Which Europeans Use the Most Cannabis?

LEVELS of cannabis use in Europe remain high by historical standards, according to a new report on drug use from the EU's drug-monitoring arm. Around a quarter of all Europeans aged between 15 and 64, or some 72m people, have tried cannabis. The Dutch are not the keenest spliff smokers in Europe, despite lenient laws: the Danes, French and Britons are most likely to have puffed on a joint at some point in their lives. The highest levels of usage are reported among people between the ages of 15 and 24.

Looking at these studies makes you think. Alcohol is legal, weed isn't. And yet which one is the catalyst for so much violent crime all over the world?

cannibus should be legalized, and what strikes me as odd is that if so many people use then why is it still illegal in most places, do your part free the trees

it sounds like the UN statistics are based on current usage percentages while the EU figures are based on lifetime usage

The United Nations statistics are different. The U.N. claims that the island of Cyprus has the highest pot consumption in all of Europe. Its very odd that the EU figures and the U.N. figures are so different. I personally think the Brits are the biggest pot heads in Europe, when they're not drunk. The Germans are also known to be big pot enthusiasts. The U.N. puts Cyprus first at 14% pot heads, Britian and Spain around 11%, followed by the rest. The U.N. puts Holland toward the middle of the middle at 6%.

The U.N. statistics puts Cyprus as the top cannabis consumer. This study puts them at the very bottom. Obviously, how do we know which statistics are accurate? Personally, I think the Brits are the biggest dopers in all categories. Germany has a lot also. The danes I've met were as conservative as a person can get.
