***JULY 2009 HIGH TIMES UNSIGNED BAND OF THE MONTH***

 

Rock music with a bit of a roll…

 

The Volunteers are served straight up in the single malt blend that is New York City. A band led by songwriter Dan Goddard (guitar, vocals), this group has been thoroughly entertaining audiences across the country with intelligent, poetic and often humorous songs that are instantly memorable. The band has toured nationally and been met by enthusiastic crowds that were left excited and wanting more.

 

Their recent album Spectrophilia, released in September 2008, was recorded at Monsterland Studio in Brooklyn with Producer/Engineer Paul Mahajan (Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, TV on the Radio, The National) and featuring contributions from Stuart Bogie (Antibalas) and Clint Steele (Swans).

hello, we would like to thank High times for choosing us as the band of the week. With over 50 cumulative years of pot smoking experience, we feel we are definitely qualified for this position.

If we are coming to a town near you, bring your finest herbs and celebrate with us!

and yes all of our songs were written, recorded and performed under the influence of whatever we can get our hands on!

yeah!!! i saw these guys at a festival last summer and they ruled. im gonna get off my azz and actually buy your music now! just don't stop singing about addero..and yes i think they smoke..the singer talked pretty slow between songs..! maybe high times will book them a tour!!!
