The danger from the hydrocodone is on the low side of what the normal 200 lb male, chronic pain patient, would receive in a normal days maintenance dose of say oxycodone. Depending on the dose of the Vicky, 5mg or 7.5 mg it would be around 200 to 300 mg of oxicontin or CR Morphine. I take that much in the morning dose for some serious pain issues but I also work full time, contribute to my community, have raised two, now grown, children and am an upstanding member of the political process. I also have a "pain contract" with my doctor that I must live up to which means I get the pain meds I need but if I try and BS my doctor or lie about any drug use they can cut me off. The medical issues with Michael should have been referred to a pain specialist, maybe attend a three week in-house pain clinic so all his doc's knew wtf was going on. If Michael was in that much pain maybe it was 100% straight up and a pain specialist could have assessed his needs. Thank the DEA for making patients creep around from doc to doc scamming pills and for the sense of fear good doctors feel every time they fill out a script for pain meds. If the DEA would back off doctors could act more reasonably and responsibly.
