Brought to you by the 802 CREW.
Wed Jun 16, 2010
This spring harvest is brought to you by the most hood people I know … the 802 Crew … That’s right! I said it! Vermont is straight up thug luv! I know it sounds silly, but I don’t have the guts to grow these beautiful things at my place … but then again I also live in Oklahoma, a state notorious for drug busts because of all the intersecting national highways … the cops here love a good drug bust. Maybe I should consider relocation???

The sale of “crack pipes” will officially become a misdemeanor offense in Oklahoma starting November 2010, but will not solve or even so much as remedy the state’s longtime crack cocaine and methamphetamine epidemics.
The new law will not remedy the drug problems in Oklahoma; rather it will push the sale and gifting of outlawed paraphernalia underground, adding one more danger to using particular drugs, drug reform activists say.
HB 3251 made it through state legislatures with unanimous approval this spring and was signed into law by Gov. Brad Henry, June 5.
Authored by state Reps. Tibbs, Roan and Shelton along with state Sen. Crain, the law describes the outlawed object as a “glass tube” that is a hollow glass cylinder; open or closed at either end; between two and seven inches long; between one-eighth and three-fourths inch in …READ MORE

Finally a College Grad and Back in Blogging Business!
Mon May 17, 2010
Apologies are in order for this blog’s backseat to my homework and finals week, but finally, after seven long years, I’ve completed my B.A. in Journalism.
I spent the last two weeks writing final papers and studying for the most ridiculous Spanish final exam of my life, and in the middle of all that stress my computer decided to give me a run for my money when it suddenly stopped working. I took the tower in to the IT office at school and they’ve had it for two weeks now and still have yet to look at it.So naturally I came up with the most logical solution for this epic fail situation and I took my graduation gift money straight to Best Buy, laid it on the table and shortly thereafter, walked out with a brand new laptop, which I’m totally loving. So, after two weeks of drama, I’m back online and thrilled to finally have time to keep up with this …READ MOREtags: 1 « add a comment

University of Oklahoma SSDP Chapter Makes Student Newspaper!!! WOOT WOOT!
Thu Apr 22, 2010
Last spring I took an idea to a good friend of mine...
“I want to start a chapter of Students for Sensible Drug Policy on our campus,” I told her.
She immediately took to the idea and volunteered her energy as my helper. Within a couple of weeks we were holding our first meeting on the lawn of the South Oval, mostly gathering people as they walked past by screaming at the tops of our lungs, “SSDP meeting! Sit your butt down if you wanna change drug policy!”
It wasn’t long before we had some fifteen people sitting on the lawn with us discussing what we could do to get this movement started. We passed around a sign-up sheet and by the end of the meeting we had more than enough people to actually start the group officially with the University.
Once we had our members it took us nearly another year to secure our last piece of the puzzle, a faculty sponsor. And once …READ MORE

Teach-In: The Failure of U.S. Drug Policy went brilliantly!
Thu Apr 22, 2010
Well readers, I’ve officially organized my first successful event and I’m exhausted!
As many of you may know, Students for Sensible Drug Policy and Students for a Democratic Society at the University of Oklahoma co-sponsored Teach-In: The Failure of U.S. Drug Policy, Tuesday, April 20, 2010.
We spent hours out on the south oval of campus blocking foot traffic and distracting bikers and skateboarders as we handed out upwards of 1200 quarter-page fliers. We hung full-page posters on the front doors of the major buildings around campus and we even filled 30 or so balloons with helium, tied quarter-page fliers to the ends of their strings, and let them go at lunch time in the middle of the Oklahoma Memorial Union. The place was packed, the balloons were colorful and our mission was relatively simple – make people curious and get them talking. Mission accomplished.
We ended up having a showing of …READ MORE

As many of you know an article entitled “Stiletto Stoners” appeared in the October 2009 issue of Marie Claire, and I must say I was beyond thrilled to read such a realistic view of the pro-pot lifestyle choice in a nationally syndicated publication.
While I may not yet be a stiletto stoner by Marie Claire’s standards, I am in fact a strong career-minded woman starting out in my field of choice and I do love my stilettos and I yearn for the day that I’ll be financially able to slip on a pair of those beautiful designer creations instead of my Payless knockoffs. And to top it off, yes, I do prefer to relax after a long day with a bowl of green rather than a bottle of alcohol.
Like Jennifer Pelham,* I also hate the term pothead because of the …READ MORE
