The most prestigious name in pot expands operations with a new medical marijuana magazine, a California-based Medical Cannabis Cup, and its first-ever West Coast office.

With New Jersey signing on as America’s 14th medical marijuana state, and the Obama administration taking a state’s rights approach to enforcement, HIGH TIMES knows the time is right to launch HIGH TIMES Medical Marijuana News and Reviews, an all-new newsstand magazine focused on the needs of medical cannabis patients and providers nationwide.
To be published quarterly starting February 2nd, the premiere issue of HIGH TIMES Medical Marijuana features contributions from leaders of the medical cannabis movement -- including Americans for Safe Access, Berkeley Patients Group, Harborside Health Center, NORML, WAMM, MAPS and Dr. Lester Grinspoon of Harvard Medical School -- who help explain medical cannabis laws state-by-state, including how to get a doctor’s recommendation and medical ID, how to find the best medical marijuana dispensaries near you, how to choose the right strains, hash and edibles once you arrive, how to get a truly “green job” in the legal cannabis industry, and how to get involved in the fight to protect the rights of medical marijuana patients and providers nationwide.
HIGH TIMES is also proud to announce that our first annual Medical Cannabis Cup will be held this June 19-20, in San Francisco. Modeled after the HIGH TIMES Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam, this new competition will include expert judging of the best and most medicinal cannabis, hashish and edibles from California’s legal medical marijuana dispensaries. Lead by acknowledged experts in medical marijuana, our small panel of expert judges will award Cannabis Cups based on the medical efficacy of the submitted varieties, and will provide notes on the winners designed to help legal medical marijuana patients make well-informed decisions when seeking their medicine.
HIGH TIMES first annual Medical Cannabis Cup will also include a two-day medical cannabis and hemp expo that will include cultivation seminars with HIGH TIMES editors Jorge Cervantes, Danny Danko and Nico Escondido, activism sessions with leaders of the medical marijuana movement and major cannabis celebrities, an all-star Medical Cannabis Cup awards ceremony, and an unforgettable party with surprise musical guests.
To coordinate these new ventures, and to continue the magazine’s comprehensive coverage of the emerging medical marijuana movement, HIGH TIMES will soon open its first ever West Coast Office, headed by Senior Editor David Bienenstock, a seven year veteran of the magazine and author of The Official HIGH TIMES Pot Smoker’s Handbook.

Congrats to David and H.T. for bringing in another resource that will with no doubt help patients and care givers in immeasurable ways.
Despite endless web research and personal experience, I still end up trying strains in more or less a hit or miss fashion.
There's a lot of good information out there, and plenty of bad.
Typical scenario: "Oh man, this bud is 70% Indica. Great for stopping night terrors!" I hear, believe and then spend the entire night scrubbing my bath tub, but not sleeping!
I know that the expertise I've counted on from HT will be carried on in this new publication.

THE PROTECTION IS ALREADY IN THE CONSTITUTION IN THE FORM OF THE SECOND AMENDMENT.

the president told congress that it did not matter if they did not approve the health care overhaul, he said they would just go around the constitution and pass it anyways, what kind of protection can we add in the constitution if they don't even care about it. they keep spending and spending and spending and spending and spending, and attacking law abiding dispensaries and people with cannabis recommendations, and using money we don't have to put cannabis patients and dispensary owners in prison, and at the same time they are releasing thousands of violent convicts because of overcrowded prisons, it is insane.

WHEN IT COMES NATURAL MEDICINES, "MARIJUANA" PLUS ALL THE PLANT BASED HERBS, SEEDS, OILS etc.., AND ALL THE SUPPLIMENTS DERIVED FROM THEM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS VERY WELL ON THE WAY TO MAKING THEM NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO GET WITHOUT FIRST GOING THROUGH A BIG PHARMACUETICAL COMPANY AND THEIR OVER PRICED INSURRANCE POLICIES AND APPROVED DOCTORS!!!
