Busted Letter #116 – Nosey Neighbors

My family and I recently moved from Texas to Oregon so I could obtain a medical license to grow buds. I was able to get my card and everything was going great when all of a sudden our landlord passed away and the house we were renting was put up for sale. So we had to find another house for rent in less than a month.

We settled into a new house but I had not been able to set up a new growroom right away. So, I took the six clones I had from my previous growroom and put them in the dirt in the new backyard not even thinking that they would survive. However, most of them did make it and got pretty big themselves.

It was late September and buds were packing on, the aroma was wafting over to the neighbor's yard and they felt the need to play private detectives and snoop over our fence. That led them to call the police – and these are the same people that look us in the face on a daily basis when our children play together still to this day!

Anyway, every November I have to renew my license to grow here in Oregon. I was waiting to renew my card and update my new address in November when we were accused of illegally growing marijuana (growing at an unregistered site). They came and arrested my wife and I. They also confiscated my computer in which they found a two-year old picture of my daughter picking raspberries with marijuana plants in the distant background. Because of this we were charged with endangering our children along with felony possession of a controlled substance.

Additionally, my wife watches two kids for some extra income. The parents of the children my wife watched knew about my growing pot and had no problem with it as it was locked up in my garage. They even wrote letters in our defense, hoping we would not get harshly punished. However, the DA charged us with endangering their children as well - all because we did not register our new address.

So now my wife who hardly ever smoked and has never been in trouble her whole life is a convicted felon. It was felony possession of a controlled substance because it was over an ounce of dried plant matter (go figure, we moved to Oregon so I could grow good medicinal marijuana but back in Texas you can possess up to two ounces without a felony charge).

They took like $3000 worth of grow equipment and all of my precious ladies! I went to court to try and recover my grow equipment but they refused to give it back. I even showed them that I got my license back to grow my own medicine again. The judge just said I took a chance by not registering my grow area and ordered it destroyed.

So, now I am on probation for all of that and can get thrown in jail for using my prescribed medicine from a licensed physician, all because my probation officer and his boss believe that the medical marijuana program (OMMP) is "a bunch of bull**** "! I have let him know on several occasions that I have Crohn’s disease and need marijuana in order to eat and keep my food down (as well as helping with other symptoms I have, that I would rather not discuss. If you know anything about the disease then you will know what I am referring to).

I just got some new grow equipment and will love the day I am off probation and can enjoy smoking without having to go to jail for it!

I have Crohn's disease too, I know how it is and we definitley need the medication. I would expect Oregon to be a little bit more laid back, it's horrible that you went through all of that.

Sup ,What part of the Constitution do they not understand?

Article. IV. Section. 2.
The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.

I looked up the meaning of that sentence and found no less than (Seven)7 different interpolations of it from the courts!and none were correct.

It was written when the states were forming and ,when it refers to the United States as the Federal government, and not the several States and to this day unless you live in Washington D.C.,,you live in the several states and you are a State citizen!. If however you live in D.C. then you live in the UNITED STATES!. got it?.

Medical Marijuana can only be Regulated by the federal gov, and not by state(s)!. And here is why!,

Let's say that Medical Marijuana and coffee were legal in California and N.Y. and not in some states you had to go through to deliver it, or what if they were legal in 16 states!,,, but which ones? that's why that was put in the Constitution for states to be uniform,,,IN ORDER TO FORM A MORE PERFECT UNION.UNION.UNION.,,when a state bust you they and the lawers make a lot of MONEY!! simple "the more the lawers let them take your freedom the more they make!.

Hey EVERYONE! Just busted myself recently and it totally blows! I looked online and found L.E.A.P.(Law Enforcement Against Prohibition). There is a HUGE movement going on to legalize and regulate ALL drugs. They are not condoning drug use. But, they do believe it is your personal right to do drugs if you want. They are also declaring that the "war on drugs" is a huge failure and that it needs to end. They have a petition you can put your name onto that will be sent to President Obama and there is also a pre-drafted letter that you can have emailed to your local state representative. Both are strongly urging for legalization.

This is NO JOKE and is completely on the up and up. Check out their web site and GET INVOLVED!!! You can find all the video proof you need on the web site to prove it is true. Some videos of actual news media and discussions in the senate on a bill to legalize ALL drugs. They are fighting in Congress and the UN and traveling all over the U.S. to help educate people on the failed drug policies. THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN AND WIIL ALL HAPPEN A LOT FASTER IF EVERYONE GETS INVOLVED. Put your bongs down for one minute and do some networking and tell EVERYONE to voice their opinions.

I urge everyone to go online and look up "Law Enforcement Against Prohibition" and at least check it's validity. I know that after getting busted myself, I was feeling really guilty about the whole ordeal. But after reading through this site for a while I was feeling very disturbed and not because I was wrong but, because WE ALL SHOULD HAVE THE BASIC HUMAN RIGHT TO DECIDE WHAT GOES INTO OUR BODIES!!!

damn i got roped 5 times in 3 years wen i was 10-13. i used to take bud from my older brothers and serve it up. but i had like 2 oz on me wen the cops busted my door wen i was 11. i had to go to juvy for 2 weeks and probation for 9 months.but only 2 weeks later i get caught by my mom and the neigbors had heard us and called the cops(second time i got roped still 11).well im getting tired of talking im funna go smoke some golden crhonic peace out my potheads

Looking into the Oregon law there is a 60 day grace period to update the address. Obviously if the guy was charged he waited more than 60 days.

It just goes to show that you can't fuck around in the Pacific Northwest.

Law Enforcement in Oregon and Washington has plenty of time to hassle you, because the population is mostly law abiding, heterogeneous and upstanding.

Cali, on the other hand, is truly the land of the Green. We have such a heterogeneous population in CA, with so much social strife, that crime never sleeps here, and the average LA County Sheriff's deputy could give a shit less about someone growing grass or smoking a joint. They have enough problems just securing the community.

My days off have been spent up in Boston visiting my new girlfriend. I really miss living up there and I think I may need to move back. U should have moved to northern cali!!!!!!!!!! I to am a medical patient and grow my own ,I never register my garden with the cops that is just asking for a little visit from them later in the season.If they really want your crop they will take it and if you want it back its not worth it, they just through it in a garbage bag to mold.one of my friends this year had the shriffs come up and he only had 12 plants they made hime cut half down on the spot and told him they where coming back for the rest.

Trip on this. You know there was this study where a two bowls of rice(organic matter) were seperated in two separate but identical rooms. In one room the bowl of rice was visited for months, day after day, by tourist who screamed and shouted expletives and curses while in the other room......the tourist gave blessings onto the bowl of rice. 24 hours a day for months this happened and eventually the bowl of rice that was being yelled at negatively begun to mold and turn black while in the other room,....that bowl of rice was still white and fresh as can be!!!!Proof that organic matter can be positively influenced by our communication and/or emotion. Hey look.....I smoked for a very long time and at first it did hamper me and my employment, But then I took a different approach to life and employment....

This is somethings YOU can do to get out of the rut........

1) Get clean for more than 30 days and get the job you want... ( if you can't stop for 30 days then you are ADDICTED and need to seek help)

2)Start up or buy your own buisness....

3) Work as an independent contractor ( They are never tested)

4)Laborer jobs such as roofing and sheetrockers are never tested.

5) Sales representives on car lots and in home sales are almost never tested.

6) Real estate sales/are never tested.

7) Get a truckdriving licsense, save your money and buy your own truck and be tested only once a year.

8) Don't work at all.

9)Live off the land in the wild...

10)Marry somebody that is rich...... Really there are alot of Fat Chicks and Ugly guys that have great paying jobs or alot of money, but find it hard to get a date or someone to live with or marry them....
