HIGH TIMES on Drugs in Sports

Well, here is some irony for you.
A drug guy, writing a blog about how wrong it is to do drugs.
I should qualify that statement. My arguement here is to all those who say, "So what, put all the 'roid users in the Baseball Hall of Fame - they're still great players."
Sorry, not quite. These guys are no greater than Hank Aaorn, Babe Ruth or Mickey Mantle. You want to put them in the HOF, here's how you do it - you make a Cheater's Wing.
It stands to reason that we can recognize these guys for a few things at least. First off, they reached a pinnacle fitness of the human form to the extent they broke every hallowed record in the game. And second, they cheated. Both merit recognition.
Sure, they didn't technically cheat - I mean, there were no rules before 2004 banning performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs). So all the more reason they can be on disply in Cooperstown. But they cheated our past, the history of the game and the forefathers. All those Legends that came before them were cheated. The fans who believed got cheated. And, sadly, they themselves were the worst victums. Afterall, cheating yourself hurts more than getting cheated on.
So give them a Wing at the Hall of Fame. The Cheaters' Wing.
Talk about a deterant. Or an incentive. Either way, it's fair. Cheat, break the cheaters' records and you're in. But you're also known forever as a Cheater.
Or, don't cheat, play well and maye you get in, maybe you don't. And then again, maybe you get in and you become the best player ever. Maybe you beat the Babe and break Aaron's all-time record. Hey, maybe you even beat the Cheaters' records! Oh, and you're never called a cheater and have the undying respect of your fans, the Legends, the game and, most importantly - yourself.
And so what about Michael "the Bonghitter" Phelps. That one is easy. Tell your kids, when they win 8 gold medals in the Olympics they can do any drugs they want. That should keep them busy for a few years.
Problems solved, Nico out.
