NORMLIZER - SEPTEMBER 2007
Bogus British Press: UK Newspapers Slander Cannabis
Thu, Jul 19, 2007 1:06 pm
Oh, man, here we go again down the Reefer Madness path. Here are five select headlines and excerpts of actual news coverage from the UK:
“Cannabis Psychosis—Off Your Head?”
As a series of new studies proves the link between cannabis dependency and mental illness, an Observer investigation reveals the plight of young users struggling to find help to deal with the disturbing effects of a drug once considered “safe.” (Observer, February 2006)
“Marijuana Link to Stabbing Murders”
Homicide squad detectives are investigating whether a mix of marijuana and mental illness was a factor in four murders in the past month. Drug counselors have warned super-potent, genetically modified dope grown in suburban houses is severely affecting some users. There are strong concerns among senior police at the links between cannabis-induced psychosis and killings and other violent crimes. (Herald Sun, July 2006)
“Cannabis Downgrading Blamed for Psychotic Killer Gangs”
Labour’s decision to downgrade cannabis has filled youths with a “lawless bravado” which turns them into potential killers, a senior church figure and police advisor warned yesterday. Rev. George Hargreaves said youths, smoking the drug with impunity since the law was changed, were being transformed into dangerous “schizophrenics.” He blamed the decision for the murder of Stevens Nyembo-Ya-Muteba by a gang of thugs believed to have been smoking strong “skunk” cannabis throughout the day. (This Is London, March 2006)
“Get Tough on Skunk or More Will Die”
Addicts will kill more people unless the Government takes tougher action against super-strength cannabis, a mental health charity has warned. Marjorie Wallace, the chief executive of the charity SANE, said at least a third of murders committed by addicts of skunk cannabis were preventable. (Daily Telegraph, April 2007)
“Boy on Skunk Cannabis Butchered a Grandmother”
A teenager who was crazed by high-strength cannabis butchered a grandmother after “voices in his head” told him to stab a woman. Ezekiel Maxwell, a paranoid schizophrenic, launched the horrific attack after years of smoking super-strength “skunk weed.” The 17-year-old claimed “gangster voices” from the ultra-violent computer game Grand Theft Auto had set him on a mission to stab a black woman. He is the second teenage cannabis addict in a month to be found guilty of killing others after smoking the substance. These cases highlight the dangers of the highly potent “skunk.” (Daily Mail, April 2007)

This was an 18 year effort by NORML. Read it you will be amazed.
You can find it at iowanorml.org
Further, NORML operates on $650,000 or less per year. Why? Because tight wads the likes of Indicat wont send $25 for a basic NORML membership. A meger pittance compared to the Billions spent annualy by the US
government.
I have seen it more often than than I care to remember. Individual's like Indicat send $25 to NORML, and then expect legal representation from NORML when/if they get busted.
If ya still want to know why weed is illegal, look in the mirror and ask yourself-What did I do today to help get weed legal.
Ya wanna know why weed is illegal? Because cops, drug treatment, etc. get out and VOTE for the people that support keeping weed illegal.
Wait, arnt there more of us than there are of them?

Clockwork Orange (plot)

Clockwork Orange still exsists today with the British security services and the U.S. federal government project against marijuana. Project members of Clockwork Orange, CIA, Fed, British intelligence services. M15 became the primary intelligence service in United States, the project began giving briefings to foreign journalists against Marijuana smokers. These briefings included distributed forged documents in an attempt to show that the Marijuana smokers were, Psychotic crazzy lunitics on the "green Grass". In the House of Commons, on the 31 January 1990, junior defence minister archie Hamilton, admitted the existence of a project called 'Clockwork Orange', although he claimed that there was no evidence that this project involved a smear campaign against politicians.

As far as why I want it legal, it's not because I think it's benefiting my system, it's because I want to get high and there's nothing wrong with that, I'm not going to wear hemp anything the shit's uncomfortable so until they fix that it's just cause I want to be high and there's nothing wrong with that. However I can say that it's better for my body than all the alcohol I've ingested that has done such horrible things and easier on my lungs than years of second hand smoke. And last because I'll be goddamned if any normal person smokes straight grass of any kind and flips out. Maybe some of them joints with formaldehyde or bad coke but not straight. "Bummer, Dude!" is right the voices argue weather or not getting some munchies is really an option, but everything is ssoooo much work. Plus my coordination fails so if I get a munchie without waking everyone in the house SUCCESS!!!!!! Killing someone would just be too much work for no munchies. The normal stoner is like hey grandma you have any of those brownies?!...and cake...ooo! and some of those cookies!....

The Feds also slandered American Colonists in the 420 Colonies. The Feds said will unconstitutionally take state land, impose progressive income tax, control farm production, regulate schools, control your children, send U.S. soldiers to fight without declaring war, and set up an independant, unaudited Federal Reserve System. 420 colonists say we are a peaceful and freedom loving people, protected by the COnstitution; yet these freedoms appear to be stripped away little by little in the name of laws and restrictions. We protest by voting and writing our congressman, yet no matter which party is in office we are ignored. Drug Policy Reforms are putting protections so that there will never be a federal controlled nation, and we would have States controlling themselves with a limited federal government.

On another note, I don't know if you consider an article in U.S News and weekly report a "National Headline", but I recently puchased an issue that had a full page article on Medical marijuana and how it is not only better for your system than the opiates doctors throw down chronically ill patients throats, but how it is a moderatly safe drug... and it also had scientific research.
Further more, how much scientific research do you need? The facts are out there, and it is not the fault of any organization other than our own governments as to why marijuana is illegal.
I also don't understand why you advocate scientific research for medical marijuana when "99% of folks smoke for the buzz". You are making medical marijuana an excuse for legalizing "the buzz". That is a huge reason as to why nobody takes the decriminalization movement seriously. Wether you believe me or not, I personally know atleast 100 people that would and should qualify for medical marijuana. Think of everyone in the country that is terminally ill or suffer from daily pain... those are all people that would benifit from medical erb.
Next time don't come on this website ranting with your completly bogus stats because it only points out the fact that you have no idea what you are talking about. Without organizations like NORML, there would be NO scientific research except those we read about in these mislead articles.
