The starting location for the May 2nd March will be Washington Place between Washington Sq East and Broadway. Time: 11 am to 1:30 PM., with the last half hour or so dedicated to whipping enthusiasm to march up to the U.N.

1:30 to 2:30 PM — March up 3rd Ave to 48th St.

2:30 to 6:30 PM — Concert/Rally, 1st Ave & 47th St. The morning starts with a warm-up for the Cures not Wars March. The March ends at Dag Hammarskjold with a rally against, among other things, the racist use of the “public display” misdemeanor provision of the Padavan law against black and Latino youth. Come by 9 Bleecker to pick up posters. Promote, promote, promote. And catch comedy night in the Cafe at 9 Bleecker on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 PM. Streaming video...

I can understand not knowing about the Million marijuana if you are new to the marijuana legalization effort.

Since it was the 10th Annual march. And this is the age of lightning quick communications. there is/was really no excuse for not knowing about the March.

But bitching is the easy part-eh? Anyone can do that. Can ya walk the standrad that you complainers are holding others up to?

I'm sorry but these people are terrible activists, you don't arrange a "million" person march on short notice haha. You're only going to get a hand full... and you're going to be laughed at and ultimately hurt legalization efforts. It's May 8th and this is the first I've even heard of this! Just give a good 6 month notice and PROMOTE the hell out of it.

210 - just messin with you cuz you're blasting fellow smokers. Not many of us can even afford the gas to drive cross-country, even for such a worthy cause.

Not to mention your post was sent during the event - so wireless was my first thought. And I did complete the letters to house/congress/obama. Post a link to every representative of both houses, and every president in every country, and I'll sign that too.

Maybe then Estonia wouldn't have been the first govt to be shut down by computer failures due to spam/hackers. I don't advocate spam, but legitimate e-mails from voters - totally!

I agree with the advance posting. I would have loved to take one of my recently manicured sweeties to this event, and had no idea until after. I was focused on the 420 in NY that I also was unable to attend. But what the fuck folks. I'll burn one, and march up and down the street everyday with a sign that reads.. One day while digging up extinct dinosaurs, I hope they find the republicans there....

I think you should be giving NOTICE six months in advance so people can get prepared. Saturday May the 2nd is not really giving people time to make arragements. I think more people would turn out if you set a date alittle later and publish the hell out of the fact that it's going to be six months down the road so people can be there in numbers. Maybe next year you'll give people an advance notice of six months so more people can be there.

Where is Dana speaking at in this photo? Sad but this is how most marches and rallys look. About 20 people, maybe 100 throughout the day.
Look at how few posted here at this call to action. Seems common when there is a call to action. The loudest complainers are nowhere to be found to help carry the water.
