New Information Regarding Police Seizures of Overgrow.com

Overgrow.com, Cannabisworld.com, Heaven's Stairway Seed Company and Eurohemp.com Owners Apprehended.

Cannabis Culture has developed a timeline of events we believe accurately account for the disappearance of Overgrow.com, Cannabisworld.com, Heaven's Stairway Seeds (hempqc.com), and Eurohemp.

On Monday evening, resident of Montreal Richard Calrisian, the owner of the four websites, was contacted by his web service providers in Vancouver where his servers were situated. They told him that there may be a problem, regarding a police investigation. RC told his provider to shut down the websites immediately.

Within hours, the police (it's unknown what kind of police) apparently entered the server site in Vancouver with a warrant and apprehended the hardware that housed the four web sites.

In the early morning of Tuesday, police in Montreal moved in and arrested RC, his wife, family members and an unknown number of employees.

It is alleged that RC, a pseudonym, is being held at Riviere-des-Prairie (RDP) jail in Montreal, and his wife in is Tanguay jail, across the river from RDP. Cannabis Culture called the prison and found no one there under the name Richard Calrisian.

The bail hearing should be on Monday, but it is unusual that a bail hearing has not yet been held. Typically they take place within 24 hours of arrest, unless an investigation is ongoing and the accused are being held temporarily without bail. This may be because there is a risk that the arrest news might inform other persons who are also under investigation.

Earlier reports of a drug bust in Hearst, Ontario are not related the seizure of Overgrow.com websites.

WHY NOT? think about it... the more people who know the truth
& know how to provide them self with the medicine they need, the better our whole society will be... that's what I think.

I know that there are some people out there who need their medicine, but don't know what they are doing at all... mostly they just want to know how to get started & want to see what their strain is SUPPOSED to look like.

that's what this site is all about...

This is just sad... I'm a medical marijuana patient, and have been to the site hundreds, if not thousands of times. The forum was the best and had all the info one needs to create good medicine, so that it is healthy with all the macro, micro minerals, charts, trouble shooting, and tips. Not to mention a place where one felt they did not have to hide for what they believe in. I for one am disappointed. Not only to the government but the fact that they really do not care about the sick and the terminally ill patients (that includes MY MOTHER)! While she sits here WAITING to DIE from breast cancer, and as it metastasized into her bones, a tumor wrapped around her spine, which gives her no possible treatment (she would be paralyzed for the rest of her life, and still be in pain if surgery was an option...It isn't). The DR's said to do ANYTHING that alleviates her pain, as Heavy pain killers on the market didn't help at all. It all just proves that the Government doesn’t care about the sick and ill people who have no other options for cancer, AIDs, and chronic pain. So when any government agency or someone with authority says, “Hello! I’m from the Government, and I am here to help you!” It’s all crap. I’ll miss the site, and I’ll miss my Mother when she is gone, passing away in pain

DAMN IT!!!!!! i had like 4k posts on overgrow.. now i rembember a while back i was going 2 log on (like normal) hit overgrow.com and nothing happend.. after 100's of attempts 2 get on the site i gave up and the memory of the best site on the planet randomly poped into my head over the years.. wow man.. just think of the information that the cops(DEA) could get with just an ip address and sum pictures.. DAMN bro HOPE ALL IS WELL RC!!!!! FREE RC!!!!!!

its a shame that in a world and time, when government of U.S. and other countries, have other things that are much more important, to worry about..., instead they waste resourses and time on things that are not of any concern at least to a law inforcement. There many drugs that are being sold over the counter, that much more harmful to humans than marijuana or hashish.

We can't change the opinion of the people in power now. I don't know why people don't understand that. What we need to do is continue and intensify education of the younger generations. We are the ones who will be in those offices in a couple of years. Baby boomers are goin down and were gonna take the stands. Who's views do you think we will represent? Ours, or the old coots who we all despise. As for the planet getting fucked, she's already fighting back with us. Then planet will take care of herself. It's not a matter of us saving the planet but preserving our privalage to live on it. Once she decides that we were a lost cause with no hope of living harmoniously, we will get wiped out. 100 years without humans and Gaea will have taken back the entire planet. Hopefully we won't force her into that course of action. Overgrow the Government!

No shit, don't you see we're all going about things the wrong way? If we really want marijuana to be legalized, we have to stop hurling abuse at our governments to do so, otherwise they will continue to see us stoners as a threat. Now, I know that this view of us being a threat to the safety of our communities is ridiculous, but the general population is misinformed (spelling?) about the effects of cannabis, and some people genuinly do believe that it makes people violent etc. Instead of telling these people that they are fucking morons, we simply need to explain to them that they have been fed incorrect information (deliberately or not), and then explain to them what marijuana REALLY does.
It isn't just the general public that needs to be correctly informed, our governments and politicians also need to be re-educated. You can come up with all the government-marijuana related conspiracy theories that you like, but is that going to change anything? I personally subscribe to a few of these theories myself, but does anyone think that the government might actually be misinformed on marijuana? Maybe they genuinly see it as a threat to society, due to themselves being misinformed.

To whoever is reading this, keep smoking pot, and keep up the good fight... maybe it's just time this fight for our rights took a new direction.

Well, overgrow was definately one of the biggest most comprehensive sites out there. But, we will always have the ability to start again with a new site(s), but most importantly we will always have word of mouth. So spread the word, tell everyone you know who grows everything you know about growing and tell them to do the same. That way the cycle will always continue, people will always grow, and people will always know that growing is part of life. Take care everyone and know your rights as a human being!

I believe the "Internet Wayback Machine" is the site you are referencing, but Overgrow.com has been "blocked" and is not available on the archive. This can be done by a site owner, but I suspect the authorities would have some ability to initiate a block. There are probably archives of the data, but I don't know how you find it.

Aren't there cached copies of OverGrow.com somewhere on the internet?

I saw a site a few years a go that could show you a history of cached copies of a given webpage. Spiders gathered the latest versions of webpages and grouped them up with older versions of the same webpage. It was realy neat: I could dredge up posts I had made to an old website. So, it would maybe stand to reason that a lot of Overgrow.com is on that server (or something like it).

I could be that although OverGrow.com could be reconstructed, it might take a whole lot of time to "sew" it all together.

(Sorry if this was covered earlier in this thread. I didn't read throgh all f this thread)

Mr Emery, his website and High Times Magazine should really at least make a ATTEMPT to report facts, rather than unfounded worthless drivel.

I am absolutely shocked!!! It’s been over a year since I last visited OG.com. Like most I too came to OG as my grow bible. I remember spending many enjoyable hours reading about topping / the fim method, build an O2 machine from a neon transformer or through a fermentation jug. I will miss reading about different flora grow ratios and creative aeroponic techniques. I have learned so much valuable information that I will forever be thankful for. Great community full of great people. Overgrow.com you will be missed.

i was a memebr of OG.com and i can truly say i really miss it.
i added many pics of my grow rooms and make a few guides for the site. now that is all lost. i cant believe the government is contoling freedom of speach. thats what the site provided. there are many people out there just starting to grow and they had many guilds and walkthrews to make a good plant and keeping it healthy. i miss og.

Hey everyone,
Im sure I speak for many when I say that Overgrow was a unique environment where talented individuals could commune and share the latest scientific information about our favorite plant. I think that some of the bright minds at overgrow were unmatched in their skills and had so much to share with us that one could get enough education from Overgrow to warrant PHDs in Botany, Chemistry, Horticulture, and Genetics. I don't know about you people, but OG was my bible and I got much more out of it than just learning to grow beautiful plants.

MY SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM:
Create Overgrow 2.0 and base it out of AMSTERDAM! I am not joking... If people there can sell clones via their website I'm sure an informational website like the OG we all used to know and love would be much safer in a location such as this.

I will check back here and see what you have to say.

PS - RC, BOG, Gypsy, Bumboklot, Nards, and every other legend of OG - I wish you the best of luck!

I had some of the most awesomest pictures on there with my cat eating up a plant of mine that had died overnight somehow.... (Sabotage i say!) And i can only hope that they dont goto erowid... I am very Upset, Pissed, Annoyed about Overgrow's abandonment. I'm sorry. I loved that site, it gave me tonnes of Info. Talking about protests Etc... I have one possible solution but it would take a lot of money.

An advertisemnt. Showing people in a Coffee Shope in Amsterdam having a great time. Then an american Kid getting stoned being nervous then being hunted down by the cops. On screen figures are now shown about how many Juveniles in Amsterdam want to smoke weed and that compared against america. Now alcahol we go to Switzerland in the mountains or Austria or Germany where the Drinking age for Beer is 16 and all other alchahols 18 and we have kids in Europe drinking a couple beers and getting picked up by there moms and then kids in america drinking and puking and getting picked up by Cops. the the figures are shown of the Drinking ages in both Countries and then the figures for Alchaholics. The rest speaks for itself then we give a name of a candidate president.

But thats pretty much fantasy! Ofcourse it is possible. We must Hope. But we absolutely must Act.

first of all, before we blame all politicians for their transgressions against the people they represent in terms of marijuana legalization, we must assess the roots of the situation. Marijuana's ship was truly sunk by william randolph hearst(dont know how to spell his name) a newspaper tycoon who played a huge part in political machine control of lawmakers and the government. The momentum was set and now, government simply is doing what makes it so horrible, existing. In order for the government to exist, ie for certain officials such as in the dea to have jobs, they must maintain the image of MJ to be horrible. If the image changed, there would be no need for the dea to be so large and people would lose their jobs. The first elected official who truly steps forward in favor of MJ will place his job in severe jeapardy. They are not going to do it because they get plenty of money where they are at and would rather live a lavish life without MJ than work a normal job and smoke pot. Bottom line: until our government is actually radically changed at the roots into a DIRECT instead of an INDIRECT, or representative democracy, we will not enjoy all the freedoms we request. When you elect an official to represent you, you are making a sacrifice, because that same person is representing others who do not share the same view as you. Any time a person is payed to represent the people, they will take their financial security more seriously than expressing the true views of who they represent. Im sorry to kill the mood here, but i truly do not believe that MJ will ever be legalized in the US because of the way our government works. The only thing we can do as smokers is to either be extremely careful, or accept the risks of doing what you do. A huge protest in washington would probably be a good idea, but who will show? Most people who smoke are too afraid to show themselves.

When there is no record, either in the public record or the news media about his arrest.

To be honest no one really knows what has truly happened. Some say "RC" was busted, and is going through the motions, some say he was busted and working with canadian authorities. Some say he just split like a bannana. No one TRULY knows WTF is going on. Alot of controversy right now and it's going to be interesting to see what unfolds. I just hope he really isnt working with the police.

I myself want to share just one prong of PROJECT MAYHEMP that I plan to employ. Myself, I can't stand that baseless government prohibitionist propaganda you hear in the media. The one subject that really makes me roll my eyes?: Cannabis Eradication by law enforcement agencies. I plan put a monkey wrench in that little racket come spring in my area!

I challenge all of you that grow cannabis to set aside a portion of your plants each season for a seed crop and, in the words of that famous statesman, revolutionary and cannabis grower, George Washington "Make the most of the indian hemp seed and SOW IT EVERYWHERE!"

The new information on CannabisCulture indicates that there wasn't a bust after all. They state in a new article that it was all a rues instigated by RC in order to flee the country. They also say that he has all the servers with him intact, and that no one has been compromised. I hope this story is true. That would mean we probably haven't seen the end to OG.

Being someone who lives in Denmark I can say that it will probably not be an easy fix.. These guys don't believe in GOD or MUHHAMED so they don't see the harm in drawing a picture of a ficticious character..

What a trip: I have a product I thought I'd have my friend sell on ebay. I got photos together and a description. I thought I would go on ebay and see if others are selling it. I didn't see it there. Then I thought, maybe you can't sell stuff like this on ebay? And I remembered seeing something once called "c-bay". I did a search and found it was connected to canabis world. But the site wouldn't load. Tried overgrow, same thing. So I went to high times and searched for "auction" and here's this article. About the sites being shut down and the article is dated TODAY. This stuff has been boxed up with my old smoke stuff for years. And today I get it out and think I'll unload it, haven't smoked in years, and dug this box out with smoke stuff in it (and scraped some resin...) Just bizzarro that the one day I get high in years and the one day I go looking for c-bay it and these good sites are gone. I guess on the one hand I am glad I didn't put my stuff on cbay! I'd be sh*tting knowing the feds have the hardware. And for hempqc also. I used to buy my seed there and they were excellent. I agree with other posters: aren't there a whole lot of other more important things to be cracking down on? And hauling these folks away for a week without bail? F*cked up. Were these places selling seeds to minors? I don't know but if they were, that is another story----but for selling seeds they should get a slap on the wrist more than a sledgehammer as they've gotten, you know?

Yeah, I think that pot is against the law, and authorities have no choice but to uphold the law.

However, when resources are slim, government from the people has to make decisions about how to apply the concept of law enforcement and law in general: to protect society; therefore, it makes great sense to focus resources away from adults who should be free to make decisions about their lifestyles or personal culture so long as they don't hurt others. Adults who choose to grow or smoke should not be punished. Child rapists should be. Murderers should be. Terrorists should be. Resources should be focused on them. And drug dealers who are seriously corrupting the youth of society should also be punished, but adults who choose to grow their own or smoke and dare I say: adults who provide cannabis to other responsible adults for a fair price should not be punished either. Taxes should be taken on those transactions.

Dirty street dealers can harm society; responsible adults really need to be left alone.

Government of the PEOPLE, by the PEOPLE and for the PEOPLE shall not perish from this earth. (as much as we can help it.) lol

The answer to all of your pleas rests with groups like NORML and MPP. Join one, donate, VOTE, goto a protest. All of this stuff does make a difference. I think we need to organize a huge protest in D.C. HUGE! Every intrest group needs to ban together and get it done. Fuck it, I'm saying on 420 we need to have a protest. April 20th, 2006 everyone needs to goto Washington D.C. Lets start it now.

because feeding people does NOT generate any income for govt. locking them up however, lets them waste thousands of dollars of your to keep them locked up. quite obviously a big % of that $$ makes its way back to govt. thats why we lock people up instead of helping them. its makes $$$$.

Normaly I grow around 150 plants. When I hear things like Overgrow shutting down

It has nothing to do with pictures of weed. It's all about setting up a forum for poeple to conspire to manufacture drugs.

That is much thinner first amendment ice than just posting pictures and articles like HIGH TIMES does. OG allowed individuals to help eachother make drugs, the owner also had a seed distribution company.

I am 100% on the side of legalization and I hope overgrow makes it through this legal obstacle, but that is what is really happening here.

Where does the uncle Sam's reach end?? Who will be the next country to fall prey to the pressures of the U.S. Government?? I am concerened about the rest of the world, it is a very small place and seems more and more that borders and laws are being ignored all the freekin time..
I share the belief as most of you that it is just a plant but lets face it, "Somebody" does not see it that way and "They" are damn sure gonna make everybody else live the way that "They" see fit!!

Time to fight back and rise up my brothers. We can't let government bullshit like this happen without reacting cause they'll never stop taking our freedoms away. We need to organize a world wide pothead protest of DEA and other American government agencies control over our peaceful recreation. what we need is a leader to help unify and organize protests that will make officials open their eyes and think twice about interfering with our favorite pastime. Nothing is gonna change unless our reaction to these injustices changes!
