came from. I'm not growing now - though am hoping to start up again - but shouts of respect to the growers from all these banks who helped me knock out legendarily strong gear, back in the day.

I live in in south carolina where the scene is bleek at best. So i know my opinion will have little impact on anyones thinking.I am a small timer with big dreams, anything with real quality is a rarity around here. And if you get it HOLD IT !!! Its really SAD. Anyway. Ive had two bad experiences with reeferman. Once i got some big thunder and some other strain from rfmn along with some god seeds i got from the bcbd. Same germination technique right next to each other in two little domes. I got 22 of 24 God beauties, while on the other side i got like 2 little weakly bat wing looking things. I contacted rfrm via internet several times and never got so much as a response. Confused yet unoffended I brushed it aside because all of the good things ive read about rfrm and I ordered again for white rhino from GH through rfrm. Again, low germ rate, and i got some free seeds that were supposed to be Oregon. One beauty germed and she grew to be a huge frosty sativa. best we ever had around here and absolutely covered in resin.Ive never seen anythinglike it before or after( not even in a magazine)But needless to say, i didnt take clones because i could never contain the size of it given my application restrictions.Ever since ive stuck with bcbd and never recieved any less than what ive expected No disrespect to rfrm, but why arent bcbd on the list?

My own seed program; 15 years of selective backyard growing, picking the earliest and most fragrant to cross-pollinate each year, it's an indica/indica/sativa cross. The challenge was to develop a breed that will begin to bud in July and finish before the cold dampness of early fall. I have moved mature bloom timing from mid/late october when I started, to now more than a month earlier. Just took down the last of this years, and it is better every year. So the result of all this is I now have my own strain which will easily grow to maturity in the cool damp Pacific Northwest maritime climate zone. Bonus is that it is organic grown in 5 gallon buckets, resulting in small lush plants easily concealed in any backyard, except for the smell as they mature. Point of this post? How can I share this seed safely and anonomously? And is there an interest in the results of this type of long term breeding program?

Lowlands seed company was more of an idea then a reality, meaning the seeds were often crap. I grew all of their varieties in Calif in 1984 they were crap. The people were growers not seed makers.
Positronics sold other peoples seeds at first and then made copies to sell.

Hey Sesh

Rez is nothing but a pollen chucker who has abused the greatest genetics in the pot world (the Dawg lineage) and created awful hermed out beans. How can someone get a clone and have the selfsame "seeds" 3 months later. He is a joke with no punchline.

Skunk #1 sam the skunkman bred
Durban in all forms sam the skunkman bred.
California orange -skunkman-
Hindu kush -skunkman-
chitral-skunkman-
The first hazes in holland-skunkman
haze/skunk -skunkman -
Durban /skunk-skunkman

Skunkman introduced nevil to ROB CLARK clark sold him early girl , early pearl , northern lights all Northern lights lines came from clarke they were all seeds no clones were brought to holland there were 5 nl seed lines the clone story is BS.
There are many many more lines that nevil just purchased infact most were purchased I have just touched on a few strains many many more were bought from skunkman and clark and a huge number more maybe as many as 20 were collected in cali and washington by Ed rosenthal and sold to nevil , when I first met nevil he was selling bag seed for .25 gilders per seed and buying them for cheap at the same desk .
Clark knew enough to just demand $ skunkman got screwed for his genetic contribution he was not paid for skunk or durban or anything eles sold by other banks .

Hey Danko I had a thread on the reeferman site I was told that none of the feild selection pics were used just a bud and seed shot perhaps I was misinformed .
Hey its your magazine I just thought that those pictures were the first pictures of a breeding program I have ever seen except for the old pictures from Skunkman and clarke , I am not suggesting that I should dictate your editorial however the topic is breeding and I provided you with unpublished pictures of a massive breeding project , Newman84 Gypsy is not a breeder he's a middleman ,its nice to see gypsy has such special public reps ! Its too bad that you at hightimes chose not to include the actual feild selection process pictures I shared with you for the article I think readers would have liked to have witnessed 18-20,000 plants all labled and being isolated for selection based on the pricipals passed on by skunkman and clarke.

Reeferman

Aug 16 2007, 8:08 pm

Its nice to see you guys paying respect to Sam the Skunkman with out his work the scene would not be the scene remember that nevil and most others like positronics purchased there early seeds from Skunkman Rob clarke and later Ed rosenthaul and relabled under new names A friend of Skunkmans and a real pioneering american in holland told me about when skunkman walked into his office and tried to sell him the first skunk seeds he laughed and told him we get seeds from bags we dont buy em , he left a handfull with him and what the dutch press would call the "skunk mafia" was born , I have lived in holland and traveled all over the world and to be honest most of the dutch seed banks still live off the gravey of the early pioneers today simply re-mixing the old genetics and calling them new names today .
Its a struggle to maintain real breeding programs it takes risk and its harder today than ever without pioneers Like skunkman and clarke there would be nothing to remix so the genetic family would be even narrowerer .
