Rob Van Dam & Sabu Both Arrested on Drug Charges

HANGING ROCK — Two wrestling superstars from Extreme Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment may be tough in the ring, but they didn’t have enough muscle to escape drug charges after being stopped Sunday night by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Robert Alex Szatowski, aka WWE and ECW champion Rob Van Dam, and Terry Michael Brunk, aka Sabu, also a former ECW champion, were pulled over on U.S. 52, near Patrick Street in Hanging Rock at about 10:15 p.m. The two were apparently driving from their performances at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena earlier in the evening.

According to the OSHP, Szatowski was initially stopped for speeding. When troopers approached his vehicle, they smelled marijuana and performed a search. Troopers found the wrestler in possession of 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin, prescription pain pills. Brunk was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and also had nine pills that were not immediately identifiable, but were known to be controlled substances, according to the OSHP. Both were cited and posted bond at the scene.

about jobs drug testing for marijuana the only fucking reason jobs do drug test on people is to fire you or there looking for a reason to let you go i bet your friend was a hard worker and always went to work. cause the messed up thing to about drug testing is that if you get caught smoking or drinking you get fired but if your ass comes back clean there is no raise there is no bounus there is only get your simple ass back to workand keep making the say rate of pay you were making before you got drug tested it's ashame you would accually say about your friend sounds like to me your nothing but a kiss ass at your job hell your the kind of person that the rest of us need to watch out for

Thank you Pv2 Daniel C. Jones. That was possibly the best commentary on this subject that I have read. It is a shame that lives are being destroyed because people choose to smoke marijuana. A friend and co-worker of mine, who failed his drug tust at work, was suspended and lost his holiday pay, vacation etc. because he had smoked weed. He was suspended at Christmas time which meant he also lost his Christmas bonus. Altogether, this little episode cost him about 5-6 thousand dollars. Not to mention the black eye on his employment record. The irony is that other's there are abusing prescription pills at an alarming rate and even coming to work high. But this is accepted as long as they have a prescription. The moronic nature of this goes without saying. Which is worse, A guy smoking some pot on his own time, or someone LEGALLY popping pills and coming to work high? While I persoanlly don't care if someone is popping pills, it represents a much bigger problem than recreational weed usage. I pray for a day when our government takes a fair and realistic approach to drug laws. Sadly, I doubt that will be anytime soon.

For those of you that are worried about the future of Rob Van Dam's career, don't fret. Paul Heyman announced lastnight after ECW that RVD will be suspended for 30 days. He also lost both the World Heavyweight and ECW titles, as WWE doesn't want his champions to garner negative media attention. As of right now I have no idea what the future of Sabu is. Lastnight on ECW, they ran a promotional video for him, so I would guess that he's not fired either.

Also, it was reported that they may only have to pay a fine in the range of $100.

Just in case nobody knew... the WWE Drug Tests DO NOT include Marijuana. That is not what is in question with RVD and Sabu. What is in question is the ACTUAL ARREST. Under the Drug Issue Guidelines, and also stated in all their contracts is a clause stating that if the wrestler in question gets arrested, convicted of, or admits to a crime (Such as drug use) then it will be gorunds for immediate termination.

This whole thing with RVD and Sabu should be interesting. Not only do they face possible jail time for this...(I'm not sure how strict the laws are in Ohio)... But WWE has just recently developed a new drug policy that has the possibility to fire both. With RVD as ECW and WWE champ right now something will have to be done to stop the PR mess that is about to ensue, I just hope that Vince McMahon does't do anything drastic to our pot smoking champs...
