Prison Guard Charged with Bribery, Trafficking Cocaine

A state prison guard was arrested Wednesday after deputies say he traveled to Collier County to pick up cocaine and marijuana which he planned to smuggle into Everglades Correctional Institution in exchange for cash.

What Shamel Watson, 30, of Miramar, didn't know was that the person he arranged to pick up the drugs and cash from was an undercover Collier County Sheriff's Office deputy.

Arrest reports gave this account:

The Florida Department of Corrections contacted CCSO in June to assist in the department's investigation after it received information that Watson had made arrangements with two inmates to bring a large amount of cocaine and marijuana into the Miami-Dade County prison, where he is a correctional officer.

On June 20, an undercover CCSO deputy received a cell phone call from Watson, who said he was a state corrections employee and that he was calling on behalf of an inmate.

At the deputy's request, Watson called back on June 24 and arranged to meet the deputy to pick up 1 pound of marijuana and 4 ounces of cocaine, which he would deliver to the two inmates. Watson asked to be paid $1,000 for his services.

Around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Watson arrived at the 63 mile marker of Interstate 75 in Collier County in a 2002 blue Nissan Maxima to pick up the drugs and cash from the undercover deputy.

The deputy handed Watson cocaine and marijuana. Watson told the deputy he did not need to weigh the drugs. The deputy then gave Watson $1,000 cash.

Watson was then taken into custody.

He was charged with marijuana possession with intent to deliver, cocaine trafficking and receiving a bribe, all felonies.

Then there was a little Gainsvill Green. But after '80, something happened. Nothing but garbage. Barely worth labeling 'mids'. Looks good, smells good, ain't sticky, and don't work worth a fuck! Now, it's worse. Fuckin leaves all over the base of the buds, and you could tie-a-knot with the stems. For $400 an 'o', "No go"!

I didn't say it's not something the Fed would do, I would have to have more proof that it's Hightimes though. And it still, thinking logically, is hard for me to grasp (but, so is America's version of "democracy").

If all of the other shit on this site, which is potentially evidence hate crimes - why then, would they NOT allow other people to curse or hate "systems" which is not prosecutable (YET).

Hu210. I heard it from DEA officials themselves. My sources are very confidential. It's gonna be a long process that will require the Feds and state and local agency quite sometime to figure out that pot doesn't cause the mang problems that cigarettes or alcohol do.

That is to say, however, everyone can lose their connection to the internet for many reasons. I don't think Hightimes is that concerned with us, or they should be more specific about their desires for less content, or fewer posts.

Nor do I believe they have someone sitting at the "disconnect" button, screening your content "before you even send it to them".

But, you shouldn't leave that connection open for too long. Once you have clicked "post a comment", think of it as timer. Don't leave that open for 30 minutes. Press "post" within 5-10 minutes to see if you experience better results.

It looks as though the cops are just as crooked to me. Here's an example. Most cops that police the Collier County corrider pull over one of there own for drinking and drivng you usually get a police escort going to your place of residence any other citzen gets a police escort to the big house. How's that for justice.

P.S. We should all move to Cali. Experts say by the year 2015 the state of California will be the first state as a whole to legalize the cultivation of marrijuana. Put that in your pipe and smoke it :)

Everyone who has had a stay in Everglades correctional knows the dope and coke is primo. What's wrong with smoking a few hoglegs and snorting a few lines when you are locked up and can't drive. The microwavable Cheesesteaks in the machines in the visiting room are pretty good too

Dirty cops like this one are generally favored by cons rather than the by the book cops. A female drug treatment counsler was the main smuggler where I was at. I on occasion enjoyed our one to one therapy sessions. Having $$$ on the books I was a frequent target for "random" drug testing, so didnt partake. But she also had GREAT hummers!! Far more valuable, at the time, to me.

Yup, that experience really bred contempt of the law for me.
