Wolfpin founder Marcel Scherpenzeel was born in Amsterdam. When he was 12 years old Marcel got a guitar from his older brother and he hasn’t looked back since. Influenced by artists like John Lee Hooker, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Rory Gallagher, and Jimi Hendrix, Marcel’s sound blends rock, Texas-blues, pop, soul and rock and roll – by way of the Netherlands.
Marcel has shared the stage with numerous musicians, including Gerry McAvoy and Brendan O'neill (Rory Gallagher Band) Dave Gonzales (The Paladins), Ron Hacker, and Alex Schultz. He’s also played festivals throughout Europe, including the Jimi Hendrix Revival Festival (Germany), Enniscorthy Blues Festival (Ireland), Open Air Am Bergen (Germany), Harley Davidson Super Rally (Belgium), Paaspop (NL), Bospop (NL), and the Peer Blues Festival 2009 (Belgium).
Marcel formed the band Wolfpin in 2007 with Henk Scott on Bass and Maarten Witsel on Drums. Their debut album, Remember, was released in February 2009. Check out Wolfpin on the Web for audio samples, tour dates and more.
