Busted Letter #106 – Dude, Where’s My Car?

Dear High Times,

I am a 24-year-old, responsible smoker. I smoke partly for medical reasons. My story begins when me and my fianc� were moving into a new apartment. We were carrying our boxes in when a brand new, unused pipe fell out. The neighbor who lives downstairs saw it and immediately called police. They came within fifteen minutes with a search warrant in hand. I wasn’t the least bit worried because I had secured our stash at my parents' place.

The cops dumped all our belongings out and searched everywhere and found nothing. We were brought downtown to the police station and interrogated, asked to give names etc. Me and my fianc� were put into separate rooms and were each told we had ratted on the other.

We got a lawyer and he told us that we had nothing to worry about. We were kept at the station for nine hours, and were not allowed to eat or drink. We are both insulin dependent diabetics and needed to do our blood sugars or insulin. However, we were not allowed to because the cops said they couldn’t be sure it is insulin as it could be crack or heroin.

We were finally brought in front of a judge at 10:00pm that night. He laughed and threw the case out because the cops found nothing but a tobacco pipe. But, when we got home, our stereo, TV and computer were trashed and a bottle of vodka was spilled on our leather couch by the cops. Additionally, our car was impounded.

So I got on my motorcycle and went to the lawyers office in the morning. We went to the police station together and were told that my car was seized because it was bought with drug money (even though I never sold drugs).

My lawyer gave the case to a former ADA in my county who now does private cases. Six months later, I received a letter in the mail saying we could pick up our stuff on the following Saturday. But, much to our surprise, our stuff was sold at a sheriff’s sale two months earlier.

We now have a lawsuit against the county for improper search and seizure and unlawful sale of our stuff. The former ADA is doing our case free of charge. Ironically he was the top drug offense prosecutor for twenty-five years and even he said we will win and that the cops were totally wrong.

He supports our views and he will fight to the end. Our stuff that was seized was worth over $20,000 and it was all sold for $1,250. All for an unused pipe! These cops would rather harass us than arrest real criminals in our city.

this comment is directed at the writer of the previous comment {bucknasty}. Police all over the world will most deffinitly take any and all opportunities to arrest and harass any and all people that may or may not be involved in any way to drugs, and marijuana, regardless of how reliable the information is. All anyone has to do is say they smell something funny and the cops are kicking in your door and ripping your house apart. i think that it is more believable that you are the one that is full of shit and should keep your comments to yourself.

This sort of nonsense enrages me so much. A non-used glass pipe is perfectly legal and shouldn't even be associated with marijuana. If I'm not mistaken, don't the headshops post signs that read "for tobacco use only." How the fuck could a cop seize all your belongings like that for essentially having a "tobacco" pipe in your possession. We need a reformation of the laws ASAP. The system is FUCKED UP!

Sorry to hear about your bad news. However we all know we live in a gestapo regime here in usa. The bottom line is you do smoke weed, and even though the pipe was clean, it gave the ss a reason to raid your property, my advice, get away from narco neigbors and be more carefull in the future, if you smoke, be prepared to get burnt!

Hello everyone.Well I got the job I didn't want LOLOLOL.Yea I was called yesterday and tested this afternoon.Number one worked great and I was not supervise so it was easy.My only concern was the temp,but everything was good.I did just like wh said,I went in and looked them in the eyes and smiled.
Well shit! Now I gotta start work next Monday.

As far as all of your drug screenings I need more info to give you info.
Your answer in short is: For urine most will be clean sfter 30 days of not smoking.
There is an entire section on here devoted to drug testing( You can't miss it,it has damn near 1500 post)
Drug testing is complex and every test can be different and everybodies body can be different.

And no don't use baking soda to pass a test.

I really don't know if I will be back to this HT site.I have a real bad taste in my mouth now.
I just can't beleive the people that are suppose to be the coolest people on the planet would knock something that could help sick people.

Maybe you all are NOT like me.
Maybe that's why I quit smoking.

GA-GIRL, I think that any sort of direct injestion would leave a residue in your system, even if it is just an occassional smoke. I believe it is anywhere from 30-45 days or so for a URINE test. When you get into blood and hair tests you're talking about a substantially longer period. You would have to do a little research but I think that hair testing can go back several years (and, for you very SMART people, that does not mean shave your head because it can be any hair on yor body!). Here is what lies in your favor, urine testing is the most common and cost efficient way of testing and most jobs will only use that method. But if this is a government, hospital, or security type job you may want to get some info on their testing methods. As far as cleaning yourself out, I posted a rather simple step by step for flushing before urine testing a few days back in this column. There are shampoos available for use prior to hair testing but I know nothing of their costs or success rates etc. As for blood testing I have little or no info. Flushing may work or if you are hardcore just get some dialasis. Just kidding (sorry to those of you with severe kidney problems as that joke was at your expense). How long does marijuana typically stay in your system after your last hits if you are an occasional short term user. And have not used any methods of cleansing your system.
In this case, how long could it be detected in a blood or urine screen/test??? Please advise.

Don't ask why. I just quit smoking 4 years ago and never started back.

Anyway as a former stoner I want to help all the current and former stoners.

I will give knowledge of this I know ranging from Marijauna,drug testing,legal and most of all,Everyday products you can buy from the grocery store that I have tried and have proven to be better than perscription or over the counter medicine.

Why I do this I want to help people with what I know works for sure,because I have tried it.

#1) If you suffer from heart burn,acid indigestion or nausa.

TAKE BAKING SODA with water 1/2 tablespoon in 4 oz of water.
This will work faster than the pills or antacid tablets you buy.

Instuctions are on the Baking soda box.

#2) If you suffer from cold sore or fever blisters.

Then with Q-tip apply 3% peroxide ( THE KIND YOU BUY FROM THE GROCER) (usally in brown bottle) directly to sore several times a day.
This will heel the sore faster than anything else on the market.

That's my tips for today.
Feel free to ask anything.

you can buy an at home drug test at the drug store for about 20 bucks.

If you aren't 100% sure if you are clean or not, test yourself before your official test. If you fail the at home test, postpone the real test if possible - or just buy a whizzinator.

What's up everybody? Da Kine is correct about that flushing method. My dad works in chemical response for a place that makes rocket fuel for NASA and he was told 4 days before his test. He had the Thanksgiving weekend to pull it together and test clean. He drank gallons of water each day, some with vinegar and didn't smoke at all for the last 2 days before the test. He went in Monday morning and passed with flying colors. He was worried. He has been smoking since 1969 and as far as I know that is the only time he ever had to take a test (including when he was drafted in '68). Useing with clean pee is the only way to guarantee a clean test.

And to answer to XXX's question is that local law enforcement is turning in people to the fedral government and then getting busted. Probably in most cases because they can't stand the competition.

Yea wh is right the only for sure wat to pass the test are to use clean pee.There are several different types of urine screens they useand flushing one's system or trying to use something to mask won't always work.
If they give you the ole dip stick method they are realativly easy to beat with pure water and vitiam B.

If you are tested by the method called GC/MS,you CAN NOT beat it with a flush or masking agent,SO ALWAYS go with some clean pee that is to the right temp.
Unless you are on probation,parole or trying to employ for a high security job you probably won't be watched.

I was just reading on this site on the news part about the medical despencers getting busted.i have a question though,i have always thought and heard that in order for the state ofr federal goverenment to start an investigation or raid someone,that they had to be called in by a distric attorney,sheriff,chief of police or a mayor.
i kid you not the state investigators where i live can't even investigate murders unless they are ask to assist.
the state can't do fly overs looking for weed either unless they have been called in.
they have to have permission.

so question,is cali different in the way the law is set up or issomeone like the sheriff,chief of police,mayor or distic attorney calling them in?

I'm not sure that using iodized salt would help you pass. The salt would definitely leech the impurities out of the urine, but I think that it will just invalidate the test and you would just have to re-test at a later date. First and foremost, the salt content would raise a flag, even IF it all dissolves. Second, you should just stick with tried and true methods! I believe most states require a day or two warning for pee tests (for work at least, I have no idea about parole/court testing). That leaves plenty of time. If you are wary of a test just start to limit smoking for a while, maybe just once in the evening, I know, it sucks! Drink at least 2 or 3 cups of water an hour for the days prior to the test. Drink lots of cranberry juice and, if you can stomach it, pickle juice works very well. The one that really sucks is taking a shot of vinegar every few hours. Just one of these methods may not work for you so I suggset incorporating all three to bee safe. This will make you pee ALOT. Keep going, it is part of the flushing process. Hopefully I was of some help. Well, it's time for some coffee, bowls, and the Three Stooges! good morning

He puts the IODIZED SALT in the corner of a plastic baggy and bust it open into the cup.

He said it has to be IODIZED and not plain cause the iodine in the salt is what makes you pass the test.

How would you know wheather or not if they going to watch you at the drug test place?
I have never been watched ,but they have had me go in and leave the door open before,so that would be hard to put some fake pee in it.

HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF USEING IODIZED SALT?

I KNOW A GUY FRESH OUT OF THE CHAIN GANG THAT SWEARS BY IT.
I know he be dirty,cause he smokes and takes about a tablespoon of IODIZED SALT in to probation office and has not failed the first test.

For the ones on here wanting to know how to pass the piss test.

use clean pee and make sure temp is right on it.
if your not going to be watched it's the best thing to use.

doing those drinks and additives may or MAY NOT work.

I have worked in restaurants my whole life and almost everyone that I have ever worked for or with has smoked pot. My favorite was at a well known steak house that I worked for when I lived in Oregon. Our kitchen manager would actally let the whole kitchen go into the walk-in at 415 so we would be in the right frame of mind for the night. He knew how to grease the wheels! Those who didn't smoke weren't the sort to object anyways, but I guess that is just dumb luck. I also haven't had the pleasure of taking a test of any sort but I'm looking for a job right now so hopefully I didn't just jinx myself. I would suggest the service industry for any avid smokers that don't want to change anything about themselves. I'll stop my babbling now. late.

I undsrstand that wh,but is most often the FBI that bust corrupt cops and judges and stuff.
Just recently they busted like an entire sheriffs dept. and the sheriff that was corrupt they also busted a bunch of dirty cops in Miami.
Without faith we would have nothing.
Besides I've had the local law all over my ass about this before because they were trying to shut me up.They even set me up on some bullshit,to try and make my life a living hell,because I had exsposed them.

Hey nor-cali,it seems that you are the one that mostly aknowledges me and I don't want you to feel isolated.
It's just most off the time I say hello to every one so I don't leave anyone out.

But so anyway,yea I agree with you I think there are some really cool smokers on here.
And I think for the most part everyone is legit.I mean why would a cop try in help someone pass a drug screening or give grow info or legal advice.

I love this board and was scared as hell when I first posted on here,but now it's almost a daily thing for me to do.
I'm starting to not be so pariniod as I use to be,but I still use caution.
My last job was with the media that had helped me out in a tuff situation I had gotten into with the law.( COPS were harrasing me and shit and set me up on something)THE MEDIA got the cops to leave me alone( NOT MY LAWYERS)So why I was working there,I did not smoke at all,because that was part of my defense.The cops were really pissed with me and trying everything they could to destroy me(BUT THEY HAD NO PROOF)I had told my company that the cops were full of shit and I was set up and completly innocent.
While working there though I educated alot of my bosses and co-workers about the bullshit drug war and to my suprise almost all of them agreed with me.
They were mostly against child molesters.when I explained to them if the judges and cops weren't so damn determined to locking people up for a little pot in thier pocket,that it wouldn't make the revolving door for the child molesters to become repeat offenders.
Almost all said the drug war needed to be changed.It was real cool knowing that I was clean and could pass a test at anytime and still be able to educate people on this.
To my suprise again,they never tested me even though I had such liberal veiws about pot.
I was fired,but that came from corperate office ,because sales quatos weren't being made and they were fasing out the job I had anyway.

People can learn how to beat drug test and alls kinds of grow info that you normaly would have to pay for.Here it is absolutly free knowledge.

Dude that sucked, who is your attorney? Maybe he could help other people out there. But really something needs to be done about picking on Americans who have the right to be happy and secure. Sounds like you are neither. People need to think more on what being an american is. Some things like murder and robbing is wrong. And towns would take care of people who were real bad. A lot of people do not have good jobs. We cant just keep going like this. The police, need to serve not bug, herd of the word compassion? Not all cops are bad, some really try to do good and I have met a few of them. It is nice to know you can count on someone like a cop to help, it is when the cop becomes drunk with power or does not understand compassion. Maybe he is mentally effected by some event. We have to be the thinkers and the ones who reach out. People are so stressed and have so many problems and seems like no one cares and we are all alone. But this is not America, we need to show some compassion towards one another.

Hello everyone!
Well no piss test yet,they haven't called me so far.My interview was on Tuesday though.I may get lucky and not be recommeded for rehire.(LOL)
I had worked for this company in the past at a different location and got the ax.I was a manager then now they want me for my sales exsperience.Since I was fired though, the approval for rehire has to come from the president of the company.I wasn't fired for anything bad just not making sales goal as a team.They told me my last job was a mission inpossiable and they don't hold it against me(we will just have to see if the president feels the same way)
In all honesty I really don't want the job anyway,not because of the piss test ( I think I got that part covered)But the pay is not real good.

I have been offered a job making $700.00 per sale by another company and there would NEVER be any drug test with them.( I would be an indipendent contractor)One sale a week and I would bring home as much in one week as I would with two weeks working for the company that gives test.

Sounds like a simple choice.But here is the deal as an indipedent contractor if I don't sale I don't make ANY MONEY at all.As an actual employee with the testing company I get a gaurantee salary.

Oh well whats meant to be will be.

I know he had the deputies cell #,because he had told my mother he had called the police and they wouldn't come out.He said the deputy told him he had done the right thing to shoot back and they would probably leave,since he shot back at them.
My mother called the police dept. furious that they didn't send a patrol out.They told her they never received a call.After confronting my nephew,he then said he had called the deputies cell #.

After my own investigation and the fact that I found the meth machine,my father took and hid all the guns around and took the one's my nephew had and got rid of them.

My nephew wasn't lying about someone shooting at him he was hulucianating and really thought they were.
After this exsperince,I went through,I would STRONGLY RECOMMED all people stay the hell away from meth.

I said wh would say I should have turned the meth machine in because he always says he would turn in a meth head in a heart beat(I think he calls them tweekers)

But it was family and I hate the fucking police anyway.

I'm Not so sure after knowing he had the cops cell phone that he may have been making meth for the cops( as in them getting a cut)

Yea I don't think HT would have enough page if we all listed every snitch we knew on here.
It's really sad,because even some of my family members are in on this snitchin and buying from the man's man and shit.
More than one time I have caught people or heard people saying they have called the county deputies on the deputies cell phone or had the phone #( My nephew) is one.Now why in the hell would someone have a county deputies cell #???

By the way I know wh is going to say I should have turned this in,but I didn't because of my dislike for the police.
I caught my nephew one day in some woods next to where we all live. After he left I walked to the area he was in and found (what appeared to be a machine used to make meth)I have never any dealings with meth,but have seen the machines on the news and the shows warning of meth.I did not report it to the police,but did show it to my father,who halled it off to the trash dupsters.
I know for a fact that my nephew had acounty deputies cell #,Because he was high on meth one night freaking out saying someone was shooting at him.
He comes knocking on my door at like 6.00AM and says someone was shooting at him in the yard from the woods.I immediatly didn't know what to do except grab my gun and go outside with him ( He also had a 9-mm)He saw the mailbox and freaked out and shot at it thinking it was someone shooting at him (His mother told me they had been shooting at each other all night since about 12.30 AM( I sleep on the sofa with the TV on and never heard any shots.I walked to my fathers house to make sure he had not been home invaded and was alright.At this point I started to get suspicious(soon the sun was coming up) I walked every where he said they had shot from and found NO other shell casings except his on.....
Next post I am out of room....

One more thing.This commercial dealer also was caught in another one night on a DUI charge and was charged with FELONY possesion of COCAINE about 3 years prior to hiring the hit men.
So he already had a record and it was a felony record.

I am in complete disbelief and just don't understand how this KEEPS going on.

Hello wh,nor-cali,its me,river and the rest of you all.
I just wanted to share a story with you all,so you will futher understand what we are against here in the good ole USA.

Cops,Judges and Politicians are all irrational people.

FACT: I swear on a stack of bibles,the story I am about to tell is the truth to the best of my knowledge.

We all know the peneties in this country for Marijuana and other drugs and what not.It is absurd to say the least.

THE STORY: In the middle to later part of 2004 a commericial dealer in my area hired two hit men to kill a guy who whooped his ass in a fist fight.
Now the two hit men he hired were stupid and went to the guy they were suppose to kill and told him they would let him live if he was willing to give them more money than the guy wanting him killed.So the guy complies and write them a check for x amount of dollars and tells them he will get the reat from his bank to give to them.
Instead of going to the bank,he goes to the state law enforcement center and they set up a sting,in which he proceeded to get the rest of the money and get it to the would be killers.
All 3 were arrested and charged and found guilty.
Now keep in mind this was in the middle to later part of 2004.
The 3 would be killers are sent of to PRISON...
Tonight while in a wal-mart I seen the commercial dealer walking and shopping as if nothing had ever happened.
I asked someone about how in the world was he out of prison already and they said they didn't know,but he had been out for a while,because he was rushed the the ER with an injury he received on a 4-wheeler a few months back.Sometime back in 2006.
Now the absolute most time he could have done for attempted murder is 2 years.

Same town another guy was caught with pot and guns in 2001.HE IS STILL IN PRISON...

Ain't this just fucked up???

I say because he is a commericial dealer and sells for the powers to be is why he is out of prison...

THOUGHTS???? ANYONE.

traveling with something you shouldnt have? put it in a box, tape it up, write an address on it and slap on a stamp. No one can open that box once there is a stamp on it. I'ts considered federal property. the cops cant open that box unless mr. postman says its ok. I havent seen that guys "never get busted" movie, but a lawyer told me about this trick, and i've never heard of it failing.

pennsylvania laws are horrible.....I just looked at NORMLs state by state guide to marijuana laws - getting busted with Paraphernalia alone will get you 2,500$ FINE and - 1 year incarceration.+ not to mention lawyer fees....Anyway's I agree sounds a little Fishey for the cops to get a search warrent and be at the site in 15 minutes ......
