Originally from the valley north of Anchorage, this legendary (and rumored-to-be-lost) variety from the ’70s and ’80s returns with a bang thanks to Dr. Greenthumb, a reliable Canadian source of old-school and new-wave genetics. With huge yields of potent colas, the Matanuska Thunderfuck is truly a monster plant when grown outdoors in full sun.
 
Sativa-dominant in its flavor and punch, yet indica-dominant in its growth traits, the Thunderfuck has been known to put veteran smokers on the floor. The sweet and grassy taste followed by a mule-kick high made this the original one-hit wonder of the last frontier—and once you’ve tried it, you’ll know why Alaskan farmers in the know have been growing this one out for years. Lately, the MTF has also been found useful in treating nerve, joint and back pain in medical patients.
