I would say if he had been 16, he would be looking at getting out on his 18th Birthday, but as he was 17, he will probably be tried as an adult, I hope not, I hope he gets out of it all, but in reality , if its a hardnose prosecutor and judge , they could make an example out of him to scare other teens who might try to copy him. He could get 10 yrs hard time, and maybe serve an actual 5 yrs, it all depends, too many variables to consider. If he were my kid , I'd get him out of the U.S. right now.
