Officers May Have Eaten LSD-laced Goodies, Fort Worth Police Say

A teen with a list of Fort Worth-area police departments was arrested Tuesday after he attempted to deliver cookies laced with LSD to the Lake Worth Police Department.

The 18-year-old had a list with the names of 25 area police departments -- and 12 of them were checked off, police said.

No injuries have been reported, authorities said, but Fort Worth police have confirmed that at least three officers ate cookies from a basket delivered to the downtown office.

The teen was arrested about 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lake Worth police station after he tried to drop off a basket of cookies and candy, claiming that they came from MADD.

Police identified him as Christian Phillips of Watauga.

"We had already received a call to be on the lookout," Lake Worth Police Chief Brett McGuire said Tuesday. "He was detained after we took one of the cookies and it tested positive for LSD."

McGuire said that MADD had nothing to do with the delivery of the basket.

The Fort Worth department is contacting officers who might have been exposed. Police said will seek charges if the cookies or candy test positive for drugs.

Police in Blue Mound received a basket filled with candy and cookies just before 8 p.m. Monday.

"There were some homemade cookies," Blue Mound police Lt. Thomas Cain said Tuesday. "It looked like the basket had come from MADD."

But when a Blue Mound officer picked up one of the cookies, it smelled like marijuana, Cain said.

"A field test was done and the cookie tested positive for marijuana," Cain said.

Saginaw Police Chief Roger Macon said Tuesday that his department was on the teen's list for a delivery, but he never showed up.

"From time to time, we’ll get food items from groups and individuals," Macon said. "But if it's unsolicited, we always get rid of it."

After the teen's arrest Tuesday, authorities alerted area law enforcement agencies about any suspicious baskets with the MADD logo on them arriving at police stations.

Wasting perfectly good LSD on dosing an unsuspecting person, much less a cop, is a horrible idea. I hope they throw the book at this ignorant kid hard.

I know this kid and he's is dumb as hell. A smarter person would of takin' the drugs and had a nice time, but he decided to try and dose some cops. What a tool!!! He did it for popularity not to make the world a better place.

Dosing anyone is not a good idea. Not good for our cause and not really funny either. People should never have anything forced on them without their knowledge. Even dirtbag cops.
