Busted Letter #122 - Police Brutality

As you can see by my mug shot, the big brave WV state police beat up a drunk 52 year old man. Rather than protect society and arrest a felon with a gun riding an ATV 4-wheeler on the road, the state trooper let the felon go free for snitching on me for growing pot. With no search warrant, the Gestapo thugs raided me with my huge marijuana plantation of approximately 36 square feet.

The 3 rouge-renegade cops must of thought I had a mattress full of cash which is why they beat me unconscious, then spent an hour or so ransacking my bus motor home. I live alone in a remote area with no neighbors in sight, so who knows what the cops took. After the sadistic cops laughingly sprayed mace in my face to wake me, it was off to the hospital for about 18 hours, then to jail. I enjoy smoking pot but can’t afford the sky high price so I grow my own. Who do you think is causing crime? A pot smoker who grows his own pot or coke-crack heads and pill users who have very expensive habits? When was the last time you heard of a pot smoker robbing a bank, pharmacy, store, house, or stealing purses from little old ladies? In a free country no pot smoker should get beat up by police for growing their own pot.

The type of pot I grow is a short-single stalk early maturing variety that rarely exceeds approximately 3 feet in height, which is why I could cram 156 plants in just 36 square feet. Since the government’s expert witness testified each plant to be worth $2,000, half being throw-away males, the eye-catching “$312,000 pot bust” in the local newspaper was yellow journalism at its best. Anybody who is gullible enough to believe 36 square feet can produce $312,000 worth of pot is an idiot. Obviously, there are a lot of gullible idiots in America, especially in government, who read and believe yellow journalism which is why pot was made illegal, and still is illegal.

Alright, I see something stupid with this story. If the guy on the ATV snitched you out, he's obviously been to where you're growing or has got word about it from someone who has seen it. i too am from southern wv and what you see in the picture is not a rare sight around here.Cops make a habit of beating people arond here.And now that your known to "the beast" youll never get a moments peace.I've had them follow me for an hour looking for a reason to pull me they finally got me for not using a signal ithin 500 ft of my turn.what a way to spend tax dollars.

I cant believe that happened and why are we all just sitting on our computers instead of doing something. We should all not type on this but stand up for our rights. Why is smoking cigs,alcohol legal and they kill more people yearly than all drugs combined. Marijuana is a great substance and it doenst hurt anyone. They took down speed limit signs (i know this because not all the locals there were assholes), pulled people over for having their headlights on during the daytime (going through thick woods with lots of animals running on the roads), and to top it off they even pulled the ol "i'm going to put your driver's license in my pocket, which means you are driving without a license. First off, the "VICTIM" did not post this. He sent a letter to High Times and they chose it to be on the website. They dont give publishing rights to random stoners who have stories, they just copy them.

It is possible the cops just showed up and beat the shit out of him.... it is more likely he was drunk and tried to fight them and got verbally abusive. If I were a cop at the scene and saw 160 plants in a motor home I would spend a lot of time searching the rest of it as well.

The guy is whining and bitter that marijuana is, in fact, STILL ILLEGAL. Plea deals are NOT new news!! In the eyes of a cop, a weed grower is way better than a traffic stop because the weed is still a worse offense whether people like it or fucking not.

Its a shame this guy got beat up, but the bias only leads to getting broken down by the readers. He didnt even mention what he got charged with...

I agree, generally speaking, that the former scenario is likely more probable. However, a man wrote a story that claims only what is possible. As it is possible - and I don't know it to be false - I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I don't believe the busted letter section needs to degrade to a forum where, instead of offering advice, similar stories or condolences, we simply assume the author is a liar and it's our job to debunk his story.

Additionally, arguing about the probability/possibility in this particular case is a waste of our time as neither of us were there and can never know what really happened.

Also, probable or not, rainy or otherwise, I certainly feel like Bush is pissing on me daily.
