Ricky Williams Rejects NFL Offer to Return

'David Cornwell (Williams' attorney) informed our office that Ricky Williams has declined to accept the terms of his reinstatement,' NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.
Cornwell e-mailed a statement to the Associated Press saying, 'Ricky indicated to me that he is no longer interested in resuming his career at this time.'
Williams stunned the football world when he announced his retirment at the age of 27 this July. In a subsequent interview, Williams admitted to failing three NFL administered drug tests and to regular recreational use of marijuana. He is now fighting a ruling that he has to return a large part of his signing bonus because he allegedly breached his contract by announcing his retirement.
Williams' departure left the Dolphins without their top offensive weapon and the team has a 2-9 record this season after winning 10 games a year ago. Head coach Dave Wannstedt also announced his resignation during the team's bye week last month.
