IMPERIAL BEACH – A surfer was apparently trying to catch more than a wave near the U.S.-Mexico border after he was taken into custody on suspicion of smuggling marijuana, according to the Border Patrol.
About 6 a.m. Sunday, agents at the southern end of Imperial Beach spotted the 30-year-old man paddling north on a surfboard from Mexico with a blue duffel bag in tow. The surfer released the bag and was then summoned ashore by agents, who had to pull him from the water when he refused to get out, agents said.
The Mexican citizen admitted he entered the country illegally, agents said. The bag was eventually brought to shore by the tides and agents said they found five packages of marijuana weighing nearly 25 pounds.
The drug has a street value of about $75,000.

Baja to Brownsville. 30 million new tax-payers, the end of border violence, 1/2 a million new jobs. And the best place on the planet to grow pot/hemp. Ignorant fucks!
Ya think someone woulda figured that out 100 years ago, but we've accomplised nothing, but spending money and perptuating the BUY. Corruption in gov't will end in 2 ways, mass exodus, mass riots. You choose, either way, you lose.
Guess Common Sense has yet to take hold, despite being written 250 years ago. Thomas Paine knew they'd pull this shit, that's why he included a self-destruct button in his designs (and why we kicked him to the curb). A national disgrace!

the new policy towards medical marijuana, the committee that funds the DOJ wants the information so that the laws can be restructured for medical marijuana. It only took them 4 months to ask for that, now it will take another 4 months
for the DOJ to respond with an answer, probably that they are studying the situation.
These are the types of delays that big money puts on any legislation that they are against.
