Busted Letter #105 – No Escape

In July of this year I went to Ohio to see my sons before they left to serve in out great military. I got into a bit of an argument with my sons, so, rather than fight with them, I decided to go off on my own and sit down by the lake.

I found a nice secluded spot and took my CD player, a blanket and a book and went to just sit down in peace. Like most fishing places there was all kinds of tackle just laying on the ground so I took a branch from a tree, found me some fishing line, and even found me a hook, but no worm so I improvised and used a slug.

I threw my line all of three feet out and proceeded to sit and just reflect. As I was sitting there and smoking me a joint I felt this presence behind me. I turned around and there stood a ranger.

The first question out of his mouth was, “Do you have a fishing license?” Unbelievable. Of course, I did not, and since I was clearly upset (from the earlier argument) and he saw that my truck had out of state tags, the next thing I know he wants to search my truck.

As I proceeded to tell him I had about seven prescriptions from doctors he then called an ambulance for fear I was trying to take my life. Then he started searching my truck. As I'm sitting in the ambulance he comes over and tells me I'm under arrest for possession. And off to jail I went.

Twenty-four hours later I'm finally bonded out. I have three tickets: one for possession, one for having papers, and one for disorderly conduct. My truck had been towed off, so when I went to get it I found that my prescriptions were missing but there was still a bag of roaches and a bowl in my truck. Hmmm.

So the outcome of this story is it cost me over $500 in fines, $1500 for an attorney and $100 for the tow all for wanting to be out in nature alone to just smoke a joint. What is wrong with this picture?

I sympathise with ya man.I had a similar experience posted on here "fishin for trouble" way back in like august 2003 I think.I had my stash hidden in a log thankfully but they still busted me for fishing without a license even though I was using a stick for a pole and some bone for a hook.

My life is pretty decent. I make an honest living. I not rich,nor do I make alot of money.But it is a legit job.
I am fortinute enough to have a friend that I trust that I can get smoke from.so I don't have to cruise the streets looking for it.
another thing to be considered I don't know if any of you guys are married or not,but you could have your wife drive the school bus for insurance on the family.(They do drug test and ramdon)This is not a problem for us because my wife doesn't smoke.
Just some ideals. I don't really understand why you guys would invest all that time,money and effort into growing though.There is to much riskand I find it cheaper to just buy it $1500.lb for good stuff.I have seen mexican around here belive it or not for as low as $800.lb(dirt weed)

Sorry I was just trying to be helpful.
But keep in mind you can sell your buisness and make profit or at least get your money back out of it when you sell.
I actually am an owner/operator of a route.
I pretty much buy my products wholesale then sale them to grocer's and convenice stores.
My route I bought the territory and can sell at anytime and the company I distribute for will help with the sale.Beat part is I am considered independent contractor and do not work for the company so there is no drug testing.
The worst they could do to me is force me to sell,but they would have to have a reason such as the route not being worked and full of rotated stock.It would not even matter if they knowed that I smoked,because I own the territory and my own truck and warehouse.

I don't mean to insult any of you'll.I only like to try to help out.
where I live the cops are very hard on drugs exspecially marijuana.The local paper comes out twice a week and is full of bust.K-9 unit is always working the town and are very agressive.You difently would not want to smoke and let it be known here.

I don't support the black market either.
For the most part the commercial dealers are scumbags and a black market keeps corruption alive and well.

I'm a construction worker who was busted by my union. The Laborers' Union in Illinois started its draconian random test program in October. I tryed to flush out with 64 oz. of gatorade loaded with vitamin b and creatine but they use the EMIT system and I tested positive for pot. I should have orederd the Whizzinator back in June when the program was announced.

What's funny about this is that if you have a job, you will keep the job untill you're laid off. Then the "union" puts you on inactive status for two weeks the first time, ninety days the second, 6 months the third, and 1 year for all subsequent flunks and you have to pay for counseling and a drug test to prove you're clean. I though the whole idea was to get dangerous dopers out of the workplace!

Also, people who've had jobs after the program started don't have to turn in their consent forms. If they get laid off they have to sign the form to get another job. That means that those of us who were out of work when the program was instituted are the only ones in the pool for the random picks, thus we have a greater chance of being chosen than we should have. Very unfair.

I don't fell like I belong to a union anymore. the Laborers' International Union of North America should take the word "union" out of their name. They're just a bunch of pro-boss suckasses!

what is next should be an outcry for some changes. when you go back to court the taxpayers are unaware of your crime, so when the city or state spends thousands of dollars on judges (appx salary 120,000 a year)and court personal (appx costs 200,000 a year) to get a conviction i think the taxpayers would be appaled for such waste of resoruces. your arrest compares to over 700,000 marijuana users that have had or been in similar situations.the taxpayers need to no this, so be loud and be proud and express yourself in court and let the judge know, we are not criminals we are human and we do not hurt no one we live are lives no differnt than theirs. good luck

I usually try to be positive and uplifting on here but from what is stated in this story, dude should have found a more secluded area. Maybe paying a little more attention would have served him well also. I know that long before I "felt a presence behind me" I would have heard someone sneaking up on me. A lot of stupid busts to nice people due to the fact that they aren't covering their asses! We need to exercise more responsibility when it comes to set and setting.
