Pacific Cocaine Bust 'World's Biggest'

UNITED States and Panamanian authorities have seized 19.4 tonnes of cocaine on board a ship in the Pacific, making what is thought to be one of the world's biggest maritime drug busts, Panama said today.

US anti-drug officials and Panamanian police found the narcotics hidden in the cargo area of a Panama-registered ship off the Central American nation's coast on the weekend.

"We found 19.4 tonnes and have arrested 14 people,Panamanians and Mexicans," a Panamanian Government spokesman said.

He declined to give the street value of the haul but cocaine typically sells at about $20,000 a kg in the United States, Central American and US anti-drug officials said.

In May 2001, the US Coast Guard found 13 tonnes of cocaine aboard a Belize-registered vessel off Mexico's Pacific coast. Until Monday's announcement, it was the largest maritime drug seizure on record, according to the US Coast Guard.

Central America and Mexico are the main transit points for South American cocaine destined for US markets.

Monday 6-26-08 4:15am. Spotted two guys with back packs walking towards ******* on camera one, looking around as they went.

They stopped in front of **** and went into the carport. I grabbed my spotlight and went down to the sidewalk.

When I saw no one there I shone the spotlight in the carport and called, “Alright you guys. Come out of there!”

Two male Hispanics emerged from between the first two cars saying, “What are you talking about? We’re just looking for our friend!” I told them “Get off this block and don’t come around here anymore!”

They didn’t like that at all! They took umbrage but started walking away muttering against being told to stay off the block. I said, “You’re on video camera right now. Stay off this block! Don’t come back on this street!”

I retreated into our courtyard saying, “Every night guys! Every single night!”, as they continued down the street. As usual I doubled back to the street and saw them still moving away down the block.

They were three-quarters away down the block when I shone my spotlight at them. They responded by shining a flashlight at me. They were pros carrying burglary tools!

I looked in the carport and saw a neighbor’s partially open passenger window. I went home and called the police.

When the car arrived it was the very same cop in the last entry. I showed him the car and detailed the events for him. Another car showed up and they headed towards Linda to look for them.

This time the cop who was so blas� last time said a real thank you before he left!

I will try to keep it brief.

The simple reason is even distribution.

No one goes to any government regulated pharmaceutical outlet to get MMJ in Cali. Never will. Yet they get they taxes! We've been going to tribal collectives for ten-years now.

The ones who really stand to lose here are the syndicates. Are you a dealer? How far up?

When I was dealing pounds I was incredibly lucky. I got in at position three. It was great reaching into the 55gal drums, pulling out armfuls of the best and throwing back the little ones.

I sold dirt-cheap and still more than tripled my bread. How is that fair? I undercut my competition and do you know what? There were still those wanted a discount! I told them it was already built-in.

PANAMA CITY, Panama -- Panamanian police seized a boat off the nation's Pacific coast carrying 21.4 tons of cocaine in one of the biggest maritime cocaine busts anywhere on record, officials say.

National police working with agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency seized the boat on Sunday near the island of Coiba, said a police official who spoke yesterday on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the record.

Police arrested 12 men on the boat, including Mexicans and Panamanians, and another two suspects in Panama City, the official said. The boat, which was sailing under a Panamanian flag, was being transported to Panama City, he said.
