Dutch Health Minister Says Marijuana to Be Exempt from July 1 Smoking Ban
Thu, Mar 27, 2008 3:23 pm
The minister was replying to questions tabled by parliamentary colleagues on whether coffee shops will become completely smoke free when the ban goes into effect.
Current tobacco laws in the Netherlands do not cover the smoking of pure marijuana or cannabis in coffee shops, he said.
Coffee shops also will be allowed to set up separate smoking areas for customers who want to smoke marijuana and tobacco, although staff will not be allowed to serve or do other work inside those areas.
Minister Klink said he would look into the ban's effect on coffee shops at the end of 2008 or beginning of 2009, including what percentage of coffee shops have opened a separate smoking area.

With regards to Ron Paul allowing cutthroat capitalism, that's is what we have right now thanks to government corporate socialism which allows the company to be bailed out whenever the manure hits the fan (Bear Stearns). This seems fair to stock holders, but what about everyone else who makes bad decisions? By having corporate socialism, this allows these companies to make risky moves knowing they will be bailed out! It has alway been a misconception that Ron Paul wants to do away with Social security immediately. What he understands is that people are reliant on it. He also understands that it could be shored up if we stopped wasting our money on the military industrial complex. He also understands that if we keep raiding the fund and that if inflation rises faster then social security increases and if the value of the dollar continues to press the german Mark after WWI, retirees won't having anything anyway. I don't for a second believe that he thinks absolute privitization without select regulation is the way to go. I also know that he would need the approval of congress if he wanted to do as you say. As far as Supreme court justices, you are right---to a point. My problem is the answer to fascism always seems to be socialism and in the end the government always grows. I hate socialism as much as fascism. I just want to lead an uncluttered life free on people trying to live my life for me. I saw this bumper sticker and I think it is approriate: Vive tu vida i no la mia. Live your life not mine. Take care.

1. They don't reply. What can they say when I've just held a mirror up to their own obvious flaws? It's staring them in the face, and they can't face it.
2. They reply with more curses and insults, while completely ignoring every point I've made, and every question I've asked them.
3. They go off on tangents, trying to justify their behavior by hiding behind things like "The First Amendment" and "The right to free speech", as if I'm telling them that it's illegal to say what they're saying.
Good luck with quitting the tobacco hobby. Any time I want to quit something like that, I find that eating more and working out every day is quite effective. When you stop taking a drug, you will have more overall energy, but people translate that into nervous energy and think "I need a drink/smoke/pill/snort to calm down", because they get used to suppressing that "nervous" energy with a drug. But when you feel that wave of extra energy coming on, working out will burn it off in a constructive, healthy way. Plus, you get that post-workout rush...endorphins are natural opiates. Trade your nicotine for endorphins (and maybe THC). I'm not saying it'll be easy, but you'll feel better AND stronger.
After years of taxing their systems with 'drugs', people forget what it's like to feel healthy, and they don't know how to deal with the high levels of natural energy that their bodies are capable of. Little kids know how to burn off excess energy, but adults are so clever that they learn how to forget what they knew as children.

Any person that says (or types) words like "faggot" in any form, is hiding the inner "gayness" themselves. You know...trying to be cool in front of everyone.
And about proper spelling and grammer? Well, I suck. And I'm pretty baked also so that doesn't help. It is the right thing to do to correct someone when they need to be corrected. Just hope they listen and learn from it.

Unjustifiable anger, hostility, intolerance and the like are not what I expect from cannabis consumers. In fact, I expect just the opposite. But I appreciate your effort to mediate the problem.
Meanwhile, Vote 4 is free to reply to my posts, if he has the nerve, but if it's not an apology, you can bet that I will continue to verbally bitch slap him. Being stoned is not a valid excuse, especially when the behavior never changes. How many times are we supposed to forgive such blatent hostility that is aimed directly at us? Something tells me that you wouldn't put up with his insulting attitude if he was talking to you, and you'd be right. This poor, stupid bastard probably gets his ass kicked on a regular basis.

So while I do agree with your argument with RP, I dont think its fare to insult his intelligence.

1. S/b a comma after TBC (s/b TCB).
2. You used the word "your"' instead of "you're".
3. You did not capitalize the 1st word in the 3rd sentence.
So, tell us, Vote 4, how are we supposed to take you seriously when you write like a pissed off first grader who suddenly realized that he can curse and scream at people without getting his ass kicked? You're completely safe, aren't you? You can talk like the big, strong, tough guy you aren't. If we put you into a crowd of real people, you'd never talk that way to them. Without your anonymity, you wouldn't be safe, and your brave facade would disappear faster than your writing skills. But take heart, Vote 4, there are plenty of angry, stupid little boys on this site that you can play with, and you can yell and scream at each other and pretend that you're all tough guys.
Meanwhile, you can continue to give Ron Paul a bad name with your insulting attitude that only turns off any potential voters who come across your brain damaged postings.
When Ron Paul loses in a landslide, you can thank the bad attitudes of people like yourself, although your ego would never accept that, so you'll probably blame it on those "sheep, faggots and bitches" who for some strange reason weren't convinced by your insults that Ron Paul was the best candidate.
The best thing you can do for Ron Paul is to stop talking about him. You're making him look bad.
Control your anger, or it will control you.

By the way, your 2nd sentence should read "TCB, you're a faggot..." You missed the comma, and the apostrophe between 'you' and 'are'..."you're", not "your". You are as lazy grammatically as you are politically. I have often thought that people who spew such hatred, like yourself, are the real agents of discontent, sewing the seeds of hatred on this website. Are you a narc, or some fundamentalist lunatic who hates the idea of people thinking for themselves? Once again, you and the others have avoided my main point; you cannot convert people to your cause by insulting them, calling them "faggots" and "sheep" as you have in your previous postings. Ron Paul is a far better man than you, and would condemn your posts. Ron doesn't want people like you representing him. He would be ashamed of what people like you are saying in his name. Go back and read my posts from 'Ron Paul Blast from the Past' 1-28-08. I'll stand by my previous statements.

I disagree with your views on the ONLY platform for pot smokers. Unlike you, I am concerned with many other issues, including the ones you mentioned. The problem I have with Libertarians and Republicans is their desire to deregulate and privatize everything they can get their hands on. This is the Ronald Reagan/Bush Sr. and Jr. thinking that got us where we are now. I don't want to lose gov't protections in favor of letting corporations police their own operations. Ron Paul's answer is, if you get food poisoning or injuries from poorly manufactured goods, take it to court. As I have said repeatedly in my previous posts, I don't want to spend the rest of my life chasing down corporations and fighting their legions of superlawyers.
As far as pro-marijuana candidates, Barack Obama has advocated decriminalization. That's the first step towards legalization, and more palatable to the average voter than completely ending the drug war. Personally, I don't want heroin and cocaine legalized, just cannabis.
Then there's the Supreme Court issue. Do you want John McCain or Barack Obama to choose the next 2 or 3 S.Court appointments? If we get 4 more years of Republican rule in the form of John McCain, you can look forward to a Depression, and how important will pot be when you're living on the streets? Not as important as the economy. I agree with the issues you listed, but for me there are too many other crucial issues.

P.S. I don't hate Ron Paul, I just don't agree with most of his political viewpoints. He is a conservative Republican, and I am not. Just because I agree with his pro-cannabis legalization stance doesn't mean I agree with the rest of his political platform. I am a liberal and he is a Libertarian, two very different political viewpoints. If you don't know the difference, listen to Air America, especially Thom Hartmann. Libertarians are not liberals, they are conservatives!

tobacco is poison - kills more than guns, drugs, violence. If you work in a bar that allows smoking, cancer is an occupational hazard. This is a worker rights issue. The Dutch gov't is wise enough to know that cannabis smoke is benign and workers at coffeeshops are not at any rsi kof health problems from being exposed to cannabis smoke.
