Hi everyone! I have a real critical question here that i hope someone could help me with. Well, l have real healthy plant that my room mate and i have been getting a cool kick out of watching her grow now over 7inches since we acclimated to outdoors. She was given to me by a good friend that is strictly dedicated to his indo (indoor).. She stands about 3 ft. I really thought that she was on her way out especially after i had left her in a garage for two days baking with no water and no light. Im sorry baby!!!! She is good today. Now getting bushy, and greener than ever about 7 branches filling in. I wanted to take a couple of vegetive cuttings off of her tops but my room mate really just suggests that i not because i may be sacrificing a good bud quality or production?? It is my understanding that flowering is right around the corner?? Two months or so? Will my cuttings do anything for me at this point? or should i just let her bush up and flower? Can someone please give me a hand? Thank you for your time :) Peace and Love to all my green peeps!!!!

i give a two hour mini lecture on growing medical grade cannabis for 20.00 dollars to all legal card holders in maine.i have been growing for over thirty years with 11 of that running a comercial grow operation. i can see paying 200.00 for a seminar that can show you techniques that can improve upon your current knowlege or give you knowlege you do not already possess.as cannabis becomes more accepted as medicine and the push for legalization gains momentum this knowlege could be very profitable.Grow Your Own Medicine...Vote for Legalization

Had an amazing time at the grow clinic in Warwick in October. I would highly recommend this event to anyone interested in growing regardless of your level of experience. I am a beginner cultivator and I learned a lot of incredibly useful tips and am very happy with my current seedling. Nico and Danny have such a huge wealth of information - do not pass this up if you can make it!

kentucky

Dec 10 2010, 10:28 am

I would like to say that Kentucky is the greatest state to live in. Everyone seems to greet you with a smile and a wave as you pass by. They make you feel at home wherever you go. It just seems to be good ol’ southern hospitality. But we need to think about our future to grow. Legalizing hemp will put our farmers back to work and create new industry for our future generations. Decriminalization and legalizing its cousin marijuana for medical use will boost the economy as well as create new industry. It will reduce taxes spent to police a problem that is drastically draining our economy as a state and country. President Obama already said to the states where it is legal for medical use that as long as the population follows the guidelines set forth by the state government that the Drug Enforcement Administration and Federal Bureau of Investigation should not waste federal manpower to pursue these matters (Abrams 2009). With changing these laws in Kentucky and getting the federal government to approve and apply the set changes we can stop wasting money on a problem of policing hemp and marijuana and put it back into the economy for a better use.

This is such an amazing entry and I love to read more of it so that I will be able to look over and have it as an inspiration for further articles to write about when it comes to updates on legalizing marijuana and it's pros and cons too. We had a great time. Nico covered grow basics and had some cool info about new lighting systems. Danny covered everything from organics to hash making. These guys were cool too. They answered questions and hung out with us all.
Allen St. Pierre, the Pres. of NORML gave a interesting talk celebrating how far we have come and reminding us we have to keep up the good fight before we can all enjoy real Marijuana Freedom.
We drove up from DC for this. If you get a chance to go to a High Times seminar in your area make sure you go. You won't be sorry.
Many thanks to Dan Skye and the High Times crew for a great day.

RE: all complaining about the price.

YES IT SUCKS!!!!!! But what you have to understand is, no matter what, seminars always cost a bit of money. I'm a horticulture student that graduates in the spring. Seminars that I've been told about for greenhouses, lawn turf, pesticides, etc. are all in that price range.
I'm looking to the future. Sure I can read books and magazine articles about growing(I assure you, I own quite a few) but hands on experiance, seeing it first hand presented by someone who has been growing for years, well it's priceless. The more people you talk to, the more things you hear about that work or don't work. Not everything works for everyone.

See yinz there that are goin', maybe I'll write Moagie on my forehead

I've been out of work for nearly 17 months......no way I could justify that price. My new job could have been as a horticulturist.

Oct 16 2010, 10:31 pm

r we really that surprised @ SUPERCOP??? i mean, c'mon, if these pigs didnt bust people who r, in essence, doing something that has been scientifically proven to be more safe than alcohol, cigarettes, & prescription drugs...all of which, these porkers most likely indulge with their hypocritical, donut eating *sses, it would mean they would have to get off their ignorant, moronic tushes & catch people who r actually doing bad things...such as child molesters, murderers, rapists, etc. funny, when even the former head doctor working for the DEA released a statement saying he believed marijuana to not only be safe, he also believed it to have many therapeutic and medicinal qualities. we should all know by now how corrupt our legal system is. absolutely frustrating and maddening to think about, isnt it??? do u like pork? i surely dont.

READ!!! GO BUY A GOOD GARDENING BOOK OR DOZEN AND GET A Ph TESTING UNIT AND KIT FOR TESTING YOUR WATER AND SOME ORGANIC GARDEN SUPPLIES LIKE GOOD ORAGNIC SOIL AND PERLITE, SULFER AND SOME DOLOMITE LIME AND THE BUG KILLER AND GET A REASONABLE LIGHT SET UP FOR YOUR SPACE AND GO GROW YOUR OWN AND LEARN.

BIG MONEY NEED NOT BE SPENT.

START EARLY AND SET YOUNG SAPLINGS OUT LIKE TOMATOES AND GROW A YEARS SUPPLY IN ONE SUMMER!!!!!!!!!

FREE YOUR MIND, FREE YOUR PLANET, GROW YOUR OWN!!!!!!!

that's good to know, unfortunatly i do not deal with that type of affairs. But my patients do, hopefully the state of new jersey can develop their ATC Law for medicinal Use; that way patients do not need to be apart of that type culture.

re: vdub

Oct 7 2010, 10:23 am

you can keep paying a ton of money to your dealer or a dispensary for bud, or you can pay two hundred to learn froom the experts how to grow it yourself. seems like you are the one getting ripped off.

Vdub

Oct 7 2010, 1:55 am

Wow 200 dollars for one ticket. this is a rip off. you re charging sick patients this price is morally wrong. i dont mind that you re charging a fee but dam 200. this is obviously not for the patients but more of a profit. i work for the hospital in jersey and i see my patients getting ripp off by the health care system. i thought this is different but i guess im wrong. im all for your movement because my patients get relieve from this medicine, im ashamed to thought you guys are for the people.

wow, SuperCop, you're awesome. any reason you love arresting people for doing something equivalent to a person having a beer or cigarette? something even arguably less harmful than beer or cigarettes? what harm is someone doing to you if they're smoking some marijuana? what if someone told you that you were no longer able to have a beer after a long day on the job busting those dirty pot smokers? or no longer able to smoke that cigarette, even in your own home?! or even if you do not imbibe in either of these "drugs," what if you could no longer have coffee because of that "drug" caffeine. or what if someone said that you, as a private citizen not on the job as an officer, cannot possess a firearm? i feel i have the honest right to choose what to put into my body. i understand the government's desire to protect their citizens and land from the undesirable consequences of drug use, but where is the harm from marijuana use? yes, there are possible harmful effects of marijuana, although there has been substantial research finding marijuana also having many positive effects. but does marijuana cause a person to become violent and irrational, such as alcohol sometimes does? no, marijuana does not. does marijuana cause persons using it to become so hopelessly addicted that they no longer care about anything else, just getting high, such as crack, meth, etc.? research indicates that no, marijuana does not cause physical addiction, although sometimes mental addiction may manifest in a person, and cases' evidence also indicates that marijuana does not lead to a person to become hopelessly addicted, committing other crimes just to get high. when's the last time you heard of a case where a poor young girl started selling her body to support her addiction to marijuana? i'm sure there are cases where a girl has sex with someone because she wants free weed, but is this girl really addicted to the marijuana? or does she just have poor moral values to begin with? dependence on substances like meth are often heard of as reasons girls get into prostitution, to pay for her habit or get free drugs. yes, one could argue that she had poor moral values to begin with, but when asking if she was truly addicted to the meth, would she say yes? most likely.
basically, why are you so intent on busting marijuana users? they pose essentially no harm to the public, and even arguably no substantial harm to themselves. you are arresting people for smoking a plant. the only difference between a cigarette and a joint is the type of plant in each. oh, that and all the admitted and known addictive chemicals in cigarettes! we should have the right to choose what we put into our bodies. marijuana does not cause a substantial enough harm against the user, other persons, or society as a whole to justify prohibiting consumption and criminalizing it. how do people really "abuse" marijuana? do they cause a lot of harm by getting really baked and walking to the 7-11 and buying a lot of tasty snacks? oh wait, that's contributing to the economy, and looks like our economy could use some stimulating. if marijuana is legalized, do you know how many people would want to start a business involving any part of the process? people would want to grow, people would want to start up a shop, there would be brokers needed, lawyers for business arrangements and contracts. the government would receive taxes from revenue from all of these sources. the more goods and services being exchanged, the more taxes being levied. if marijuana wants to be legal and be afforded the protections of the law like alcohol and tobacco does, they must also adhere to the laws protecting the consumers and pay taxes, fees, etc. imagine how much the economy could be stimulated by the simple legalization of the use of one plant. yes, people could still grow their own, just as people can brew their own beer, make their own wine, or even grow their own tobacco. but many people rather just use a much easier means of obtaining these goods and go down to the local marijuana shop and buy an 8th, thus contributing to our economy by exchanging more goods and money and taxes.
so come on, super cop. smoke a j, be happy

SuperCop

Oct 3 2010, 12:34 am

Pot may be legal but people still abuse it. That's why I love arresting any of you idiots who pull the "you can't do anything to me" card. The sooner they make it illegal again the better.

re: grower

Oct 2 2010, 5:22 pm

in response to "Grower," who spoke of how charging patients how to grow is deplorable...
really?? let me ask you this, do universities charge students to learn how to become pharmacists? yes. High times is charging not just for the knowledge, which itself is valuable, but also for their time, energy, overhead, etc.. people always think that just because its marijuana, everything should be free or extremely cheap. it's a commodity, a good, just like anything else in our economy. no one is going to teach you how to become a doctor, lawyer, teacher, etc. for free. Maybe it's not right to charge just for "knowledge," but people have to be compensated for teaching you and imparting that knowledge to you..yes, medicine should be readily available to all those that need it...but the sad truth is, it is not, and cannot be. there are not nearly enough resources to support our worlds population. and before you go off saying that the top 2% or whatever of the world's richest people have most of the money, remember that money is not a resource. it simply buys resources. you may have all the money in the world, but if the resources are so limited that they are depleted, it would not matter how much money you have.
but you know what?
i still love free weed.

Please give heed in your growing seminars the possibilities of starting major fires or huge water leaks in your apartments. We don't need newspaper articles of guys putting 400 watt bulbs into cramped cabinets and starting a fire or guys flooding the downstairs apartment with hydroponic systems held together with blue-tack.

What a drag.. A friend of mine is probably going to move to the Netherlands on a permanent basis (looking for a job there that he is probably will get).

The problem is that he is very 'anti' considering any drug except alcohol. He is weird kinda man, he is into reggae, yoga, martial arts, healthy living, vegetarianism, and all that, but still avoids anything having to do with drugs... growing outside might be free in terms of light water etc. but i'm sure like most outdoor turnouts you've noticed outdoor simply isn't as good in most cases. im not saying certain climates don't provide nearly optimal growing conditions but in every single case i've gotten anything grown outdoors its price reduced as well as less flavorful and much less appealing to the eye. it gets you high but the buds get really weathered looking compared to some beautiful indoor that was really shown some lovin. outdoor will almost guarantee a bigger yield but 99% of the time less presentable buds

GROWING MARIJUANA IS FUN AND EASY!!!!!!

ALL THIS HYPE ABOUT HYDRO AND SPEACIAL LIGHTS IS ALL FINE AND DANDY BUT THE EASIEST WAY TO GROW IS OUTDOORS BABY.

FREE LIGHT AND SOIL AND FREE WATER.

EITHER WAY IS EASY.

FIVE GALLONS OF MIRICLE GROW POTTING MIX AND A SMALL HANDFULL OF LIME AND ONE OR TWO PARTS PERLITE TO YOUR MIRICLE GROW POTTING MIX DEPENDING ON HOW OFTEN YOUR AREA NEEDS WATERING USUALLY DEPENDS ON THE AMOUNT OF HEAT YOU HAVE.

OUT DOORS IN NORTH AMERICA MARIJUANA REQUIRES A BIT OF A HEAD START LIKE TOMATOES DO.

START TO GROW SOME BABY PLANTS BEFORE THE SPRING TIME WEATHER WARMS INTO SUMMER AND SETTLE THEM IN WITH A GOOD LONG DRINK OF WATER AND PRAY FOR RAIN UNTILL FLOWERING TIME ARRIVES IN THE FALL.

MOST ANY DIRT WILL DO AS MARIJUANA IS HIGHLY ADDAPTABLE.

HAVE FUN., EXPERIMENT AND HAVE FAITH YOU WILL LEARN TO GROW.

Wow How much are you charging for this. If you want to charge people a VERY small fee to learn how to grow Dank Herb that they'll profit from that's reasonable. But to charge MEDICAL patients money to learn how to grow MEDICINE that they need is GREEDY!! Some people need cannabis as medicine and to try and profit off of sick people who need medicine and need the info to grow it for themselves is deplorable. I grow for 3 patients (state limit) and I don't make a DIME!! i WORK MY ASS OFF AND I cover the cost of operations and there is NO PROFIT, because I want to help those in need with one of the most amazing plants on the planet. To promote this as a Medical grow seminar and charge patients is HORRIBLE. GET YOU PRIORITIES IN ORDER QUICKLY BEFORE I CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION (OVER 9 YEARS SUBSCRIBED)

LOOSE THE GREED PROMOTE DA WEED!!!!!!!!!!
