DEPARTMENT OF GROWROOM SECURITY
Protecting your clandestine cannabis crops means understanding the law, staying quiet and neutralizing odor and noise. Can you keep a secret?
Thu, Oct 13, 2005 12:05 pm
Growing cannabis can be one of the most rewarding endeavors anyone can undertake—a challenging and relaxing pastime with a sweet, potent payoff. But we all know the downside: Growing weed is illegal, and the consequences of getting caught practicing this ancient art can be devastating. Anyone deciding to give cultivation a try should go into it with his or her eyes wide open. They should take every precaution, prepare for and know what to do in the event that the worst happens, and understand the ramifications of pursuing this particular kind of civil disobedience.
Before you begin, you must do a gut check. Understand that you’re taking a risk and that no amount of planning, secrecy or luck is foolproof. If you get caught, you could be facing anything from fines and/or probation to serious prison time.
You need to understand the laws in your area, such as the difference between a misdemeanor and a felony charge and how each is determined. For example, it may surprise you to know that in some areas cultivation is only a misdemeanor, while possession can carry felony charges depending on how much cannabis is seized.
Some jurisdictions charge based on weight, which can include seeds, stems, foliage and even the root-ball. The definitions can also be quite arbitrary. In certain places, any amount up to 3 ounces and 27 grams brings only misdemeanor charges, whereas 4 ounces warrant felony charges. The difference of 1 gram can turn a legal nuisance into an absolute nightmare. You need to know where the line is drawn in your area. (For a state-by-state guide to marijuana laws, go to norml.org.)
Other jurisdictions charge based on total plants seized, in which case a number of small clones or seedlings with no appreciable THC can be legally worse than one huge plant with copious, potent buds. Knowing how things work in your area can help you decide which propagation and cultivation techniques to use.
Cultivation and possession are one thing; selling weed is a whole other matter. Getting busted with large quantities along with items like scales and baggies can result in much more serious charges. Consider all of these issues before you begin, decide what your risk-tolerance factor is and what you’re willing to accept.

Outdoors we planted 20 May 2/05. Killed 13 of them due to recklessness brought on by some killer Canadian Hydro. We planted 60 4 weeks later. After fighting off two rounds of beetles we poisoned 20 more (dead).
Harvest brought each of us 7.5 lbs.
We all need to remember the clone guy on our Christmas list.
It was serious business hanging all that herb for 10 days. Not to mention the selfish solo clip session. (presently unemployed) but have a great cash flow!!
Across the River from Detroit you can get $700.00 a quarter lb.
Very Sincerely

there are 3 main bugs that effect MJ indoors..and especially indoors spider mites, red and black, aphids and white fly. Out doors nature tends to take care of these things.
there are a few things you can do to get rid of them and you HAVE to get rid of them. You could go down the natural path, which is probably preferred if you were only a few weeks from harvest. Ladybugs, praying mantis both eat spidermites both red and black and will eat all of these bugs and in good time too, you might be able to find a few in the garden....
or the pestacide way, which is ok if you are in veg or just turned back to flower. I use YATES bug gun. this does nearly everything and certainly all of these pests.
Garden Shop, should be about $10.
Spray on the underside of the leaves, grab the stalk at the bottom moving your hand upwards spraying as you go..drown the plant in this shit. You need repeat the process in 3 days to get the eggs that hatch...it might say that it kills the eggs too but I would still repeat just to be sure...1 spider mite will multiply to 500 in three days and in another 3 days..well 500x500 what everv that is...thats a lot of bugs.
these bugs have obviously come from somewhere I would check out in the garden for any sign of them..spray that too.
to avoid getting bugs in the future always dust your clothes off and wash your hands...a clear sign of mites...before they lay webs is tiny brown spots on your leaves..like freckles...once the webs appear it means theyve been there for a while. After the process and all the bugs are gone spray with just plain water to wash any residue that could clog the leaves. I use just PLAIN SALT FREE soda water. when you are finished this room, wash everything, pots, walls, floors...even the path that leads to the room...
your pets are safe, they are just a garden bug..trying to get bent lol.

It has been impossible to find a cannabis friendly Doctor - much less two that would put a note "marijuana will have a possitive effect on..." in the medical file.
Geeze even looking causes problems - Doctors do not want to deal with a person who smokes. It even helps breathing for someone with pnuemonia. Stupid government.

Will the spider mites leave the leaf when the leaf is cut off?
Will they infect leaf that has already been cut.
Is any of that salvageable?
Do spider mites infect cats, dogs, pets?
Do they infect humans?
How long do spidermites live off of the plants?
Do they infest the dirt?
What is the best bug spray?
Damn I wish I could do a copy and paste hear!
Thanks for your help

Its people like you that need to speak out about the legalization of marijuana. society does't listen to the adverage pot smoker, but when they hear it from a doctor it's a different story. Ive heard from a doctor that.... for pregnant woman, if thier baby is kicking or unsettled that it's ok to smoke pot....what do ya reckon about that???
I would think it is OK...like ya said one of the SAFEST drugs known to man....little or no harmful side effects..its just what I heard..

Your Plants are too high, no need to grow them so tall. You need to keep them short. My plants are about 1/2 a meter tall at the end of flowering. light only penertrates about 12inches so any taller and you are just waisting time and energy.
for starters I would go for just straight HYDROPONICS, its cleaner and easier, but costs a bit to set up.
I am not too sure about your flouros, normally I would just use a HPS, for your room a 600watt with an adjusta shade and SUNMASTER Globe. It seems there is enough light...see how ya go.
to keep your plants short, you can tip, just pluck the middle of the stalk out, right down the bottom where the first 2 branches are, this gives you 2 main branches..do this again in a few days..when there are 2 more branches..(nodes). once you have 4 nice main branches grow them until they are about 4- 5 inches and then kink them over(squeeze your thumb until the stalk cracks then bend out to where you want it( toward the 4 corners of your pot. As your plant grows keep doing this until you have a bush about 8 inces tall and should be covering the entire pot...once you have that, flower it. you plant will grow another 2/3rds so keep that in mind.
how much is your yield from the last time?
give me your email and I will send you some info on how to build a growroom and a weekly grow guide

Thanks for your comments -
Craig,
I am real new to this (like weeks) and she is about a 6 months new)
I am dealing with chronic pain - 8 degeneritive discs anb 7 that are herniated plus joint desease & cancer. I am on morphine & other narcotics for pain (that is why I am a bit slow on the uptake - it took 3 days to find the sight where I posted this) She is going through chemo and has other issues. The cancer was how we met.
Theses are the things I know about what my friend Kally did on this last set of ladies.
She started using seedling box - once they were 2-3 inches she transferred them to a cup size peatmoss container and mirical grow garden soil - at 10" she put slits and cut out the bottom of the peatmoss container & transferred them to a sterilized plastic flowerpot with bottom drainage using MG garden soil - at 20" & 3 prunings (creating multiple shoots - 3-5 on each of 6 plants) they were replanted in individule 4-1/2 gal (0.8 cubic ft) planters. at that time they needed to be taken away from the sun window and put in a conceled area. The flourecent lighting in this 3'x 5' area is 2- 4' 6500watt bulbs 2-4' specialty blue spectrum bulbs (1800watt range) and 2- 24" 1800watt bulbs, one on each end perpendicular to the 4-4' bulbs. They are now She said that most of this technique was from something that was given to her from online - which I just found out was over 8 years old. So if you could take the posture that I am very new, ignorant of terminology etc and help us through this tat she could save something of what she has
2 final notes - each previous time all was the same except the store bought dirt - MGgarden soil was the only stuff that did not come with bugs - there was one major brand that was just full of these natts. I feel so dumb that I cannot find the bondage and bud place that you suggest I go look. is there a way that we can do this by email - I feel even dumber by posting all of this.
Thanks

I will give you the run down..if you grow indoors, in dirt you really need to be a fucking genius to get it right...%90 of problems come from dirt, even more if you just dig it from your garden...not enough of this, too much of that fungus, mold, bugs(most) all breed in the medium, with ideal conditions( humity and temp.)these problems escalate ten fold..you got to be onto it before it happens, it's to hard to correct after the fact. It can be done but the plants suffer. out doors, in the ground most of these problems are taken care of by nature.
If you are having troubles with dirt go for straight HYDRO. Hydro is a no brainer.
no bugs, no mold, no nutient deficientcies. Its a recipe, if you can bake a cake you can gro hydro.
Flouros are ONLY good for CLONES. If you want tight buds you need HPS. 400's are great, but any where you hang a 400 a 600 will do better, bigger and fatter heads. sunmaster globes are the BEST. designed for indoor growing not for hanging over a fucking BASKET BALL court.
your room needs to almost be perfect, every 5'(1500mm) of gro space you need a 250mm(300mm if you can get it)exhuast fan and 1000 watts of light minimum. and fans need to be on, ALL the time.
go to Bondage and buds scroll down and find the post i did yesterday
and go look at my bud.
if you need info let me know.

A Friend went through 2 crops due to those nasty things you described. First They can come in the soil you buy. Fungus/mold nates. They have been sprayed directly with all sorts of stuff and keep coming back. The only way to get rid of them is not use any other soil except mirical grow GARDEN soil. Even the MG Top Soil may have them. Another thing is she completly treated her grow room (3ft x 5ft room) and the 3rd thing is she used 4 - 3ft dowels with a long flag (strip) of yellow duck tape and petrolium jelly. She finnally got a crop to grow larger than 20" she is still having problems gardening.
Good Luck

sound like White fly, R they white.
if so its not too much of a problem. You should be able to get a good bug spray from any garden shop, one that covers spider mites, aphids, white fly, these are the 3 main bugs you get indoors. you have obviously got them from you outdoor garden, just treating your room will not be enough, they will just come back. Check around the house and see if you can find them in yopur garden, treat that too. since your plants are just small they should recover fine, Ive used just a basic hous hold fly spray before with these flies and it works fine. just remember to wash your plants after wards, Use a salt free soda water.
hope I ve helped

Oh..I went into my favorite local head-shop the other day to pick up an issue of high times. This is an old school shop that has been open since 1972. Got talkin with the owner about the mag and he say's "I've got something to show you." He soon comes back with the first issue of High Times, 1974.
That made my day to see an original first issue. And it made his day to share it with me..being much younger than him...sort of bridged a gap between oldschool and newschool.
All I want is peace and great smoke. Is that too much too ask.

As for scales. Hide your scale far away from your stash and hide it even better. try keep your herb all in one bag, even if it means keeping a running total of weight of what is yours and what is for sale. Hide your money at someone elsees house. Take this advice from someone who didnt do this and is now sitting on the bench waiting for his chance to bong again1 in two years, when probation is up. get the best wire detector you can find. get hidden closed circut cameras so you know whos at the door.
