GANJI'S GROW JOURNAL -- Day 264

Thu, Jan 15, 2004 2:59 pm

Planted five more Sweet Tooth seeds early this week, and they’re already up and growing. Now that the rotation is in full swing and transplanting is being done regularly, I only need to water every third day. This is a good development. Ganji’s transplanting schedule is now allowing the plants plenty of medium to continue growing quickly, and is holding enough water to provide for their needs. It’s better to transplant a little early than a little late. --MAX

Been watching the humidity in the flowering room this week. It’s spiked up to around 85% and is staying there. I’m finding condensation on the curtains when I raise them. It doesn’t seem to be affecting the plants though. They all appear to be in excellent health and are producing a lot of bud. Found and pulled one male plant from the five that I put in last week. Two NL#9’s will be ready in a few days, and I’m preparing for another harvest and rotation.

This is not a good development. 85% humidity is very high and could cause problems if it isn’t brought in line soon. Mold, fungus, and insect infestation are all possible consequences of high humidity. I presume there has also been a corresponding rise in the temperature as well. Ganji will probably have to provide more ventilation and may need a dehumidifier to bring the humidity down. Either way, he’ll have to take measures to correct the situation before it becomes a problem. --MAX

Decided to move the drying chamber upstairs to an unused bedroom. The humidity in the basement right now will make drying down there difficult.

Actually, it will make drying nearly impossible. I’d recommend putting a personal fan in the new location to facilitate drying and to be patient and let the harvest completely dry, which may take up to two weeks depending on conditions, to avoid the potential problems listed above. --MAX
