Market Analysis:

Is it possible the stoner community’s Kush lust is coming to an end? After assuming its customary position as the month’s most submitted strain in January, Kush has now failed to find the top spot two out of three times in the first quarter of 2009. However, the ballyhooed strain’s average price remains close to its year-to-date average. The top 5 submitted strains (with average price) were: Northern Lights ($393), Diesel ($499), Kush ($430), Purps ($563) and Strawberry Cough ($425).

Index Watch: Every index rose from its previous month’s average with the exception of Mids. Apparently, February was the month to score your schwag as it dipped to a paltry $59 an ounce, before rebounding by $35 in March.

CURRENT US PRICE INDEX: $391 (last month: $364, Year-to-Date: $383)

CURRENT KIND INDEX ($350+ PER OZ): $483 ($465, $467)
CURRENT MIDS INDEX ($150-$349 PER OZ): $259 ($270, $264)

People who can grow their own dont seem to understand that you have to pay people to run this shit out east, then the guy who gets it marks it up again. thats why everything is 4's and 5's in the midwest

Growing hops and smoking pot...
Last three batches have been Sensi Star (Indica) Grape Ape (Sativa) and Sour Diesel (Hybrid)all for $325-$350 an O. Would be nice to actually order herb by name and not just get what the runner gets. Time for a strain rotation. However, it is fun to Grape Ape as a wake-n-bake and then hit the Sensi Star for an evening high. Stock up, rotate strains and don't run out.

So here's my question: I bought the March 2009 issue of High Times in January at a bookstore in Atlanta. There was a THMQ for March in that magazine. How the hell do they know what stuff is going to be selling for in March, when it wasn't even February yet?! Smells like some bullshit to me.

Same goes for the new May 2009 issue. It ain't even the end of March yet, but they have May prices in the THMQ. How can they make that shit up and be thought legit? Doesn't make sense to me, but maybe I'm just stoned.

Tired of dirt weed

Mar 20 2009, 2:21 am

I live in So. Tx. and all we can get is bricked schwag from Mexico. It's only $50 an oz. but you gotta smoke half a bag to get a decent buzz and then your chest hurts because the shit is so harsh. Just got some seeds from Holland and will be planting them next week. No more supporting the cartels for me. Stop the Buy grow your own!

The prices per ounce look a little steep, but if you're a medical user who can make an eighth last awhile, it's not too prohibitive.
My state only covers one illness that I have, but MMJ is working on about three other ailments as well. The end result is that I have to pay considerably less out of pocket for medications. (I'm not insured.)
No place to grow it, which bites, but it beats the alternative of suffering with pharms that offer no real relief.

Burnnugs i hate you..... nah j/p, we get pretty decent stuff here in melbourne, fl. but not like what you were naming off.... we get "kush" and "chemdog"... it's 450 an O, it's like come on man..... it's good and all but shit... hurntin the pockets...

BURNNUGS

Mar 16 2009, 5:42 pm

Good thing I live in cali. It must suck being in those other states. I can get shwag for 50 an ounce, purps from humboldt thats crystally for 230 in SF through my best connect. High grade is 300 to 400 depending on what club you go to, but best high grade that is actually not a rip off is alittle over 300 like Romulan, Purple Romulan, Alaskan Thunderfuck, Grandaddy Purple, Supersilver haze. All less than 2 miles from the small town i live in. 40-50 an 8th

GROW

Mar 16 2009, 10:42 am

Dang, had too put a couple of new seeds in this am,one never did anything and the other had damaged roots and was trying to
die,so I offed it and replaced it. (sound of taps is heard)
But the four that are up now look great, and two of them are
already opening their second set of jagged leaves,so the grow is on. Will make a quick inspection of my outdoor grow, but don't expect ground has warmed up enough for them to germinate yet. If they have started, will probably have a night or two of having to cover them before all cold has quit coming down.
STOP the BUY GROW YOUR OWN

Hey Richmond

Mar 14 2009, 11:35 pm

And your happy paying that price? I'm just gonna take a guess
but I'm betting that you don't work in a 7-11 or Walmart,and
I bet you've never wondered how you were going too pay your gas bill either. So what I'm saying is,do you consider yourself to be in the majority of Americans. The prices reflected on the above page only have 2 prices that fit the majority of Americans, that was in CO and MO,which is why the government and big business will never get it right when they try to sell and tax people on pot. They will go beyond the budget of most Americans and will just underwrite the
drug cartels,or the new ones that start up if they manage to kill all the ones that are in it today. It's a catch 22.

DECLARATION of PEACE

Mar 14 2009, 11:09 pm

We,the marijuana smoking people of America,do here and now declare that the war on marijuana is now over. We will no longer buy marijuana from anyone or sell marijuana to anyone.
We will either grow our own marijuana,or hire gardeners or skilled persons to maintain our own personal gardens,so that we can be 100% sure that our money is not going too any
terroristic or unlawful activities by anyone. We will donate
any excess too a local community pot bank for medical use.
We promise too spend the money we now spend on marijuana in the American economy. We believe this will do more for the economy than letting the government collect taxes and use it
responsibly, like they have now for so long, and we believe
it will help the economy more than if big business makes money from it and continues with their present practices
with money. We will BEAT the CARTELS,BEAT BIG BUSINESS and we will do it with a hoe and a water can.
STOP the BUY GROW YOUR OWN

If you can live with that pledge,copy/paste it too your federal and state reps, and yes,too OBAMA too.

The cold snap is over here for now, will be putting some fertilizer in my Patriotic pot garden spot, very lightly.
Going shopping for worm castings to start them off,and when they get 12 inch deep roots, they'll be eating on fish.
The rainforest has 5 out of six plants up and will have to put another seed in if no response by am. Work,Work,Work
Should receive next grow light about Tuesday,it'll help.
I wish I had money to just throw into this, but gotta walk before I can run. And the crappie are starting too bite here,
another spring is around the corner.
STOP the BUY GROW YOUR OWN

Mine is built

Mar 14 2009, 4:16 pm

I wish I had a job sitting around, thinking of ways to charge people that can't afford it,money for something I,personally had nothing to do with. And,just like our federal reps, during
the worst recession since the 30's,could vote myself it's annual raise. What a fucking concept. BEAT the CARTELS,BEAT BIG BUSINESS,BEAT TERRORISTS within and without the US and do it with a hoe and a water can. STOP the BUY, GROW YOUR OWN

bitching about growers overpricing while they spend the cost of an entire growroom(single phase feast/famine)supplying their habit for one month really bugs me. jesus sacrifice for awhile, get a light system, supplies, seeds, and start growing. in the course of the next few months work quick do it again. youre set up for perpetual harvest.one room with moms and cut clones feeding a 12/12 weekly with rooted clones and after the first harvest you never buy again, add to that dont tell/dont sell and you smoke comfortable...lifelong. stop the "drug war" on weed, dont sell dont buy.

As a native kansas I am mad to see that someone submitted that shitty price. 700 for a zone is way more than coke wtf. Who ever submitted that is getting jacked

Inquisitive minds

Mar 13 2009, 7:42 am

And what do we do,when we find out that some of the anti-drug
groups are actually drug cartel sponsored,to keep Americans confused and spread propaganda to delay, and or stop legislation that will cut into their profits? And it is quite possible that most of the nerds in the organization might not know where their paychecks come from. JUst meandering along.

amen

Mar 13 2009, 7:15 am

as some congressman scans down the price's listed here,do you think he'll notice the $60 pot in CO.? Or the $65 pot in KS?
Nooooo,he'll be building castles in the clouds thinking of
the taxes he can make off the $700 pot in Dallas and the other over-priced yuppie smoke that High Times has come too represent. Because the real people in America aren't smoking
the shit they love showing in this magazine, unless, they are
either rich, growing their own or have rich friends. So the idea of the government and big business getting into the pot market scares the hell out of me. I predict a long, violent and
profitable life for the drug cartels.
