HEY STONERS: GET OUT AND VOTE!

Tue, Nov 04, 2008 1:07 pm

-

This is an historic election, and stoners need to voice their support for marijuana law reform by voting on Tuesday, November 4th.

If you live in Michigan, you can vote to approve Proposition 1, which will protect medical marijuana patients from arrest.

In Massachusetts, vote yes on Question 2 to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana for all adults!

The election of a new President will also have a tremendous impact on the future of marijuana law. If elected, John McCain has promised to have the federal government continue arresting medical marijuana patients, even in states where they are protected by law.

Barack Obama has promised to end the federal government's policy of arresting medical marijuana patients.

"I would not have the Justice Department prosecuting and raiding medical marijuana users." He told Granite Staters for Medical Marijuana during the campaign. "It's not a good use of our resources."

For more information on the Presidential race, check out "The Official High Times Presidential Unendorsement."

To find out where you vote, check out Vote for Change.

Huh?

Jan 20 2009, 2:18 am

what happened? shouldn't something have happened by now if that case had any merit at all? Could it be that it was rejected and dismissed as the fanatical fringe baseless right-wing slander that it is? Looks like it. Have a nice day, on this, the 20th of january.

and twisting my words, and misinterpreting what I did say, taking something you think I said, changing it completely, then saying that's what I said, and argueing with yourself about something I never said or implied and what it means. you're so far away from reality at this point that I don't know how anything can bring you back. I will say this, at the time I looked, and I did look and search hard, there was nothing on CNN.com related to the story, and when I checked again later, the tv report they aired that I found a video of had nothing supporting the side that you're backing(and don't try to deny that you're backing the side of those bringing these rediculous claims against obama, you spam for them constantly) and infact they talked about how the case was thrown out by every judge it hit, how the case itself had zero merit, and that the guy kept appealing going to one justice after another, so to save time, when it came up again, one of the justices schedualed a conference with all the justices, in which if they voted to either rehear the case in full in the supreme court,(as it was an appeal of a previous judges decision,) or reject it completely with no further chance of appeal to the supreme court, which meant he couldn't keep bringing it to each justice individually hoping one would take it, and guess what happened next, they flatout rejected it. I don't know what Your definition of "It being in the supreme court" is, but when a guy constantly asks the justices for an appeal to his junk lawsuit being dismissed, and one of them says basically "look, we don't want you to keep bothering us individually with this crap, so I'll see if ANY of the justices want to hear your junk lawsuit in court," and later the vote is held in which not one of them did, and on monday the case is on the list of the Rejected cases that the supreme court will not hear, I wouldn't count that or any of the other frivolous cases on the rejected list to have "made it to the supreme court", because it clearly didn't, it was rejected. infact you saying it did is like you saying you fucked paris hilton just because you've seen her porn and wrote a fanletter saying you wanna fuck her, but she didn't write you back. That doesn't count as fucking her, and this junk suit's re-appeal to be reheard being denied doesn't mean it was heard by the supreme court, and therefor doen't get the "bragging right" to say "It was heard by the supreme court so it must be valid!", no, it wasn't and it isn't. As for the similar cases brought on by similar idiots, all of them have been rejected so far, and the few remaining that haven't been rejected yet will be, for the exact same reasons that all the others before them were rejected. What on earth makes you believe that it will be any different for these cases?

(aka barack Obama ) supporting my side ? Are you saying this hasn't made it to the Supreme Court ?... I believe it was Friday of last week ... you saying theres nothing on that fact..anywhere .. have you looked ? Curious as the Supreme Court decided to reject the case ... how do you suppose they rejected something they (according to you ) know nothing about ?

there are 60 words in this comment ( not counting the id).
How many are you seeing ........?

CNN eh?

Dec 11 2008, 5:09 am

Namedropping only works when the name backs you up, there's nothing on CNN.com supporting your side. What were you calling a fact? BTW, if you look it up anywhere exept for on the crazy lawyers site that you're trying to lead people to you'll see that the facts are not on your side, infact the facts directly contradict what your side is saying. Did you "know" that?

Fear? lol

Dec 5 2008, 2:07 pm

no, no fear coming from me, I simply stated common knowledge refuting the outragous claims and rumors that that lawyer is trying to sell as facts. He's the one who's afraid, he's afraid the "secret muslim" Myth could be true, and wants us to be afraid too, and is taking his paranoid fears to the supreme court. meanwhile you've been posting about it everywhere trying to drum up support for this fallacy by insisting people google a term leading directly to that very lawyers website and about 1000 right wing conspiracy nuts websites or blogs on it, all with a message of fear and slander, some of it bordering on the treasonous. I'm not afraid, regardless of how much you're bunch is trying to scare people, in fact it is they who are afraid, and as they say, fear leads to the dark side, and they are clearly already there.

Barry Soetoro

Dec 4 2008, 5:04 am

Dec 3 2008, 5:33 pm

you done predicting the future? you've been blabbing about it on every obama related and unrelated article I see here, we heard you the first time, you think the petition based on spin that's been brought up by a clinton supporter and thrown out by judges will somehow be heard in the supreme court and miraculously render the election void even though the facts disprove his claims. At this point it's already been said, and repeated several times now by you, looks like you're just trying to add to the number of hits on the guys website, who then uses the number of hits to try to show that "people are concerned about this", when really most of them just look once, see that it's based on untrue rumors and leave. here's 10 words that should help people who are confused about the truth on the matter: "The state of hawaii confirmed his birth certificate is legitimate." and here's 21 more about the citizenship thing: "Neither country allowed dual citizenship, if citizenship isn't confirmed at age 21 it is revoked. Obama lived in america before 21."

Nope, it isn't. We finally get someone in office who isn't a right wing lunatic just in time to pull us back from the ledge. A real american who will give us the change america has needed for so long. Someone who will fight for the common man instead of kneeling before the rich man. It's something we can all be proud of, and will help shake off the bad image that the world has of us from the last 8 years of bush. Yep, it's going to be alright.

Look, it would be great if pot were legalized across the US and it would even be good if it were decriminalized across the US but it probably won't happen in my life time if it happens at all. I've been smoking for 32 years and haven't been busted yet. Instead of getting pissed about the situation, I just fire up a good ol' bud and forget about it. My suggestion to all of you who are getting pissed about this is to fire one up and get used to doing it in hiding. You still get just as stoned and without the anger. Reading all these heated comments has caused me to fire one up as we speak. LATER!!!

And now they want us to vote? Oh thats right, only if its how they say we should vote. I am done with you all HT. I warned you burning bridges inside the Legalize community would be bad. Now I will continue to express that here, where I dont have to pay for you views to be shoved down my throat. Also, I am still waiting for a response to the posts on the link above. Recreationalisationgasm

Nov 6 2008, 9:52 am

When does recreational use become legal? I don't want it legal for medicinal reasons, I want it legal because it grows. Anything that grows should not be illegal. Poppies aren't illegal and that's where you get heroin; Cannabis has much more aesthetic and aromatic appeal than Papaver. I forget, I'm preaching to believers, but still, BASTARDS!. ...Is it legal yet?

lath

Nov 5 2008, 12:13 pm

to matt: Youre wrong about legalization. Sure, the gov could TRY to cut off supply(just like they TRY now). They wouldnt be any more succesful than they are now at doing that. Plus, under legalization, its highly likely that a HUGE number of people would simply grow their own. So there wouldnt be a supply shortage. Taxation? I dont think they could tax it effectively. I think thats one of the main reasons its still illegal.

Let's face it , mary jane wont be legal tomorrow, but this is a good start, definately better than the old man, I voted straight DEMOCRATIC, I hope our country can now(in-time) LEGALIZE and DECRIMINALIZE this sacred plant that has been used and abused for CENTURIES(and by "abused" I mean "DEMONIZED")

Why was weed illegal in this country in the first place? oh yea, didnt it have something to do with the old-time WHITE MAN sayin' herb, made the MEXICANS and BLACKS go "crazy" and rape WHITE WOMEN...or at least thats one of the reasons I've heard from time to time, ha, guess that BS is out the QUESTION NOW!!!!

I love weed as much as the rest of you and legalizing it for med use is definatley a good thing, but what people dont realize is if weed is 100 percent legalized we would get f***** one way or another. The government would either cut all outside connections out other than there own and jack the prices up for us or we would pay at tax time. Personally Obama's comments about cannabis never was a factor for me voting for him. It was more of the way he was running his ads, he was not attacking McCain in every ad but instead was really trying to get something done and voiced his opinion of what needs to be done but hey if he will stop the medical marijuana raids that have been going on that is a better step forward then McCain has offered

Obama : " the way I want to approach the issue of mdical marijuana is to base it on science. And IF there is sound science that supports the use of medical marijuana , and IF it is controlled and prescribed in a way that other medecine is prescribed , then its something we should consider "

1) " if there is sound science " .. the Feds do not consider any science promoting the use of mmj as sound . Onama is a Fed . So no wiggly room there .
2) "and if it is controlled and prescribed in a way that other medicine is prescribed " .. It is against Federal law , you have to have a permit to even have it on a state level , no other medicine is grown and cultivated by its patients ..so no wiggly room there either .
3) "then its something we should consider " ...nothing to attach a promise to here either .

Use your heads not your hearts . If you want Obama in , base it on something real

"'I think we need to rethink and decriminalize our marijuana laws,' Mr. Obama told an audience during a debate at Northwestern University in 2004. 'But I'm not somebody who believes in legalization of marijuana.' His campaign says, "Senator Obama does not believe in legalization of marijuana, but agrees with President Bush that long minimum sentences for first-time drug users may not be the best way to occupy jail space or heal people from their disease." -Washington Times

"When asked if he would curtail DEA raids of medical marijuana growers he said 'I would because I think our federal agents have better things to do, like catching criminals and preventing terrorism. The way I want to approach the issue of medical marijuana is to base it on science, and if there is sound science that supports the use of medical marijuana and if it is controlled and prescribed in a way that other medicine is prescribed, then it's something that I think we should consider.'"

Obama has not promised to do anything regarding marijuana .
Not in this video or any other media . There is no quote from him making any promise anywhere . If this bullshit about a promise was the deciding factor in choosing him , you now know better . Does this mean he won't do anything ? No , but he certainly hasn't promised to either .
