Busted Letter #122 - Police Brutality

As you can see by my mug shot, the big brave WV state police beat up a drunk 52 year old man. Rather than protect society and arrest a felon with a gun riding an ATV 4-wheeler on the road, the state trooper let the felon go free for snitching on me for growing pot. With no search warrant, the Gestapo thugs raided me with my huge marijuana plantation of approximately 36 square feet.

The 3 rouge-renegade cops must of thought I had a mattress full of cash which is why they beat me unconscious, then spent an hour or so ransacking my bus motor home. I live alone in a remote area with no neighbors in sight, so who knows what the cops took. After the sadistic cops laughingly sprayed mace in my face to wake me, it was off to the hospital for about 18 hours, then to jail. I enjoy smoking pot but can’t afford the sky high price so I grow my own. Who do you think is causing crime? A pot smoker who grows his own pot or coke-crack heads and pill users who have very expensive habits? When was the last time you heard of a pot smoker robbing a bank, pharmacy, store, house, or stealing purses from little old ladies? In a free country no pot smoker should get beat up by police for growing their own pot.

The type of pot I grow is a short-single stalk early maturing variety that rarely exceeds approximately 3 feet in height, which is why I could cram 156 plants in just 36 square feet. Since the government’s expert witness testified each plant to be worth $2,000, half being throw-away males, the eye-catching “$312,000 pot bust” in the local newspaper was yellow journalism at its best. Anybody who is gullible enough to believe 36 square feet can produce $312,000 worth of pot is an idiot. Obviously, there are a lot of gullible idiots in America, especially in government, who read and believe yellow journalism which is why pot was made illegal, and still is illegal.

Article. IV. Section. 2.
The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States.

I looked up the meaning of that sentence and found no less than (Seven)7 different interpolations of it from the courts!and none were correct.

It was written when the states were forming and ,when it refers to the United States as the Federal government, and not the several States and to this day unless you live in Washington D.C.,,you live in the several states and you are a State citizen!. If however you live in D.C. then you live in the UNITED STATES!. got it?.

Medical Marijuana can only be Regulated by the federal gov, and not by state(s)!. And here is why!,

Let's say that Medical Marijuana and coffee were legal in California and N.Y. and not in some states you had to go through to deliver it, or what if they were legal in 16 states!,,, but which ones? that's why that was put in the Constitution for states to be uniform,,,IN ORDER TO FORM A MORE PERFECT UNION.UNION.UNION.,,when a state bust you they and the lawers make a lot of MONEY!! simple "the more the lawers let them take your freedom the more they make!.

Hey EVERYONE! Just busted myself recently and it totally blows! I looked online and found L.E.A.P.(Law Enforcement Against Prohibition). There is a HUGE movement going on to legalize and regulate ALL drugs. They are not condoning drug use. But, they do believe it is your personal right to do drugs if you want. They are also declaring that the "war on drugs" is a huge failure and that it needs to end. They have a petition you can put your name onto that will be sent to President Obama and there is also a pre-drafted letter that you can have emailed to your local state representative. Both are strongly urging for legalization.

This is NO JOKE and is completely on the up and up. Check out their web site and GET INVOLVED!!! You can find all the video proof you need on the web site to prove it is true. Some videos of actual news media and discussions in the senate on a bill to legalize ALL drugs. They are fighting in Congress and the UN and traveling all over the U.S. to help educate people on the failed drug policies. THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN AND WIIL ALL HAPPEN A LOT FASTER IF EVERYONE GETS INVOLVED. Put your bongs down for one minute and do some networking and tell EVERYONE to voice their opinions.

I urge everyone to go online and look up "Law Enforcement Against Prohibition" and at least check it's validity. I know that after getting busted myself, I was feeling really guilty about the whole ordeal. But after reading through this site for a while I was feeling very disturbed and not because I was wrong but, because WE ALL SHOULD HAVE THE BASIC HUMAN RIGHT TO DECIDE WHAT GOES INTO OUR BODIES!!!

That really sux. Why didn't you prosecute the police for unnecessary roughness? You would need a non-court-appointed attorney, but in your case, you could/should be entitled to undue pain and suffering. Especially if they did not document you for resisting. They didn't, did they? This is exactly the same thing as setting up speed traps & such. For the city/state it's an easier and safer way for them to pay themselves. Pick off the easy targets, tax them hard, and avoid or neglect the "REAL" criminals out here.

Sadly, things happen like this everyday and cops go unpunished. I live in New Orleans, LA and have witnessed many incidents much worse than this. It's truly a damn shame.. I really hope things work out for you.

I think your best bet would be to find an up-and-coming lawyer who would take on your case pro bono in hopes of taking it to your state supreme court and get him some face time and you some justice. Best of luck to you man.

If you have no history of violence then you might have a case.

In Australia if you looked like you do in that photo it would be all over the news and you would be treated as a victim and the police would be suspended and possibly charged and your drug charges would be dropped and you would get compensation $$$

you got a nice black eye there and considering there was 3 big cops on your ass you can plead that in court saying why would I resist when I knew I had no chance... act like the victim saying your scared of police now as you havent been beaten up like that before etc ... the only person you have to convince is the judge so dressing well and hey put on the water works ( start crying ) ...

i live in charleston WV and remembered seeing that shit on the news and pictures of the bud...def not 312,00 worth. They had no warrant bring that up in court, any evedence found without a warrant and no consent is not valid in court. You have a right to unfair search and seizure and counter sue for police brutality.

First off, the "VICTIM" did not post this. He sent a letter to High Times and they chose it to be on the website. They dont give publishing rights to random stoners who have stories, they just copy them.

It is possible the cops just showed up and beat the shit out of him.... it is more likely he was drunk and tried to fight them and got verbally abusive. If I were a cop at the scene and saw 160 plants in a motor home I would spend a lot of time searching the rest of it as well.

The guy is whining and bitter that marijuana is, in fact, STILL ILLEGAL. Plea deals are NOT new news!! In the eyes of a cop, a weed grower is way better than a traffic stop because the weed is still a worse offense whether people like it or fucking not.

Its a shame this guy got beat up, but the bias only leads to getting broken down by the readers. He didnt even mention what he got charged with...

I agree, generally speaking, that the former scenario is likely more probable. However, a man wrote a story that claims only what is possible. As it is possible - and I don't know it to be false - I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I don't believe the busted letter section needs to degrade to a forum where, instead of offering advice, similar stories or condolences, we simply assume the author is a liar and it's our job to debunk his story.

Additionally, arguing about the probability/possibility in this particular case is a waste of our time as neither of us were there and can never know what really happened.

Also, probable or not, rainy or otherwise, I certainly feel like Bush is pissing on me daily.

He was just sitting there minding his own business and some cops run in the door and just beat the shit out of him ?

Possible is a long way from probable .

example :
