gstlab3 nice article. i agree 100% but i dont think u should put down people on medicade. yeah its a drain on tax money but alot of people have realy good jobs and work realy hard but still either cant afford helth care or dont have it offered at there job and cant afford to get it on there own. i would love health care for my family but it would cost over one fourth of my pay and that is crazy. i feel just like you about wellfare and medicade and i will never use either for myself but my child needs helthcare and in this economy i can only think of my child and do what i can for my child. not trying to put you down ive read and agreed with every comment you have written on here in the last year keep up the good work. we could use more people who think like you in this world

For years the government has used every reason imaginable to justify their policies on marijuana. The fact of the matter is marijuana is a safer alternative to tobacco and alcohol. The government can no longer justify their stance on marijuana. Instead of the government heeding the advice of it's own scientists, the government fires them. The government will only listen when what you're saying is inline with their philosophical point of view. The problem is more deeply rooted than a simple law change.
Let's look at the police for a moment. Depending on where you are, the penalties for possession can be quite stiff. The police catch you with an ounce or so of marijuana. They take your car, they sell it and the money goes to pay for equipment and overtime. The money that you may have had when you got busted will just disappear. The police most certainly would not like a liberal law. They'll use words like public safety to justify themselves but we all know it's about money. The judicial system also benefits from marijuana. When you're standing there and the judge is figuring out how to punish you. He looks at the type of job you have and the money you have coming in. If your poor, he'll give you some jail time. But if you have money, he'll slap you with 1000's in fines and make you go to a rehab center for your "problem". It's about the money every time.
It's time to end all this nonsense, people know what's really going on. I have a question for any politician, judge or policeman who may be reading this.
Do you really believe that locking up someone or saddling them with fines is less harmful than the marijuana they were caught with?

it's about damn time some government officials in some parts of the world stand up and fight for whats right. maybe soon the US gov't will follow.......

They differ none from our own congress,we have had scientific studies done on marijuana since 1972,and every one has recommended marijuana be removed from schedule 1, and that it was a possible therapeutic medicine,and congress has ignored them.
