The reason you consent is because if you don't the pigs have signed search warrants in their cruiser because by you saying no consent, that is automatically probabale cause for search and seizure.

First off, why consent to a search. Never! Second, what prompted the officer to ask to search. (Did the officer think that the passengers were terrorists because they were speeding.) Either way, it happened, and he has the money to deal with it. So sad.

I'm from Toronto, Canada. Up here, in a situation like that, the cop will usually give you the option of letting one guy take the rap for all the dope. I don't see why Caulkin's buddy didn't just say it was his. Again, as long as you are polite and cooperative, up here, the cop will only bust one guy.

I live in Oklahoma, around the oklahoma city area. and i can tell you that cops here are dicks about having any marijuana. but he also got caught with a lot of valium.
