Unsigned Bands: Twiddle

Twiddle:
***SEPTEMBER 2009 HIGH TIMES UNSIGNED BAND OF THE MONTH***
The Oxford Dictionary defines the word “twiddle” as: Noun: A rapid or intricate series of musical notes. Verb: To play or fiddle with something …
This sounds about right for the rising Vermont-based, jam-heavy, progressive-rock foursome, Twiddle. The band’s intricate, complex compositions cut notes with precision, and their high-energy, rapid-fire playing keeps fans doing way more than just fiddling about – rather, their collective sweaty soles are kept stirring, keeping pace with every blast, every roar, every ascension into sweet jam heaven.
Hailing from the Castleton area in Southern Vermont, the band’s brotherly relationship affords them the remarkable ability to read one another on stage and carry improvised jams to far-strung melodious dimensions. Their jams flow effortlessly, teasing and tantalizing the audience with tight, majestic hooks and tasty pockets of funk.
The foursome, who have been writing and playing together for four years, have all been rocking their instruments for half their lives. Feeding off their fans’ frenzied bootie-shaking and bellows for more, the depths of musical exploration and discovery they hit show no bounds.
Twiddle is as much at home outside singing to the sun or rocking under the stars as onstage inside a packed, pulsating venue. Regular radio and weekly gigs throughout New England and New York allow the band to continually expand their musical palettes. Twiddle continually demonstrates a boundless energy, never shying away from taking on a third or even fourth set, sending their devoted dance party twisting and turning late into the night. An explosive live show that ebbs and flows and rocks and climaxes and grooves, keeps their fans hungry yet fulfilled, and twiddling their thumbs until the next show.

Like if Coltrane and Miles Davis had a baby, and Ernest Ranglin and Les Claypool had a baby; and those two babies got together and had a baby... it would be Twiddle (ok, so that's a little creepy).
Remember when Twiddle was the High Times Band of the Week? ...Aaaahhh, the good 'ol days. ;-)
